Well, let’s face it: the citizens of Heartlake City must be hiding something. A city full of happy minidolls swarming around cafés, parks and shops has always seemed to me to be extremely suspicious. Now, The LEGO Movie 2 brought us a completely different perspective on amiable minidolls – General Mayhem, who’s been attacking the movie’s protagonists from the very first sight. Lu Sim looks inside the General’s warlike character and brings this stunning ARMT-H08SM Havoc — a mech that would suit Mayhem just fine. Azure and pink accents look very sharp on the mech’s white body, while missiles made with round pieces with 4 petals is a perfect choice of weapon.

You’ll never know when the next wave of creativity will hit your mind. Our good old friend, colleague, and founder of Brickset.com, Huw Millington gave rein to his imagination as he was reviewing the latest LEGO Creator polybag, 30545 Fish Free Builds. Along with an exotic fish shoal Huw even came up with a couple of fancy birds. This grumpy birdie, which has something in common with Zazu from The Lion King, has instantly captured the hearts of the Brothers Brick team.

Now, we suggest our readers to join the fun and build your own version of Huw’s bird! Here is a short building guide for you to start with, but go ahead and build it the way you like it! LEGO Ideas 21316 The Flintstones [Review]

Last year, LEGO Ideas celebrated 10 years since the first fan idea became an official retail set. Who could have imagined the number of universes, places, and characters turned into official products since then? And now, one more idea joins the club — LEGO Ideas 21316 The Flintstones, a fan project by Andrew Clark, who is known among LEGO enthusiasts as the fan designer of another LEGO Ideas set, 21304 Doctor Who. With 748 pieces, the Flintstones set is much bigger than Andrew’s previous project. It will be available to LEGO VIPs starting on Wednesday, February 20th for US $59.99 | UK £54.99 | CA $79.99.

Swedish truck hitting Brazilian roads

It turns out building too much with LEGO has its cons. Look at Dennis Bosman, who cut his teeth on building some of the most jaw-dropping copies of heavy rigs and trucks! With his enormous experience, building yet another popular European truck might become repetitive. This is also when finding inspiration for the next build might prove challenging, but Dennis is full of surprises. How about an orange Swedish Scania LK141 roaming the roads of Latin America? Dennis wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t manage to deliver another brick-built masterpiece.

Removing the cab reveals a fully-finished chassis, and it’s so easy to fall in love with all the tiny mechanical details. Individually, each of them (gas tanks, tubes, mudguards, etc.) look rather clean and simple. When blended together, the results look outstanding.

Massive Star Wars Resistance Bomber built from over 5,000 LEGO pieces is ready to unload on the First Order Dreadnaught

One of the best things about highlighting the best fan-built LEGO creations is the numerous occasions to watch and re-watch the most spectacular movie scenes. Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi treated us to a whole bunch of fascinating battle scenes and visual effects, but I’ve totally forgotten how good the opening scene is. A great thank you to Mirko Soppelsa for giving us an unscheduled reason to enjoy the heroic deeds of Poe and Rose with this jaw-dropping model of an MG-100 StarFortress bomber. The build counts almost 5200 LEGO pieces and stands over 25 in/64 cm high. What a monster!

In the era of tiny city apartments only the tiniest of ghosts can afford haunting residents of large cities. And since there are no creatures capable of destroying a whole block, why bother rolling out the mighty Ecto-1? Mini-Ecto-1 is on its way to take down a ghost in your tiny kitchen! Koala Yummies plays around with the 1967 Mini Cooper S from LEGO Speed Champions 75894 set and skilfully turns it into an adorable addition to the Ghostbustrs’ garage. I particularly love the use of curved slope with Ghostbusters logo pattern on the side of the Mini; it looks like the piece was designed solely for this lovely build!

Tyrannosaurus drives, tyrannosaurus rex!

When communicating with other people, have you ever noticed that LEGO pieces can be much more effective than words? Especially when describing unusual things, like, uh… a hilarious red T-rex on a six-wheel drive with a wrecking ball instead of his tail? Words are helpless! However, LEGO 7 manages to convey the idea just perfectly and designs an amazing creature. Now, this is what I’m talking about!

For the next trick I need some bricks and tiles...Abracadabrick!

Building with LEGO is very much like performing a magic show; each time you need a particular slope or a suitable minifigure torso, they just disappear! Although, this beautiful vignette by captainsmog doesn’t include more sophisticated or rare LEGO pieces, it remains very eye-catching and funny. Thanks to captainsmog’s smart use of space, tall curtains help to significantly extend the scene’s vertical field of view. This in turn places the action in the center. We don’t know if the trick went well, but let’s hope there’s a spare pair of legs in the builder’s collection…

You’re only one swim away from a good mood

When was the last time you saw a LEGO swimming pool? It looks like LEGO fans prefer sea and ocean beaches to enjoying swimming activities without leaving the city. However, this wonderful copy of the Taikoo Pool by mamax711 makes me want to get my flip flops and pretend it’s summer…

Despite looking very simple, this creation can boast a bunch of very interesting building and color solutions. Bonus points are totally for the name of the pool made of red bricks, where LEGO minifigure chairs are skilfully used in the letters P and O!
