Live from the LEGO Summer 2018 launch event, we’re bringing you all the new product reveals in the LEGO Creator line, scheduled for release later this year. This year we get to see a huge Creator Rollercoaster, more fairground fun and a cheeky return of Pirates!
Roller coasters are the craze of the season. While we are holding breath until the release of the new rumoured giant roller coaster Creator exclusive set, pictures of the one of the highlights of the Summer wave of Creator sets are already here. The new 31084 Pirate Rollercoaster is a very nice-looking addition to the Creator Fair sub-theme and it seems to have just the right vibes to be well-received by Pirate fans.
LEGO will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the plastic brick in 2018, having come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1958. The iconic interlocking bricks have led LEGO to becoming the largest toy company in the world, and LEGO seems to be reaching back to its roots with a new line of classic Creator-style sets emblazoned with the words building bigger thinking. Each set focuses on a different aspect of imagination and features a special tile printed with the 60th Anniversary logo.

Since the introduction of 10253 Big Ben, 10214 Tower Bridge and some LEGO Architecture sets, the LEGO Company seems to be on a mission to LEGO-ify London. Today, they’re adding more to the batch with a model of another hallmark of the British capital with the 10258 London Bus. This 1686 piece set will be an awesome addition to the LEGO Creator vehicle lineup as well, taking its place right next to another British icon, the 10242 Mini Cooper. The iconic red double-decker bus is an impressive copy of an AEC Routemaster, which first appeared on London streets in 1956 and ran till late 2005, becoming one of the world’s best-known public transportation vehicles.
If you want to be among the first fans to see 10258 London Bus in person, on July 1 you can visit one of 5 LEGO brand stores in London for an official unveiling of the set and the ability to purchase it early. For everyone else, however, if you want to buy one you’ll have to wait for the launch date of August 1, 2017, or get VIP early access on July 17. We’ve got the full press release, designer video, and all the images below.
The London Bus will retail for $139.99 in the USA and £109.99 and €119.99 in the UK and Germany, respectively.
Summer is here, and the floodgates of new LEGO sets have opened with 55 sets available as of today. Fans of Star Wars, Superheroes, City, Creator, Friends, Elves, LEGO Dimensions, and The LEGO Batman Movie have a lot to look forward to. And to sweeten the deal, LEGO is offering a cute free Minifigure Travel Pack and free shipping with purchases of $35 or more from the LEGO Shop.
Today LEGO announced its latest Creator Expert set, 10257 Carousel. The 2,670 piece set is the latest entry to the popular carnival theme of sets that includes 10247 Ferris Wheel, 10244 Fairground Mixer, and of course, 10196 Grand Carousel from 2009. The new Carousel has five brick-built animals galloping around its platform, which spins with a hand crank and comes ready for Power Functions integration. The set includes seven minifigures, and will retail for $199.99 USD. It will be available June 1, 2017.
The original carousel from 8 years ago is greatly loved, but the fact that LEGO is circling back to the same carnival ride after only two intervening sets is sure to raise some eyebrows. However, the old 10196 Carousel is so highly desired by fans that it’s currently selling for around $1,700 for an unopened copy, and over $1,100 for a used version, a rare figure outside the Star Wars and Modular themes. Certainly, many fans who can’t afford to spend over $1k on a single set will be glad to see this version. Although slightly smaller than the original, the new set carries a $50 lower MSRP, likely due to the Power Functions being an optional extra this time. Although we spy plenty of elements in new colors, however, we haven’t spotted any completely new elements apart from the cloth roof panels. Let us know in the comments if you see anything we’ve missed, though!
We’ve got the full press release, designer video, and all the images below.

In addition to new sets for LEGO’s play and licensed themes, LEGO has revealed new Creator sets this weekend at New York Toy Fair. These sets will be available in June. In addition to the familiar 3-in-1 sets featuring creatures and vehicles, the Creator theme grows to include more sets featuring modern minifig-based habitats. Apparently the new sets are also modular, but we’re not sure yet how that works. But the star of the show is definitely this awesome little space shuttle!
UPDATE (June 1): The summer wave of LEGO City Jungle sets is now available.
31066 Space Shuttle Explorer $29.99 with 285 pieces

LEGO’s latest set in the Creator theme is 31065 Park Street Townhouse, which was recently released in both the UK and the US. This set contains 566 pieces and retails at UK: £44.99 / US: $49.99 / EU: €49.99. The main build is the townhouse, but there are alternative instructions for a city café and a suburban home. The set comes with 2 minifigures, a moped, and the parts to build a little blue bird and a white dog. This type of Creator set is often called a “mini modular” and interestingly one of the images at the back of the first instruction booklet shows this set linked with 31050 Corner Deli to form a mini street scene. Other examples of so-called mini modulars include 31026 Bike Shop & Café or 31036 Toy and Grocery Shop, both of which are now retired.
