I love me a bit of Asian food. Korean BBQ chicken, a nice bit of sushi, phad Thai, and you can’t beat some good pho. But right now, I’ve got a craving for some noodles done Chinese street-food style. And for that, I have Khang Huynh and his LEGO noodle cart to thank! For a build seemingly devoid of life, it’s very atmospheric. In part that’s helped by some judicious editing and lighting choices, but it’s as much down to the build. The little details like the soy sauce bottles or the stickers (borrowed from Monkie Kid and Lunar New Year sets, among others) really sell the scene. And there’s the juxtaposition of the old-fashioned cart with the very-much-20th century folding table and stools. I can practically smell the waft of fresh noodles from here… And it’s as good as this build looks!

Mini modular LEGO Ramen shop is very tasty.
This cute build by Dutch Thriceman is packed with delicious LEGO details inspired by many sources, and it all comes together beautifully. From the stacked angled roofs to the utility pole and air-conditioning unit, to those two birds on the top, it feels like something right out of a Studio Ghibli movie. The wandering vine, and the clothes drying on a rack are also nice touches. And what a satellite dish!
But the fun details don’t stop with the outside…. This model features detailed interiors as well. Looks like this ramen shop is secretly serving Pigsy’s famous longest noodles from LEGO’s Monkie Kid. Pull up a stool if you like; I’m just about to tuck into a bowl.
Downtown Noodle Shop and Viking Ship open LEGO Creator summer line-up [News]
Official product pictures of the first two LEGO Creator summer sets were published by German online retailer JB Spielwaren. The sets continue the sub-themes introduced earlier, with the 31131 Downtown Noodle Shop being an excellent addition to the modular street on budget, while the 31132 Viking Ship is yet another homage to old LEGO original themes. Both sets are slated for June 1, priced at EUR 44,99 and EUR 119,99 respectively. More regional prices are to follow.
