The move to 8-stud wide vehicles for LEGO’s Speed Champions line was a controversial move for some, although the space afforded allows for more detail and realism. Builder Jerry Builds Bricks chose an iconic design to reproduce that manages to pack in the details. A few clever techniques for the doors and wheels let Jerry build this sleek DeLorean from Back to the Future full of features.

LEGO builder Markus Ronge has quite the green thumb! Check out his incredible Jungle Explorer Tree creation. Most LEGO trees I’ve seen go straight up from the ground, but this one curves up convincingly from the rock face. The surrounding vegetation is highly varied and shows the skill Markus has in knowing exactly where each brick should go. Both I and the kayaking minifigure are very impressed.
A lot of creating custom LEGO builds is problem solving. Will this fit here? How much weight will this connection hold? The Brick Experiment Channel lets us in on their problem-solving process in this video where they try and create a Power Functions-based car that can cross a wider and wider gap between two tables. They definitely hit on some solutions I never would have thought of. (And the failures make for some pretty entertaining crashes.)
It’s no secret that I love teal. Most people do as well, for its wonderful blend of blue and green and The LEGO colour’s interesting history – which you’d rather not have me ramble about it here. Maybe some other time. But another colour that does it for me is vibrant coral. Introduced in 2019 with The LEGO Movie 2 sets, it was an odd but pretty colour. Many LEGO builders struggled to put it to good use, especially with other colours so that they don’t clash. Seasoned Technic builder Peer Kreuger (mahjqa) uses both colours as a racing highlight on a dark blue American-style semi-truck. And the colour combo of all three is just *chef’s kiss*.
The smooth and colourful exterior of the truck hides the Control+ motor system allowing it to be driven from a smartphone. Peer has decades of experience with motorised and remote-controlled Technic builds, and each time he builds a new one I’m still impressed. This time, the real icing on the cake is the vibrant coral coloured seahorse adorning the hood of the truck. I never thought I’d see an accessory from LEGO Friends on a Technic build…
We like builds with NPU. They showcase the limitless creativity of people when it comes to utilising a weird LEGO element in a unique way. Character builder Eero Okkonen is no stranger to odd but innovative parts in his wonderful builds. And he is no stranger to Bionicle either, from which his myriad of character builds originate. This time he takes this opportunity to include a part many had difficulty integrating into their creations: the Rahkshi back. And it works so well that I will now think of that part as “Mammoth forehead.” Thanks Eero!

Paolo Loro has constructed this beautiful portrait which depicts a mysterious character named as “Lion Girl.” The most striking element of the model has to be the golden curls which have been carefully placed in order to create the girl’s wavy mane. The face has some interesting features, such as the smooth angles and the use of a claw piece to create the eye. The model not only looks fantastic but also has a sense of intrigue within its portrayal, as the features of the character are not fully defined.
Ever since 1965, the world has delighted in watching Charlie Brown grapple with the commercialization of the Christmas holiday. And then we turn around and spend our money on A Charlie Brown Christmas merchandise in a manner that would make ol’ Chuck wonder if we were paying any attention at all. There’s the Blu-ray, the music album, an official board game, greeting cards, ornaments, nutcrackers, artificial trees, t-shirts, sweaters… It seems A Charlie Brown Christmas has been licensed out to just about every product imaginable. Except for LEGO. But BenBuildsLEGO has answered my Christmas wishes by delivering a trio of minifig-scale prop builds from the holiday special.
Schroeder’s piano, Snoopy’s doghouse, and Charlie Brown’s sad little Christmas tree are all instantly recognizable, and I couldn’t imagine an official set looking any better. Some of the pieces here are kind of rare, like the medium azure life preserver acting as Linus’s blanket at the base of the tree. But if you’re decorating your LEGO city for Christmas, they’ll be worth tracking down. And don’t feel bad for dropping the money on some new LEGO pieces for your holiday celebration. Let’s face it, we all know that Christmas is a big commercial racket. (It’s run by a big eastern syndicate, you know.)
Building within the LEGO community means so many things to each person. Young and old, we all have a heartfelt connection with this iconic building block system, and those around us often can’t help but see it. Our connection with those who celebrate and support us in our hobby is deep and strong. So when we lose it, it can be hard to look at things the same way. Builder Jason Corlett recently lost his mother, his proudest and biggest fan, to illness. As our hearts go out to him and his family, he shows us that the spirit of building can serve to heal with this Green Machine Vic Viper. Though he knows life won’t be the same without her, I believe his mission to continue to make her proud with surely succeed.
A quick scan through Jared Reisweber‘s collection of custom builds makes it clear: you build big or you go home. Jared is at his best when managing large-scale vehicles and spaceships. For me, it was out of question whether Jared would build an X-wing; it was all about when he would finally design one. Now, here comes one of the most impressive brick-built Star Wars fighters consisting of mind-blowing 7,349 pieces.
This X-wing is 600 pieces bigger than the recent Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series 75313 AT-AT, and all these pieces result in striking details. Thanks to the sheer scale of the model, Jared uses multi-layers combinations of plates for a genuinely realistic design.
The build measures 33.3″ x 36.9″ (roughly 80 by 90 cm). With adjustable wings, such a centerpiece could easily outmatch even the most giant LEGO Star Wars spaceships, like 75252 Ultimate Collector Series Imperial Star Destroyer. But which scale would you prefer for your Star Wars collection?
The twin-forked Vic Vipers are back, and Shannon Sproule joins this year’s November fleet with an amazing Mazinger-inspired craft. The bold color choices make for a great retro feel, but the real treat is that golden canopy – a custom part created by using a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen on the existing LEGO element. There’s also the subtle choice to use “classic grey” 2×2 round brick in the front forks as a color variation. What a great mix of the old and new!

The planet Batuu lies at the edge of the known galaxy, a waypoint bordering the unknown regions. It is an outpost known only to a few. To get there, one must… go to Disneyland? In America?
Well, a group of European builders in the BrickzLab community shared the same sentiment and decided to build their own Galaxy’s Edge in LEGO – but set in the Dark Times era, which takes place after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Nine talented builders came together to build this immersive town: Malen Garek, dogma_54, The Brickforce, Luca S Projects, LegoFordo, H2Brick, lego_earth_production, lego_fanboy, and W1chard. Their goal was to display it at the German LEGO exhibition of IDS Brickworld, and the result was a massive 190cm by 130cm (6.3′ by 4.3′) display lit up with custom LEGO-compatible LED lights by Lightailing.

Some LEGO fans are exceptionally good at thinking outside of the box. Redverse shows us they are one of those persons. Or are they thinking inside the box? Well, Redverse created a hermit crab inhabiting a LEGO Pick-a-Brick cup, and it doesn’t get much cuter than that. The PAB cup is instantly recognisable to diehard LEGO fans. Integrating it in your build is a really clever way to make sure you stand out. Using only red bricks for the body makes the two little black eyes pop. This build looks quite simple and that is what makes it elegant, elegant and cute. Let’s not forget about cute!
