Toy Fair New York is in full swing, and that means more than just sweet new LEGO sets. It also means cool new LEGO merchandise like books, plushies, luggage, and clothing to accessorize your real-world life. LEGO and their partners have revealed a slew of new products that you’re going to want to check out.

Live from the show floor at Toy Fair New York, we have close-up images of 75292 The Razor Crest and BrickHeadz 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child. Over the past two weeks, LEGO unveiled its upcoming sets based on The Mandalorian, Disney+’s popular series placed within the Star Wars universe, and now we have a hands-on look.
The BrickHeadz set consists of 295 pieces, and the Razor Crest consists of 1,023 pieces, including a Baby Yoda minifigure. They are slated for release on Aug. 1st and Sept. 1st respectively, though the Razor Crest is currently available to preorder for US $129.99 | CAN $159.99 | UK £119.99 and will be a LEGO Store and Amazon exclusive when it releases Sept. 1.

LEGO has revealed the latest life-size LEGO Star Wars brick-built figure: the droid D-O from Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Live from the show floor at 2020 Toy Fair New York, we have close-up images of the upcoming UCS-like set, 75278 D-O, which includes 519 pieces and will retail for US $69.99 starting on April 19th ahead of the “May the Fourth” Star Wars holiday.
D-O comes hot on the heels of the newly announced LEGO Star Wars sets based on The Mandalorian revealed earlier this week.

Now that LEGO has finally gotten with the times and released official versions of Baby Yoda – in both BrickHeadz and minifigure form, LEGO fans can focus on building him in new formats. A devout follower of the Church of Baby Yoda, Neil Snowball, jumped at the chance to build our lord and savior in mosaic form. The likeness is uncanny and the thick black borders give it the stylized appearance of a cartoon or 8-bit video character. One thing is for sure, he’s just as cute in two dimensions as he is in three.
If you’ve read this far, you may be waiting for me to acknowledge that officially, the character is named “The Child”. Listen, I know that. You know that. I know you know that. He may be The Child in official labels, but in my heart, he’ll always be Baby Yoda. Unless he decides to fist bump me, and I try to be cool and call him “Yode”.

The biggest set is 75292 The Razor Crest which comes with 1,023 pieces and minifigures including The Mandalorian, IG-11, Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper, and a new Baby Yoda minifigure. It’s available for preorder for US $129.99 | CAN $159.99 | UK £119.99 and will be a LEGO Store and Amazon exclusive when it releases Sept. 1. The other set is 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child, a pair of BrickHeadz coming in at 295 pieces, which was revealed last week, and is also available for preorder for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99. It will be released Aug. 1.
75292 The Razor Crest comes with 1,023 pieces and measures over 5.5 inches high (14cm), 15 inches long (38cm) and 11 inches wide (28cm). It features a dual minifigure cockpit, a cargo hold with opening sides and access ramps, a sleeping area and a detachable escape pod. (No word if it also features the first bathroom ever seen in Star Wars.)

Well, I have seen a lot of different small parts used to represent minifigs at microscale. Still, I gotta hand it to CreativBricks for their genius idea to use actual Minifig arms in white to represent clones, and in tan and dark gray to represent B1 and B2 Battledroids, respectively. But the techniques used to create the vehicles go arm-in-arm with the figures. In fact, that AT-TE has some fantastic details for its scale.

I admit it. I love the prequel trilogy of Star Wars movies. It is not for the scintillating dialogue or the powerful acting, though, impressive as those are. No, it is for the cool spaceships and the deeper look at life in the galaxy. There’s more to the thousands of planets than a few military bases and super-weapons, after all. One of those cool spaceships is the Venator-class Star Destroyer, used by the Republic. Fans of LEGO have been clamoring for years for a UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) model of the ship, and, quite frankly, I’ll be surprised if they ever get it due to an anti-prequel bias. For now, though, they can be content with seeing this microscale version built by Stephan Niehoff. It’s got everything it needs: blasters, thrusters, greebles, and most importantly, the dual bridges and the dark red stripe along the top. Now it’s time to take out some Separatists!
Back in 2017, Ted Andes built one of my favourite LEGO Star Wars-esqe ships that could have been a page taken from the galaxy far far away. This year he’s taken that inspiration and made it into a full-blown evolution of a Y-wing and it looks amazingly sleek and fit for a Rebel bombing run.
Utilising the canopy of the X-Wing and the shades of the popular yellow-themed Y-Wing from Star Wars, taking out bad guys never looked so good.
Watching Star Wars it seems impossible not to sympathize with all the dummy droids. One of the reasons is their straightforwardness; they always speak what they process. Speaking about the Imperial K2SO from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, one of my favorite moments was his genuine question regarding a blaster in Jyn’s hand. Mirko Soppelsa builds a fantastic statuette, but still gives the droid no weapons.
Unlike many other similar works, Mirko’s droid features a very detailed area behind its head. Black, gray, and gold pieces go very well with each other. I totally believe there is the droid’s unique character hiding somewhere behind all those tubes and wires.
Capturing great details on a spaceship that fits in the palm of your hand is a refreshing surprise from TBB Veteran, Letranger Absurde, and this pair of spaceships, while inspired by Star Wars, stand alone as a lesson in master parts usage. Take the fighter, made from a single LEGO minifigure robot head mold from the Galaxy Squad theme, where the facial visor serves as the cockpit canopy. And the red 1×1 tile on the side of the frigate nose picks up the circle design on the sides of the fighter beautifully.
One hundred internet points to you if you can see this LEGO Mandalorian creation without humming Ludwig Göransson’s iconic theme for the show. LEGO fan Logan W. has done a good job recreating Din Djarin as he appeared in the beginning of the series, before he loses his <SPOILER – REDACTED> and gets new <SPOILER – REDACTED>. Hmm, I must have some kinda spoiler filter installed on my computer, preventing me from ruining any cool new media. How far back does it go? Will it let me reveal that in The Empire Strikes Back we find out that <SPOILER – REDACTED> is <SPOILER – REDACTED> father? I guess not. Well, if I can’t talk about the show, let’s focus on the model! I love to see Bionicle and system parts integrated in the same model, and they really come together here. The cloth element for the cape is also a really nice touch. I wonder if he built a version of his sidekick, <SPOILER – REDACTED>, to accompany him?
