LEGO unveils two new Star Wars: The Mandalorian sets including the Razor Crest and an adorable Baby Yoda minifigure [News]

LEGO has officially unveiled two new sets based on Star Wars: The Mandalorian ahead of the New York Toy Fair this weekend. The biggest set is 75292 The Razor Crest which comes with 1,023 pieces and minifigures including The Mandalorian, IG-11, Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper, and a new Baby Yoda minifigure. It’s available for preorder for US $129.99 | CAN $159.99 | UK £119.99 and will be a LEGO Store and Amazon exclusive when it releases Sept. 1. The other set is 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child, a pair of BrickHeadz coming in at 295 pieces, which was revealed last week, and is also available for preorder for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99. It will be released Aug. 1.

75292 The Razor Crest comes with 1,023 pieces and measures over 5.5 inches high (14cm), 15 inches long (38cm) and 11 inches wide (28cm). It features a dual minifigure cockpit, a cargo hold with opening sides and access ramps, a sleeping area and a detachable escape pod. (No word if it also features the first bathroom ever seen in Star Wars.)

The Razor Crest also comes with five minifigures including The Mandalorian, IG-11, Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper and a new “The Child” figure (aka Baby Yoda) similar to other LEGO babies but with a new molded head with big eyes and ears, sand green hands, and a dark tan body with printed coat details.

75317 The Mandalorian & The Child BrickHeadz comes with 295 pieces and features Baby Yoda in its floating hoverpram and The Mandalorian with his signature armor, an Amban rifle mounted on his back, and a blaster. The Child is built in the smaller 3×3 configuration of the “BrickHeadz Buddies” first seen in the Harry Potter Hedwig design.

Baby Yoda includes “adjustable ears for different expressions” (interpretation: you can flip the slopes to make him seem sad), and the Mandalorian features two printed 2×2 triangle tiles on his helmet, similar to those that appeared on the Boba Fett BrickHeadz from two years ago.

Both 75292 The Razor Crest and 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child will be available globally later this summer starting Sept. 1st and August 1st respectively, well ahead of the second season of The Mandalorian.

I knew they were going to put that first Baby Yoda minifigure in a big set.
It’s already on the Lego Shop online. $129.99 and says ships by Sept 1

Having preorder for a set available in six months is strange to me, especially with a limit of five. It seems like Lego is encouraging gouging on the secondary market for what figures to be popular sets.
