This LEGO version of Pluto the Dog is bursting with charisma

Chris Yu has created this excellent version of the cheerful canine in Lego form. The round, exaggerated proportions of Pluto have been captured perfectly. Quarter circular tiles are placed throughout the build, accentuating the more curved areas. The cheeky dog also has a lolling tongue conveying Pluto’s playful personality. Small details, such as the custom name tag, makes the model almost look like an official set.

The build also has the ability to pose its long, sleek ears and move its neck, allowing Pluto to do an adorable head tilt. Chris Yu’s approach to creating Pluto feels professional and this model would make for a great set. Let’s hope we can see something like this in the future from Lego!

LEGO Ideas officially reveals 21329 Fender Stratocaster buildable guitar with 2 colors [News]

Today LEGO is finally revealing the official design for the LEGO Ideas 21329 Fender Stratocaster. The design was created by fan Tomáš Letenay as part of the Music to Our Ears contest for the crowdsourcing platform, and although it didn’t win the fan vote, LEGO designers specially selected it to become a set in September of 2020. The official set will include a version of the famous Fender Stratocaster guitar from the 1970s, and like the original submission, its 1,074 pieces include parts to build the guitar along with an amp. You’ll also get the option to build the guitar in either red or black. The set will be available starting Oct. 1 for US $99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £99. Check out our full, hands-on review of 21329 Fender Stratocaster as well.

We rock out with the LEGO Ideas 21329 Fender Stratocaster Guitar [Review]

Once again the LEGO Ideas team gave the public what they had voted for and this time they had acquired a license with Fender to produce a faithful facsimile of the Fender Stratocaster. The Stratocaster, or the “Strat” as it’s affectionately called, is one of the most iconic electric guitars of all time (it’s within the top two!). Tomáš Letenay is the fan designer for this set, but does LEGO’s interpretation of his design crank the awesomeness up to eleven or does it fall a bit F-flat? Our guitar enthusiast reviewer gets his hands on a copy to find out. LEGO Ideas 21329 Fender Stratocaster consists of 1,074 pieces and retails for US $99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £99 and is available October 1.

The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.

This LEGO chameleon will leave you tongue tied

Builder Joss Woodyard is quite prolific with his many creature models and he hits the mark again with this wonderful chameleon. I really appreciate the color work here with the subtle difference between the bright green and medium azure in the body and the orange underside really pops. The articulated limbs using ball joints create tons of possibilities for action poses. I also love the perfectly curled tail and the extended tongue with tiny fly is the perfect finisher. According to the artist, instructions will be available for this colorful creature soon.

My Little Game Boy

There are a lot of reasons to get the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System. From hidden easter eggs in the build to fantastic play features, the set is hands down one of the best sets the LEGO Group has ever released. It’s hard to imagine getting this set and ever wanting to break it down. Then again, some builders just can’t help themselves. Mech Master Moko harvested some printed tiles from the remains of this amazing set to bring us another piece of nostalgia, with a twist. This ingenious model transforms from a classic handheld gaming system into GAMEBOY-ROBO.

If you want to make a statement with your car, paint it purple

With his latest LEGO vehicle, Russian fan-builder Mikhail Kulakov makes quite a bold statement. Not only is it iconic Dodge Challenger 2008 SRT, but it is also fully RC. And, oh boy, it’s so purple. Before we peek under the hood, take a moment to appreciate crazy combinations of System and Technic pieces in purple all over the car. Smaller Technic panels surrounded by numerous slopes and tiles create a fantastic design.

Since LEGO models do not run on gas, there is only one Technic motor worth the Challenger — the good old 9V buggy motor. Coupled with a PF-servo motor for steering, this Dodge has a competent chassis, complete with independent suspension. A neat and clean look is a treat for the eyes, for sure.

34 LEGO Ideas projects qualify for the second review [News]

As the second review period of 2021 has just closed, the LEGO Ideas team confirms that 34 projects successfully gathered 10,000 votes each and are now qualified for the review stage. As usual, there’s plenty of buildings (both urban and rural) in the pool, as well as space-themed creations and scenes based on TV shows and movies. It’s hard to predict the review result just yet, but we are thrilled to see how some of the more unusual projects will perform.

Ideas 2021 Second Review

Meanwhile, the results of the 2021 first review are coming soon. We can’t wait to learn which of the 57 projects will be turned into official LEGO Ideas sets next.

Great Demon King Koopa

The marriage of LEGO and Nintendo that occurred in the last year has been a gift to nerdy builders everywhere. The Super Nintendo set blew our collective minds, and the Mario sets have given builders of all ages a fun new way to interact with the classic characters. Though the game is a cool idea for the Mario sets, the printed pieces and newer molds that LEGO provides in this line give builders a chance to do what they do best and build their own versions. Enter Bruce Lowell and his model of Bowser. At a larger scale than the official LEGO version, this build of the classic bad guy gives more definition and form to his legs and arms. The claws look awesome, and the spiked straps on his arm are an awesome detail. While the official LEGO Bowser’s proportions are a bit cartoonish, this version gives the character a more realistic feel. This is especially true in the face, which Bruce has molded with more depth and detail, abandoning the printed mouth tile and opting for a working jaw instead.

Majestic LEGO castle a true king needs and deserves

With hundreds (if not thousands!) of LEGO castles featured by our team here on Brothers Brick, leaving our editors open-mouthed with a new design has become quite a feat. Somehow, Greg Dlx came up with something equally epic and unique, a fascinating medieval-themed build. Resembling some of the most famous European castles, this enormous build seems to have it all: thick walls and massive towers, detailed inner space, and even a river by the walls for extra defending. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best bits of this build.
