If you want to make a statement with your car, paint it purple

With his latest LEGO vehicle, Russian fan-builder Mikhail Kulakov makes quite a bold statement. Not only is it iconic Dodge Challenger 2008 SRT, but it is also fully RC. And, oh boy, it’s so purple. Before we peek under the hood, take a moment to appreciate crazy combinations of System and Technic pieces in purple all over the car. Smaller Technic panels surrounded by numerous slopes and tiles create a fantastic design.

Since LEGO models do not run on gas, there is only one Technic motor worth the Challenger — the good old 9V buggy motor. Coupled with a PF-servo motor for steering, this Dodge has a competent chassis, complete with independent suspension. A neat and clean look is a treat for the eyes, for sure.

A line of Econolines (and A-100’s)

In the mid-fifties Volkswagen imported their microbus into the US and Americans were immediately smitten. The forward-cab shape offered practicality, utilitarianism, and unbridled fun in one fell swoop, and Ford, Dodge, and GMC quickly took notice. Clearly, this phenomenon has not been lost on LEGO builder Chris Vesque as he presents a series of five 60’s era Ford Econolines (teardrop headlights) and Dodge A-100’s (round headlights). He starts us off with a stock Ford Econoline pickup. This configuration offers a full 7 1/2 feet of loading capacity.

I’ll fix your (Little Red) Wagon

LEGO car builder Tim Henderson tells us that awhile ago he had built a version of the Little Red Wagon. It must have been met with very little fanfare because our archives don’t even reveal a blip. But now he has reworked the old build using newer parts and techniques and not only is this iconic 1964 Dodge A100 wheelie-stander on our radars but you’re digging it now too. That’s the power of The Brothers Brick. We find cool stuff. We share it with you. You get excited. Shampoo, rinse, repeat. After rinsing off there you might want to check out a few other vehicles we went totally gaga for.

When you’ve got a ’69 Charger, a mullet and a GED the world is your oyster!

Sometimes you just want to shirk all responsibilities, grow a mullet and get a ’69 Dodge Charger R/T. I mean, come on, look at it! It’s beautiful! Clearly, Tony Bovkoon knows what I’m talking about. The Statue of Liberty only further illustrates that this car is classic American muscle. That’s freedom right there! In this car, shirts don’t need sleeves, jeans are acid-washed and the radio dial never veers away from anything that doesn’t play Freebird or Born to be Wild on a continuous loop. When you’ve got a ’69 Charger, a mullet and a GED the world opens up to a myriad of possibilities. Some of them involve getting burgers, drag racing, raisin’ hell, and maybe smoking a doobie or two.

Dreaming of owning a Dodge Challenger? Here’s your chance to build one [Instructions]

Thanks to Hachiroku24, instead of just dreaming of a Dodge Challenger R/T, you can now build your very own American muscle car. Gotta love how that set of binoculars seem to fit perfectly as the signature recessed headlights that one can instantly recognise from afar.

TBB cover photo for June 2019: The Old Man and the Sea

For this month’s TBB’s social media cover image, summer is in full swing as we head to the beach with vir-a-cocha‘s excellent re-imagining of the Old Man and the Sea. After all, there’s nothing like a good day at the beach with a surfboard and a classic car. From the old man’s Hawaiian shirt to the sweet lines of the 1970 Dodge Challenger (which looks as if it would fit perfectly beside the official LEGO Ford Mustang), there’s a lot to love in this seemingly simple scene of summer.

LEGO Speed Champions 75893 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R-T [Review]

The 2019 LEGO Speed Champions line includes a diverse range of new and classic cars, many of them packaged as pairs in single sets. We recently reviewed 75894 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally and 2018 MINI John Cooper Works Buggy, which depicts two specific historical vehicles. Although 75893 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R-T doesn’t appear to depict specific race-winners, it certainly rivals the Mini Cooper set for sheer length of the set’s name! The set includes 478 pieces with three minifigs, and retails for $29.99 in the US (£34.99 in the UK and $39.99 in Canada).
