The LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 18, also known as the party series, was revealed a few weeks ago, but today we got a closer look in person at the New York Toy Fair. The 17 minifigures in the series are celebrating 40 years since the first LEGO minifigure was produced: the classic policeman. The series will be available on April 1 for $3.99 USD per blind bag.

LEGO Star Wars Spring 2018 sets unveiled at Toy Fair New York [News]

Live from the show floor at Toy Fair New York 2018, we’re bringing you all the new product reveals in the LEGO Star Wars line, scheduled for release later this year. We’ve already covered our hands-on take on the new Millennium Falcon, so we’ll cover the rest of the LEGO Star Wars reveals in this article.

The selection of products that LEGO revealed today is fairly limited — focused only on the April wave of sets and not the sets we know will be released in August.

Hands on with the LEGO Star Wars Han Solo movie Kessel Run Millennium Falcon at Toy Fair New York 2018 [News]

We’re live from the show floor at Toy Fair New York 2018, where LEGO held a press-only event this morning to unveil the range of LEGO sets that will be launched this spring. Unfortunately, many of the rumored and previously leaked sets are not part of the range of products on display at Toy Fair, so our coverage is somewhat more limited than in previous years.

Overall, our impression of the new Millennium Falcon is that it’s very similar to the Episode VII Falcon from The Force Awakens. We’ll take a closer look after the jump.

LEGO BOOST 17101 Creative Toolbox [Review]

The 17101 BOOST Creative Toolbox represents the latest initiative from LEGO to introduce children to the worlds of engineering, robotics, and computer programming. LEGO recently expanded their range of supported devices, so we’re finally able to bring you a review without purchasing a brand new iPad. LEGO has targeted the 7- to 12-year-old age range for the BOOST product, one of the youngest demographics for a LEGO robotics kit. Unlike the MINDSTORMS series of products that features Technic, BOOST liberally incorporates LEGO SYSTEM brick (in addition to Technic) as the mechanical parts of the robots.

For this review, I engaged the services of an appropriate expert: my 6-year-old daughter, Artemis. Overall, she had few difficulties building the Vernie model, although she occasionally lacked the hand strength to push the Technic pins in holes (particularly when seating multiple pins at once).

Who has two thumbs, builds robots, and won’t eat broccoli? This girl!
