In addition to the big screen success, the fun continues on the small screen with the release of LEGO The Incredibles game, the newest fare from TT Games, now available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $59.99 USD.

Ride the wave with Hatsusika Hokusai
When it comes to Japanese art, one of the most iconic pieces produced during the late Edo period was Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa.” This masterpiece helped to inspire the character of Hatsusika Hokusai, found in the free-to-play role-playing-game (RPG) Fate/Grand Order. Mike Dung has made two versions of this character, including a cute chibi figure. In the chibi-build, Mike’s brick-built wave is instantly recognizable and beautiful representation of Hokusai’s artwork. The wave in the other model is cleverly built with several trans-light blue garage door pieces.

Brütal Legend is the satirical video game about heavy metal that was remarkably well received, considering its unusual premise. Matt De Lanoy brings us the epic sculpture of the game’s hero, Eddie Riggs, who’s voiced in the game by none other than Jack Black, of course.

LEGO Overwatch sets coming, Activision Blizzard announces [News]
Today at the Licensing Expo 2018 in Las Vegas, Activision Blizzard has announced they’ve reached a licensing agreement with LEGO for the blockbuster game Overwatch, according to Business Wire. Overwatch is a first-person shooter with a loose sci-fi setting, breaking new territory for LEGO in their licensing agreements, as they’ve traditionally steered clear of such properties. The announcement comes amidst a slew of other new license partners for Activision Blizzard, including UNIQLO, Nerf, and more.
There’s no word yet on specifically what sorts of sets we’ll see from LEGO, but with LEGO’s theme-crossing video game Dimensions finished, it’s certain this won’t simply be a small tie-in expansion pack. We hope they’ll be as cool as this yellow D.Va mech by TBB’s own Nick Jensen. And if you can’t wait to buy some official Overwatch sets, Nick has provided instructions for this mech in the link above.
3 new LEGO Minecraft sets announced, including a skeleton trap & skull arena [News]
LEGO has just announced three more sets to the incredibly popular Minecraft theme. Having spawned from an Ideas set designed by fans (including yours truly) the Minecraft theme now consists entirely of minifigure-scale sets with lots of animals. Each set has an emphasis on modularity that’s consistent with Minecraft’s aesthetic.

This PvP arena set includes lots of rare features like Minecraft’s infamous Killer Bunny (a Monty Python reference), along with a golden apple, though it’s unclear if it’s enchanted or not. For LEGO builders, it’s worth noting the pearl gold 2×2 bricks, which is a new color for one of LEGO’s most common elements. This set includes a pair of player minifigures.

Over the years, our friends at TT Games have hired many readers of The Brothers Brick, and now they are looking for one more LEGO builder to join their team. If you want to build with LEGO for a living and learn how to put those models into a game, then this is the opportunity for you.
The role is for a Junior LEGO Model Designer in TT Games’ UK offices. The company has hired several LEGO builders before, including Carl Greatrix and the Arvo Brothers. But don’t be put off by any computer technical stuff, because they’ve had several successful applicants who couldn’t even use computers who have gone on to build some of the most incredible LEGO models for their games.

Does this LEGO Loot Llama from Fortnite bring bricks?
You know you’re in for a lucky run if you encounter the magical Loot Llama in Fortnite. Stocked with all sorts of useful materials and items, this wandering rainbow beast adds yet another zany element to the hit battle royale-style game, and it was begging to be turned into a LEGO model. Mike Nieves has done an excellent job of just that, capturing its many hues and even the wild-eyed expression and untamable tail. The studs-out technique works especially well here, adding fluff to the wool.
Fallout’s Red Rocket truck stop built in LEGO
Immediately recognisable to anyone who’s played Fallout 4 — or saw any of its promotional material — here’s a LEGO build of the iconic Red Rocket truck stop by Allan Corbeil. The 50s retro diner aesthetic is captured perfectly, but so is the game’s signature air of neglect and decay — no mean feat to render effectively in pristine plastic bricks. The rocket itself is an obvious highlight, but don’t miss the brilliant shaping of the girder supports beneath…

The most talented artist in all of Dream Land
I feel the nostalgia for Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, one of my favorite games as a kid, with Anton Sundström’s build of Kirby’s artist ally Adeleine. She has the ability to make her paintings real and often paints the maximum health tomato, like Anton portrayed here. In LEGO bricks, Adeleine is just as lively and adorable as she is in game.
Scorch is the final LEGO Titan
Shortly before the release of Titanfall 2 in October 2016, talented builder Marius Herrmann uploaded his first Titan build of Ronin. After that he went on to recreate the rest of the mechs from the game, but stopped short of Scorch. But now Scorch has been completed, and it may be the best of the bunch.
Like the other Titans, Scorch was done in his base colour, which translated into mostly light tan. But the amount of added detail from black, dark tan and a few printed pieces make this far from boring. The overall shaping is just about perfect but it’s the small details that make this build so incredible. This continues around the back of the build and you can spend a long time staring at this and pointing out all the great parts usage. The only thing that’s really missing is the thermite launcher, but that’s more than forgiven here.
The notoriously overpowered Halo magnum replicated in LEGO [Video]
I grew up playing lots of first-person shooter games. Even with great shooters in recent memory like Titanfall, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Overwatch, my favorite remains the Halo series. There’s nothing too complex about classic Halo multiplayer, which I have always appreciated. To show my fandom of one of my favorite games, I present a LEGO replica of the M6D Magnum from the original Halo: Combat Evolved from 2001.
