The set contains 352 pieces and features not only instructions to build a fish tank, but also those for an art easel with macaw painting and a treasure chest with accessories. It was just launched on June 1st in Europe and will be available August 1st in North America priced at US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £24.99. This Once-ler House LEGO creation is a whimsical homage to Dr. Seuss

Inspired by the 2012 film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, this LEGO creation by Pieter Dennison is a whimsical homage. Right away we’re drawn to the top of the Once-ler House with expertly placed shingles; they’re made from complementary colors and placed in a way to give it a slightly off-kilter, dilapidated effect. The choice to use a more muted green for the base works and brown Technic axle connectors for the tree stumps works well for this build.

First LEGO set from Marvel Studios “What If...?” revealed; 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man [News]

Thanks to Amazon, we’re getting a look at the first set based on Marvel’s upcoming alternate-universe animated show What If…? that’s set to air on Disney+ starting in August. 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarin Iron Man features a strange version of what appears to be the Hulkbuster armor cobbled together from Sakaarian scrap. Sakaar is the junk planet that Thor, Loki, and Hulk were stranded on in Thor: Ragnarok. The 369-piece set includes Valkyrie and The Watcher, along with Tony Stark sporting an alternate-universe Metallica shirt with an easter-egg throwback for fans of classic LEGO themes such as Exploriens. There’s no word yet on the specific release date or price.

I’ll build my own LEGO Bender! With blackjack and hookers!

Futurama? In LEGO? Shut up and take my money! LEGOfolk built everyone’s favourite potty-mouth robot, Bender Bending Rodríguez! The simple and elegant grey build perfectly conveys Bender’s physique along with iconic, instantly recognisable head. In other words, LEGOfolk really nailed Bender’s “shiny metal ass!” But my favourite aspect is how Doc Ock’s new tentacles in the Daily Bugle set inspired the arms and legs. Such a simple combination of LEGO elements really allow for great poseability! I certainly can see this technique becoming the norm for appendages of this style!

LEGO 10289 Bird of Paradise designer Chris McVeigh talks about his design [News]

LEGO’s new Bird of Paradise set, designed by Chris McVeigh (also known as powerpig) is part of LEGO’s Botanical Collection subtheme. When compared to the other two sets in this theme, Flower Bouquet and Bonsai Tree, Bird of Paradise is the largest with 1,173 pieces and retails for US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £89.99.

LEGO reveals 3 new Monkie Kid sets for summer 2021 [News]

Three new Monkie Kid sets, which will be released on July 1, are listed on LEGO.com. From the smallest to the biggest, the sets are Sandy’s Power Loader Mech (80025), Pigsy’s Noodle Tank (80026), and The Bone Demon (80028), a terrifyingly huge undead creature that glows in the dark and tips the scales at 1,375 pieces.

On the wild side with LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31121 Crocodile [Review]

Recently LEGO revealed the latest wave of Creator 3-in-1 sets. Right from the get-go this series looks to be pretty awesome, and now it’s time to see if they live up to the pictures! Per tradition, the line is showcasing at least one animal-focused kit, LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31121 Crocodile. The set contains 454 pieces and features not only instructions to build a crocodile, but also those for a snake or frog as well. LEGO 76237 Sanctuary II: Endgame Battle available for pre-order now [News]

Thanos’ spaceship from Marvel Avengers: Endgame, Sanctuary II, has been revealed as an upcoming LEGO set. The set consists of 322 pieces and 3 minifigures, Thanos, Captain Marvel and Iron Man. The ship spans 14 in. (36 cm) and it is 7 in. (18 cm) long. The official description says it is “small enough to grip in one hand, but large enough for epic adventures”. LEGO 76237 Sanctuary II Endgame Battle is available for pre-order now for US $39.99 | CAN $49.99 | UK £34.99 and will be shipping from October 1.

Hidden Secret of the LEGO Art World Map revealed [Feature]

Lego Designer Fiorella Groves put up a challenge to the world when she shared that a secret easter egg was hidden in plain sight across her LEGO 31203 World Map creation. In less than 24 hours, it seems we have an answer with some clever sleuthing from the LEGO detectives within the TBB social media fan base.

We like supercars as much as anyone else, but there’s something equally cool about vintage rides like this Volvo 240 estate by Jonathan Elliott (JE Brickworks). I mean, you’re in for a world of hurt if you try and move a couch on the roof of your Lamborghini. A model that deserves a closer look, this blue beauty has a tilted minifigure ice skate for the Volvo logo and particularly clever use of steering wheels for wheel rims.

In space, no one can hear crickets chirping

As a builder, I always strive to push the limits of LEGO building, with techniques and parts usage. Combined with my arts and design training, I’ve spent years studying elements and how they fit together. Despite my self-declared expertise, there will always be creations that just stump me. Especially small ones. Especially small ones built by my friend Tom Loftus (Inthert).

I first saw this spindly teal-and-white spaceship in person when we displayed creations together at the last English LEGO exhibitions before the COVID shit hit the fan. He explained to me in great detail how he built this small ship. He even took it apart and showed me an in-depth breakdown of how he built it. I didn’t understand a single thing. It’s like his builds have an IQ-lowering effect on me. Even two years later, after more and more breakdowns via calls and messages, I still don’t understand it. Do you though? I’m not sure, your mind may be just as blown as mine.
