Today we’re finishing up our look at the second wave of Nexo Knights sets. Check out the previous reviews here. The remaining sets are the two big sets in the Nexo Knights theme, 70322: Axl’s Tower Carrier and 70321: General Magmar’s Siege Machine of Doom.

Nexo Knights 70318: The Glob Lobber | 70319: Macy’s Thunder Mace | 70320: Aaron Fox’s Aero-Striker V2 [Review]

The next wave of Nexo Knights is upon us, and we’re continuing our review series. We’ve already reviewed the four Ultimate series Nexo Knights sets. The sets are available in some markets already, and should be widely available soon.

Today we’ll be looking at 70318: The Glob Lobber, 70319: Macy’s Thunder Mace and 70320: Aaron Fox’s Aero-Striker V2.

In wave one of Nexo Knights we got two £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 sets that weren’t in the Ultimates line. These two were 70310: Knighton Battle Blaster and 70311: Chaos Catapult. In my opinion, these were perfect little sets: for a small amount of money you were getting two minifigures and some nice new pieces. I think these trump most of the Ultimate sets and even 853515: Knights Army-Building Set or 853516: Monsters Army-Building Set due to their inexplicably high price here in South Africa (close to $30).

Forget the King, Clay needs a mech too!

I’m loving Nexo Knights, and it seems chubbybots is too — they didn’t just use the theme, they also created a great model.

claysmech05I really like this. Not only is it a competent mech model, but it would fit right into the Nexo Knights set range as a robot for the character Clay. While the amount of gray jars at first, it works well when you think of it as a suit of armour.

Nexo Knights 70331 Ultimate Macy and 70332 Ultimate Aaron [Review]

LEGO’s new Nexo Knights line has launched and is finally available. We’ve already reviewed two of the medium-sized sets from this line, but some of the little sets intrigued me. Each of the named characters has an Ultimate version, available as an individually boxed set for $10 USD. Part counts range between 65 and 101. Six characters are available now, and at least three more are in the pipeline.

I decided to start with 70331 Ultimate Macy and 70332 Ultimate Aaron.

LEGO Nexo Knights Merlock 2.0 iOS / Android App released [News]

The LEGO Group have released NEXO Knights Merlock 2.0 App for Android and iOS. The app is free and there are no in-app purchases (phew!). Don’t forget to read our review of the physical Nexo Knights sets, too.

Nexo Knights App 3

Game back-story: The game is set in Knighton, a peaceful and beautiful kingdom, where amazing technology reigns supreme and life has been good  for 100 years. That is, until the evil jester Jestro lets loose the ‘terrible lava monsters‘ from the Book of Monsters. Only the five knights from the Knights Academy stand against the invading hordes of ‘terrible lava monsters‘, with the help of the digital wizard Merlok 2.0 who controls the NEXO Powers. They can have their powers upgraded to defeat the ‘terrible lava monsters’

Each of the NEXO knights come with their own shield, which can be scanned into the game to give their digital avatars new powers.  The app allows you to upload the various characters’ shield codes and additional codes into the game to “upgrade your power“.

Nexo Knights App 1

The codes are not only available by buying the NEXO Knight sets, according to the NEXO Knights FAQ, but also may be found in webisodes, mini-movies and many other places at Lego NEXO Knights Home. And, of course, they can be found in LEGO brand stores and on LEGO® NEXO KNIGHTS™ products. There is a power in each new episode of the LEGO® NEXO KNIGHTS™ TV-series and the LEGO Club Magazine.

Nexo Knights App 2

I’m off to play the game on my iPad now and to go on a powerhunt to find out if I can scan and upgrade my powers via the TBB Nexo Knights review shield image!
