Spice up your life with LEGO BrickHeadz 40548 Spice Girls Tribute [Review]

Let’s take a step back to 1996 – an innocent time when the world was full of boy bands, teen magazines, and MTV still played music videos. An unsuspecting world was informed in no uncertain terms what they really, really wanted: to zigazig-ah with the Spice Girls, courtesy of their first single, “Wannabe”. Since then, the Spice Girls have cemented themselves as a cultural phenomenon through music, movies, and, now, their very own LEGO BrickHeadz. Released as part of a trend of music-themed sets, like 21329 Fender Stratocaster Guitar and 31204 Elvis Presley Mosaic, the new Spice Girls Tribute BrickHeadz focus hit hard on mid-90s pop music nostalgia. But how does the set stack up against other BrickHeadz? Let’s dive in and take a look. 40548 Spice Girls Tribute will be available on March 1 from the LEGO Shop for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes 76209 Thor’s Hammer [Review]

Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor. That’s the inscription on Mjolnir, the powerful hammer that belongs to the Norse God of Thunder. Thor carried the weapon through almost every major conflict in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before its destruction in Thor: Ragnarok. But Mjolnir is set to return in a big way in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, and LEGO is giving the hammer it’s due with set 76209 Thor’s Hammer. This 979-piece set will be available March 1st for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £104.99. But is this set worthy? There’s only one way to find out. Like the Dwarves of Nidavellir, we have forged our own Mjolnir to carry into battle, and we’re going to tell you all about it.

LEGO reveals 10298 Vespa 125, an 1,100-piece model of the iconic Italian scooter [News]

After some rumors swirling online recently, today LEGO has officially revealed the latest Italian style icon to receive the brick treatment with 10298 Vespa 125. The peppy little scooter is nearly synonymous with 20th-century Italian culture and follows 2020’s 10271 Fiat 500 (and last year’s blue Fiat 500) in bringing a taste of Italy to your LEGO vehicle collection. Although the Vespa’s style has changed little over the decades, the new set is based on the 1960s version and comes in the same light blue as the second Fiat set. At 13.5 inches long (35cm), the scooter features a removable engine cover and comes with a helmet and basket of flowers. The Vespa 125 will have 1,106 pieces and will retail for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99 when it goes on sale March 1.

LEGO Art 31205 DC Jim Lee Batman Collection – Plenty of black and some very, very dark grey [Review]

When LEGO announced that they were expanding their LEGO Art line to include Jim Lee’s Batman art, there was a certain amount of “well, that was inevitable” to the news. Batman is one of the most iconic super heroes in the world, and it was only a matter of time before LEGO expanded from their minifigure-scaled movie tie-in sets and Technic offerings into the “adult collector” area. LEGO Art 31205 DC Jim Lee Batman Collection will be available starting March 1, for US $119.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £104.99. The 4167 pieces in this set can be used to create the grim visage of the caped crusader, or can be rebuilt into a portrait of either the Joker or Harley Quinn. Come along as we take a close look at the set’s ups and downs, and see just how arty this Bat-Mosaic really is.
