LEGO Ideas 21334: Jazz Quartet – Dig these crazy sounds, Daddy-O [Review]

Back in April of 2020 we featured a creation by builder  Hsinwei Chi (LEGO7): A group of very hip musicians. Great stuff…and apparently LEGO (and the wider fan community) agreed. Thanks to a successful campaign via the Ideas program, this ensemble is about to hit the shelves as LEGO Ideas 21334: Jazz Quartet. Featuring a combo made of a pianist, bassist, trumpeter and drummer, this 1606 piece set will be available for VIP members starting June 28th (and July 1st for everyone) for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99. Take an early seat in the front row and see if this riff appeals to you!

The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.

Behind the scenes of LEGO Monkie Kid [News]

Earlier today, LEGO revealed Monkie Kid, a brand new theme based on the Chinese Monkey King fable. The new theme includes eight sets and an animated television series. Along with all the information about the new sets, LEGO also sent us a gallery of photos showing a behind-the-scenes look at the development process of the new product line.

Familiar faces include LEGO designers Justin Ramsden (Hogwarts Castle, The Upside Down), Nick Vas (Ninjago City), Chris Perron (1989 Batmobile), Simon Lucas (Ninjago Movie), and more.

LEGO goes retro with designer video for Stranger Things [News]

LEGO has been having some fun with their designer videos recently, and this gem for the newly announced LEGO Stranger Things set 75810 The Upside Down turns the boombox’s awesome level up a notch. LEGO Designer Justin Ramsden (also part of the team of designers who bought us the gigantic Hogwarts Castle) flips the set over and over showcasing the strength of the build, while also rocking some amazing puns in this video designed to look like a long-lost interview recorded on VHS in the 1980s.

LEGO Stranger Things 75810 The Upside Down comes with 2,287 pieces (read our full review here) and will retail for US $199.99 | CAN $269.99 | UK £179.99. It is available beginning tomorrow for LEGO VIP members, with a full release coming June 1.
