LEGO Ideas 21343 Viking Village revealed [News]

French retailer Fnac have given us an early glimpse of the next LEGO Ideas set: 21343 Viking Village. The original Ideas submission by user Brickhammer did reach the magic 10,000 supporters number, but didn’t make it past the reveiw stage. However, last year it was part of a vote conducted between LEGO and US retailer Target to bring back one of these sets. The submission will finally see the light of day over 3 years after its original submission. With 2,103 pieces and four minifigures, the set is expected to hit Fnac’s shelves on October 1st, for an estimated US $139.99 | CAN $TBD | UK £TBD.

LEGO reveals The Insect Collection as the next LEGO Ideas set [News]

Introducing 21342 LEGO Ideas The Insect Collection, originally conceived by LEGO fan José Maria, from Spain. The set itself consists of a blue morpho butterfly, a Hercules beetle and a female Chinese mantis. The insects are accompanied by a small honeybee and a seven-spotted ladybug. Each one of the main bugs comes with their own buildable habitat. To celebrate the launch, the LEGO group will be accompanying the set with a new nature-inspired ASMR playlist called Green Noise. The playlist is created in partnership with award winning and Emmy-nominated Foley artist Sanaa Kelley. It can be enjoyed online at LEGO.com/insects. LEGO debuts its new comprehensive loyalty program: LEGO Insiders [News]

Today, LEGO is announcing a new loyalty program for adults, set for launch in a week on August 21st. LEGO Insiders will not only replace the existing VIP Rewards program, but also merge other LEGO entities like LEGO Ideas and LEGO Life into a single account. This means one username and password to manage, no matter which LEGO service you’re accessing. LEGO has stated their goals as increased ease of access, a lower the barrier to entry into their loyalty program, and benefits that expand beyond those currently offered by the VIP Rewards system. You’ll be able to create a new account using this link, or by scanning designated QR codes at LEGO stores starting on the 21st. Unlike with VIP, where talk of the program was largely contained to the register or their website, expect this new system to be broadly advertised.

LEGO unveils 2,083-piece Airbus Concorde model in the Icons line [News]

Did you hear that sonic boom? That was the sound of LEGO unveiling the latest addition to the Icons line-up: the world’s first supersonic airliner, 10318 LEGO® Concorde. Despite having retired from operational service 20 years ago, it has endured as a popular image of luxury air travel. The LEGO set probably won’t fly as fast as the real thing (at least not under its own power), but does feature deployable landing gear, a detailed interior, and of course the ‘droop nose’. With a shade over 2,000 pieces, 10318 LEGO® Concorde will be available from LEGO.com and in stores starting September 7 (with early access September 4 for VIPs) for US $199.99 | CAN $259.99 | UK £169.99.

71039 Marvel Series 2 Collectable Minifigures revealed on LEGO.com [News]

The next round of collectable minifigures 71039 LEGO® Minifigures Marvel Series 2 has re-appeared LEGO’s Shop-at-Home website, likely for good. The collection features such mutant icons as Storm, Beast, and Wolverine from the upcoming X-Men ’97 series on Disney+, along with those from other streaming MCU series like Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Hawkeye. From pictures on the website, the packaging for this series will utilize the blind box instead of the feeler-friendly bags discontinued in Series 16. This roster of 12 super heroes and villains will be available on September 1, and will retail for US $4.99 | CAN $5.99 | UK £3.49.

LEGO Star Wars 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship revealed [News]

LEGO.com has published detailed about the forthcoming 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship. Clone Wars fans have been eating well recently, yet the Republic Gunship had only been recently available as a UCS set. However, that’s been changed as of today. Consisting of 1,083 pieces, the craft is in the unusual colour scheme of the Coruscant Guard, which featured in a handful of episodes in season six of the Clone Wars – as did most of the minifigures included, among them Padmé Amidala and Clone Commander Fox. Together with the Ahsoka sets unveiled at SDCC, this set will be available starting from the 1st of September. While pricing in some regions is still unconfirmed, the price according to LEGO.com was US $139.99 | CAN $179.99 | UK £TBD.

Summer 2023 LEGO Star Wars sets unveiled at Comic-Con, including buildable Chewbacca and Ahsoka series playsets [News]

San Diego Comic Con today saw LEGO reveal three upcoming sets in the Star Wars product line. Ahead of the hotly-anticipated Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ in a little over a month, we get two colourful sets depicting starfighters old and new from the Star Wars universe. The T-6 Jedi Shuttle makes its first appearance in a LEGO set since 2012, while the E-wing makes its first appearance in New Republic colours alongside an all-new ship for antagonist Shin Hati. Shin is herself part of a minifigure line-up featuring many of the Ahsoka series’ main characters. In addition to these two playscale sets is a buildable Chewbacca, depicting the lovable wookiee in a 2,000-piece, 18″ (46cm) sculpture. All three sets are available for pre-order now from LEGO.com, and will be released this coming September 1st.

LEGO reveals 76417 Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition, available this fall [News]

Earlier today, LEGO announced the next set in the Harry Potter theme: 76417 Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition. Consisting of 4,803 pieces, this mammoth construction features both the above-ground wizarding bank and the catacomb of vaults below. All told, the set is an impressive 29.5″ (75 cm) tall, 12.5″ (32 cm) wide, and 10″ (25 cm) deep, and comes with 13 minifigures including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Bellatrix, and Griphook. The set also includes the iconic Ukrainian Ironbelly that the Golden Trio ride out of the top of Gringotts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Designed to be compatible with 75978 Harry Potter Diagon Alley, 76417 Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition will be available for purchase through LEGO stores and their website on September 4 (September 1 for VIPs), and will retail for US $429.99 | CAN $559.99 | UK £369.99.

Made from 1,478 pieces, this heavily-detailed mechanical marvel is 17.5″ (44 cm) long and 9.5″ (25 cm) tall. The bike is outfitted with a working suspension, a 4-cylinder engine, and 3-speed transmission, so it’s ready for a spin when you take it off the included display stand.
