LEGO Star Wars 2025 sets revealed, including buildable Grogu and Clone Wars starfighters [News]

Thanks to German retailer JB Spielwaren, we’ve been given a look at some new LEGO Star Wars sets slated to come out in the new year. The headline set is 75403 Grogu with Hover Pram, with just over 1,000 pieces making up the Child, his pushchair and a blue frog. For fans of the Clone Wars, there is a new ARC-170 starfighter alongside Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor, plus a midi-scale Acclamator Assault Class ship. The Original Trilogy’s Home One starcruiser also gets the midi-scale treatment. A version of Mando’s N1 Starfighter for young builders rounds out the wave.  All sets are will be released on January 1, 2025. Be sure to let us know if the comments if you think the Force is strong with the January lineup!

This little Star Wars astromech is bursting with personality

Everyone’s favorite little droid with a huge personality is back in brick form, built in LEGO by Ron McPhatty. Ron has managed to pack an impressive amount of detail into Chopper’s diminutive stature using solid building techniques. That yellow 1×1 tile on Chopper’s chest perfectly matches the original design, and the 2×2 triangular tiles match his patchwork metal plating. Ron also models a variety of Chopper’s exposed internal components with various LEGO pins, bars, and bushes.

Even better, Ron has built Chopper to be in-scale with the new LEGO R2D2 set and provided Chopper with some added accessories that model his middle wheel and head arms. I’d argue that hijinks are un-a-droid-able!

Dark master and apprentice from Ahsoka strike a LEGO pose

I can guarantee a spoiler-free take on this LEGO version of the antagonists from the new Ahsoka series on Disney+, mostly because I haven’t had time to watch it yet. So forgive me if I don’t yet know the significance of Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati yet, built here by Chi Hsin Wei. The capes on these two are brilliant, using curved slopes and technic panels to convey the proper cloth-like “flow.” Add to that their built-in poseability (made possible through tow ball joints, bars, and clips) and this duo is certainly ready for action! Perhaps we’ll be treated to the duo on the other side of this Force in a future build, and hopefully by then I’ll be all caught up on episodes.

Ben’s been up to “something, something Star Wars”

The variety of amazing builds we feature here at The Brothers Brick certainly leaves me (Ben Dodds) inspired to go and try out some of the ideas we see. And whilst work has kept me busy these last few months, any free time I’ve had has been spent running away from screens and into the LEGO drawers (amid actual running!). In this small free time that I have had, I’ve found myself building Star Wars vignettes. They’re small, and the challenge is to get as much in the scene without it looking cramped. One such scene is well timed with the release of the Ahsoka series and revisiting the Rebels team. Here, with the Rebels figures I have, we find the Spectre team mid-heist in a face off against pursuit unknown.

With each build I try to give myself a challenge. And here, I wanted to see what I could build with curved Roller Coaster rails. For this, I looked to turn them into a stairwell, and this little scene grew from there, using the escalator pieces as the stairwell itself. Making the limited connections work was a challenge, but it adds a central focus to the build while also allowing me to furnish the build with a water feature. I also added a flourish of vegetation to detract from the inevitable grey that was unescapable here. It is LEGO Star Wars after all!

Summer 2023 LEGO Star Wars sets unveiled at Comic-Con, including buildable Chewbacca and Ahsoka series playsets [News]

San Diego Comic Con today saw LEGO reveal three upcoming sets in the Star Wars product line. Ahead of the hotly-anticipated Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ in a little over a month, we get two colourful sets depicting starfighters old and new from the Star Wars universe. The T-6 Jedi Shuttle makes its first appearance in a LEGO set since 2012, while the E-wing makes its first appearance in New Republic colours alongside an all-new ship for antagonist Shin Hati. Shin is herself part of a minifigure line-up featuring many of the Ahsoka series’ main characters. In addition to these two playscale sets is a buildable Chewbacca, depicting the lovable wookiee in a 2,000-piece, 18″ (46cm) sculpture. All three sets are available for pre-order now from LEGO.com, and will be released this coming September 1st.
