LEGO Star Wars 75314 The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle [Review]

During the final season of The Clone Wars that aired on Disney+ last year, one episode featured Clone Force 99, also known as the “Bad Batch.” Through that backdoor pilot, this group of misfit clone troopers got their own Disney+ series, with inevitable LEGO Star Wars tie-ins. The first (and so far only) LEGO set based on the TV show is 75314 The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle, which includes 969 pieces with five minifigures for US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £89.99. The set is available for pre-order now, and will be released on August 1st.

You may have seen our 10282 Adidas Originals Superstar set review a short time ago. We’ve also had the chance to review its mini counterpart, 40486 Adidas Originals Superstar, which will be available July 1 and is free with qualifying purchases of US $85 | CAN $85 | UK £85 in LEGO stores and on the LEGO website. LEGO Minions: The Rise of Gru 40511 Kung Fu Training [Review]

LEGO sets usually accompany new movies right before they hit the theaters, but the Minions theme has been the exception, in part due to the pandemic disrupting the film’s normal theater release, having been pushed back all the way to July of 2022. In the meantime, we’ve been getting various LEGO sets since early 2020, and now yet another will be making their way to store shelves. Today we are able to get a first look at 40511: Kung Fu Training (54 pieces). The price is not yet confirmed, but we expect it to retail for US $12.99 | CAN $16.99 | UK £11.99 when it’s available starting July 1.

Even though Minions 2: The Rise of Gru won’t be arriving on the silver screen until Summer 2022, you can still enjoy all of the dastardly villain fun with LEGO Minions sets. Several have already been released, such as 75546 Minions in Gru’s Lab, 75547 Minion Pilot in Training, and 75550 Minions Kung Fu Battle. This new accessory set adds to the chaos with a young Gru minifigure, the new Belle Bottoms minifigure, and two Minions.

LEGO Ideas 21327 Typewriter – Writing an old-school love letter [Review]

There’s just something extra classy about an old manual typewriter. Maybe it’s the retro styling, or the mechanical aspects, or maybe it’s just pure nostalgia. Whatever the case, the latest LEGO Ideas set (#35 in the series) offers fans a way to add a swanky 1:1 replica to their collection. LEGO 10282 Adidas Originals Superstar [Review]

We first learned about the collaboration between LEGO and Adidas last September when the teaser appeared on social media. Recalling some of the previous LEGO Wear products, the fans rightfully expected nothing more than several pairs of LEGO-themed running shoes in Adidas stores. Although the actual Adidas ZX 8000 sneakers were an instant hit, hardly could we see what the collaboration may bring in the future. As it turns out, LEGO designers saw a unique opportunity to take the partnership to the next level, building an Adidas Superstar sneaker with LEGO bricks. This way comes 10282 Adidas Originals Superstar, a 731-piece model of the most iconic Adidas shoe. The set will be available from July 1 for US $79.99 | CAN $109.99 | UK £79.99. And it’s so much more than just a building set: to understand better what actually this product is, we talked to Florian Müller, Senior Designer, who took the idea from the concept to the actual model in the box.

Fun at the fair with Creator 3-in-1 31119 Ferris Wheel [Review]

Over the years we’ve seen a decent amount of fairground and amusement-style sets. We’re always enthralled with moving creations and what says fun more than the fair? In particular, the best sets have been those in the unofficial fairgrounds subtheme within the Creator Expert line. Such models like the roller coaster, carousels (yes, plural!), and Ferris wheel are sure to make anyone smile! We can’t wait to see if another massive set joins the party, but in the meantime, we’ll explore an “all-in-one” day at the fair with LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31119 Ferris Wheel. This set consists of 1,002 parts and the instructions to complete a swing ride, bumper cars, and of course, an 8-seat Ferris wheel. LEGO Harry Potter 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets [Review]

Harry Potter has been at school for a long, long time. Even in LEGO minifigure form, he started at Hogwarts way back in 2001. That means that 2021 marks the 20th Anniversary of Harry’s LEGO journey, and this year LEGO is celebrating by branding the Harry Potter sets with a special logo and including exclusive gold versions of key characters in the sets. Today we’re looking at the biggest set from the new wave, 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets. Set in Harry Potter’s second year at Hogwarts, the set includes 11 minifigures, including several characters who have never appeared in minifigure form before: Professor Aurora Sinistra, Colin Creevy, and Justin Finch-Fletchley. On sale now, the set contains 1,176 pieces including 11 minifigures and will retail for US $129.99 | CAN $169.99 | UK £129.99.

Inspiring colorful creativity with LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31122 Fish Tank [Review]

The summer wave of LEGO sets are turning out to be a big hit, including this round of Creator 3-in-1’s. Recently LEGO revealed the latest wave of Creator 3-in-1 sets. Right from the get-go this series looks to be pretty awesome, and now it’s time to see if they live up to the pictures! Per tradition, the line is showcasing at least one animal-focused kit, LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31121 Crocodile. The set contains 454 pieces and features not only instructions to build a crocodile, but also those for a snake or frog as well. Ninjago fans have been celebrating the ten year anniversary of the theme, and LEGO is helping out with a new three-pack of BrickHeadz. Golden Lloyd, Nya Samurai X, and the Firstbourne Dragon all get the cubist treatment in Ninjago Legacy 40490: Ninjago 10 BrickHeadz . LEGO Art 31203: World Map – The biggest LEGO set ever [Review]

There are large LEGO sets, and there are really large LEGO sets. And then there are the ones that take things to an entirely different level. Say hello to the biggest LEGO set ever — LEGO Art 31203 World Map. At 11,695 pieces, this new LEGO Art mosaic is the largest set ever released, beating out the 10276 Colosseum by 2659 elements and the Star Wars 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon by more than 4000. But quantity doesn’t always match up with quality.
