LEGO sets usually accompany new movies right before they hit the theaters, but the Minions theme has been the exception, in part due to the pandemic disrupting the film’s normal theater release, having been pushed back all the way to July of 2022. In the meantime, we’ve been getting various LEGO sets since early 2020, and now yet another will be making their way to store shelves. Today we are able to get a first look at 40511: Kung Fu Training (54 pieces). The price is not yet confirmed, but we expect it to retail for US $12.99 | CAN $16.99 | UK £11.99 when it’s available starting July 1.
Banana! In preparation for the much-delayed cinematic release of Minions: The Rise of Gru later this year, The Brothers Brick was given a sneak peek at three LEGO Minions sets, so today we’re taking a quick look at 75546 Minions in Gru’s Lab (87 pieces | US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99), 75547 Minion Pilot in Training (119 pieces | US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £29.99), and 75550 Minions Kung Fu Battle (310 pieces | US $39.99 | CAN $49.99 | UK £34.99). These sets were revealed by LEGO more than a year ago and are now finally making their way to store shelves. All three sets will be available beginning April 26.
The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with early copies of these sets for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.
The Minions: The Rise of Gru movie has been pushed back to a 2021 release date, but don’t count 2020 out just yet: LEGO managed to release two themed sets before the cinematic world went into a holding pattern. Today’s we’re looking at the smaller of the two: 75549 Minions: Unstoppable Bike Chase (US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99) This 136 piece set is available now and comes with an exclusive Gru minfigure, two Minions and two small vehicles. These Minions sure are cute, but are they enough to build up some hype? Read on and see!
