The Chicken Man is finger licking’ good

Colonel Sanders is known for three things: delicious fried chicken, his southern charm and his white goatee. Wait a minute, this “Chicken Man” built by Centuri Chan has no goatee so maybe he’s not the colonel after all. Still, I want to get my greasy mitts all over that big bucket of fried chicken. Despite the lack of facial hair, this BrickHeadz style creation bears a resemblance close enough to call it finger licking’ good! And…If you like your music odd and performed by “conjoined twins”, (and who doesn’t, really?) then you may be thrilled to learn that this Chicken Man even has his own sound track courtesy of Evelyn Evelyn.

Hands-on with LEGO BrickHeadz 40377 Donald Duck & 40378 Pluto & Goofy [Review]

Donald Duck, Pluto, and Goofy — famous and much-loved, and yet somehow always relegated to the second-division of Disney characters behind Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Sure, the Disney Empire is The-House-The-Mouse-Built, but personally I’ll take Donald’s edgier attitude over Mickey’s slightly bland wholesomeness any day of the week. As for Goofy, he’s a classic clown, good for causing chaos and taking a painful pratfall — he’s always been one of my favourite of the Disney gang. Along with Pluto, Mickey’s pet dog, these are the latest Disney-themed releases in the BrickHeadz line of blocky figures. This new pair of sets will allow Disney fans to put together a wider BrickHeadz family of their favourite characters alongside the previously released Mickey & Minnie.

Goofy and Pluto will be available on 1st February and will be priced at US $14.99 | CAN $19.99 | UK £13.49 while the single build Donald Duck will be going for  US $9.99 | CAN $12.99 | UK £9.99

It’s a nice idea, and feels like it would make a great wedding gift for a LEGO-loving couple. But what are the sets actually like, and how many options are there for customising the figures?

The Brothers Brick are delighted to request the pleasure of your company at a wedding…

He Xaingu offers improved health and a sound mind

When we featured Cindy Su’s compelling Zhongli Quan figure, she clued us in that he was the first of the legendary Eight Immortals from Chinese mythology that she would build. Now we are enthralled all over again with this lovely He Xaingu figure who is here with her lotus flower to improve our mental and physical health. Her uplifting presence and her healing powers are much appreciated right about now.

八仙過海 ~何仙姑/ The 8 immortals passing the East Sea~ He Xiang (2/8)

Friends sets offer a much more feminine color pallet than your standard LEGO fare and Cindy demonstrates just how lovely that can be. Whether building a car fender, hot air balloon or, in this case, a lotus flower, these parts are proving to be an integral addition to anyone’s LEGO collection. We will patiently await the arrival of Cindy’s other six Immortals from Chinese mythology. In the meantime you can learn more.

The Mini Mandalorian

The third episode of The Mandalorian drops on Disney+ today, and we’re already seeing some fun LEGO Star Wars creations inspired by the new live action series. The Mandalorian is on the hunt in this fantastic BrickHeadz creation made by Greyson — once he’s set on bringing in your bounty, there’s nowhere to hide.

The Mandalorian

Greyson did an excellent job recreating the titular character in a miniaturized state, using flat pieces and sharp angles to bring out the same intimidating look that we’ve seen on screen. I thought it was great to see both the Mandalorian’s rifle on his back and his blaster pistol on his hip, small details that I’m glad weren’t left out.
