New orange spaceman joins the Classic Space LEGO minifigure lineup [News]

The old-school Classic Space astronaut is of the most beloved and iconic minifigures of the last 40 years, and later this year it will be available in orange for the first time. The figure will be an extra in the upcoming new edition of LEGO Minifigure: A Visual History from publisher DK. According to the Amazon UK listing, where it is available for pre-order, it will be available Oct. 1 for £30.00.

Originally available in black, blue, red, white, and yellow, the figure featured prominently in space sets for more than a decade across the 1970s and 80s. Recently, LEGO has been picking up on the nostalgia fans have for the simple spaceman and have been filling in the lineup with additional colors. In 2014 the Ideas set 21109 Exo Suit included a green version, and of course Benny from The LEGO Movie proudly wears an original blue suit. Last year for The LEGO Movie 2, he was joined by two rereleases of the white and yellow space figures, along with another new addition: the pink version, in 70841 Benny’s Space Squad. Now, DK’s new book adds an eighth color to the lineup, bringing us one step closer to having a space minifigure for every occasion.

Take a trip to Japan and the United Arab Emirates with the new LEGO Architecture 2020 sets [News]

If you’re not a fan of stage performances, but still want to go on a world tour, the new LEGO Architecture sets may find themselves on your 2020 shopping list. Two new sets, 21051 Tokyo Skyline and 21052 Dubai Skyline have just been revealed by Polish retailer Remix Kaja. It’s not the first theme’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, as 2016 saw 21031 Burj Khalifa set. This time, the tallest skyscraper in the world is surrounded by a number of other world-famous buildings. Unlike Dubai, this is the first appearance of the Tokyo landmarks in the LEGO theme. Naturally, the Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji are here along with other Japanese symbols — both architectural and natural. We expect both sets to be available in stores early January 2020.

LEGO Trolls: World Tour full set lineup revealed [News]

Today, LEGO took the wraps off the upcoming sets for the Trolls: World Tour movie, revealing seven tie-in sets. The film, starring Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, is slated to arrive April 17, 2020, but the LEGO sets will come much sooner with a release date of January (which likely means they will actually drop Dec. 26, like most of the other January-wave sets). The sets feature a solid dose of new elements to create all the zany Trolls, along with other new introductions like musical notes and new hot air balloon panels. We got a brief look at the LEGO Trolls minifigures last month, but now we can see the full sets. The line appears to include one 4+ (formerly known as Juniors) set, with the rest being traditional sets. LEGO provided some set images to Yahoo Entertainment (because apparently this is still 2005), while also revealing lifestyle images of each set on Instagram.
