You’d probably expect a lot of the posts on a LEGO website like The Brothers Brick to be about LEGO, and you’d be right. If you’re browsing this page, you might want to consider narrowing what you’re looking for by checking out categories like “Space” and “Castle.” We’re sure there’s something here that’ll fascinate and amaze you.

Top 10 life-size LEGO Star Wars creations [Feature]

Some LEGO builders took Star Wars building to a whole new scale with prop replica weapons you can hold, helmets you can wear, and even starfighters you can pilot. Let’s take a look at the top 10 Star Wars LEGO builds constructed in 1:1 scale that we’ve featured here on The Brothers Brick!

#10: Han Solo’s DL-44 Blaster Pistol

There’s just no match for a blaster at your side. Logan’s DL-44 replica is the perfect tool for shooting Greedo first.

#9: Millenium Falcon guitar

Metal cover of Imperial March intensifies. General Kkaebok’s Millenium Falcon guitar is certainly one of the most unique picks for Star Wars in 1:1 scale.

I say, I think you’ve spilled some Guardians of the Galaxy in my Star Wars!

Builder aido k says he just liked the colors on this wonderful LEGO rendition of a Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-2400, but I like to think this is what the Guardians of the Galaxy’s Milano would look like if they lived in a different galaxy.

Kingfisher YT-2400

The YT-2400’s design may look familiar, as it’s a cousin to the YT-1300, whose most famous example is the Millennium Falcon. In fact, Aido was inspired by the recent UCS Millennium Falcon, and has even whipped up a lovely information plaque to accompany the ship. Although the model is still just a digitally rendered version, Aido has plans to build the model with real bricks, and it looks as if he’s been careful to use only part/color combinations that exist. Now where’s our Jedi Groot?

We’re mesmerized watching Luke dodge Vader in this Death Star trench run kinetic sculpture [Video]

We recently featured a World War I dogfight kinetic sculpture by Jason from JK Brickworks. In his video, Jason promised to share variations on the theme, and he’s done so with this fantastic trench run scene from A New Hope. The little starfighters and greebly Death Star surface are excellent in their own right, but the movement takes this LEGO creation to the next level.

The video shows Luke’s X-wing evading Darth Vader’s TIE fighter, with turbolaser turrets swinging back and forth as well. Jason also takes the kinetic sculpture apart to explain how he added the extra motion for the turbolaser emplacements.

Happy Star Wars Day, kids!

Some crazy old space wizard once described the light saber as “an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age” — something that is clearly borne out by the plethora of civilized dismemberments seen in the Star Wars franchise. I was very pleased to see this tradition being continued in the latest installment, so much so that I decided to augment LEGO’s rather limited selection of Last Jedi BrickHeadz with one featuring a very special “play feature”…

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series 75181 Y-wing Starfighter [Review]

Each year, LEGO releases at least one new LEGO Star Wars set in its long-running Ultimate Collector Series line of large-scale sets. Last year saw the release of the monumental 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon (the largest LEGO set ever released at 7,541 pieces) as well as the excellent 75144 UCS Snowspeeder. This year’s UCS release is 75181 Y-wing Starfighter, built from 1,967 pieces, retailing for $199.99 starting on May the Fourth or “Star Wars Day” 2018.

Of course, this is not the first UCS Y-wing that LEGO has released — 10134 Y-wing Attack Starfighter was released fourteen years ago, way back in 2004. We’ll take a closer look at how this latest UCS Y-wing stacks up against the first one in our hands-on review.

There has never been a better time to fear spiders

If you’re afraid of spiders, look away now, because Leonid An built a particularly nasty one! This evil-looking mech combines arachnid and humanoid motives as it combines system and Bionicle parts from a technical viewpoint.

And the fierce dragon awaits

Earlier this year we wrote an article about two builders from Australia who came together to create an epic mythical scene. Their inspiration came from a Nordic legend about a pair of warriors who slay a fiery dragon. One of the builders, Ben Cossy, continues the tale with the dragon he calls “Yddreig the Red”. Now we have a snapshot diorama of the confrontation about to take place. It must have taken countless hours to create the incredibly detailed landscape, which features amazing rock work. Everything is positioned in a way that really brings it to life and sucks us straight into this fantasy world.

Confronting Yddreig the Red

One thing is for sure: our heroes look like they have quite the battle ahead of them to survive.

A 4×4 fit for an adventurer...and a puppy

Johnny Thunder would be proud of this epic ride from iamkritch. Named the Black Crow 4×4 (thanks to its special hood ornament), this off-road vehicle has just about everything you might need in traveling through the desert to an archaeological dig-site. The roof is covered in crates filled with useful tools, and there is even a fold-out awning to beat the heat on sunny summer days.

Prepare your 40,000 dice for battle

Warhammer 40,000 (40K) is a very iconic tabletop game, both with its gameplay and its unique art style. Said art style has inspired many builders to create LEGO Warhammer models, most recently Faber Mandragore with his Blood Angels Captain In Terminator Armour build. The chunky mecha and monsters with oversized weapons and edgy elements are just charming in a twisted way.

Blood Angels Captain In Terminator Armour

The builder has captured the feel of this style perfectly, even adding a little base much like the original figures. Various curves are achieved using all sorts of curved pieces – including car hood elements as oversized shoulderpads. I really like the hammer construction using gray ingot parts and the use of the U.F.O. alien helmet as the head.

Faber has also shared an armored Rune Priest, so perhaps we can look forward to a whole series of LEGO Warhammer units and character classes.
