LEGO Thor Love and Thunder 76207 Attack on New Asgard [Review]

This July, Thor Love and Thunder is bringing us two Thors for the price of one as Jane Foster returns with a godly upgrade to wield Mjolnir alongside our favorite Asgardian Avenger. Obviously, whenever a new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is on the horizon, the tie-in LEGO sets can’t be far behind. And LEGO is starting off with two Thor sets for a two Thor movie. We’ve already peeped a look at set 76208 The Goat Boat. Now it’s time to tackle the smaller set, LEGO 76207 Attack on New Asgard. Is this a worthy companion to The Goat Boat? Or, like Thor: The Dark World, is this a part of the franchise best forgotten? This 159-piece set will be available on April 26th from the LEGO Shop Online for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99 .

LEGO Thor Love and Thunder 76208 The Goat Boat [Review]

This July, with the release of Thor Love and Thunder, Thor becomes the first individual in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe to get a fourth feature-length film with his name in the title. But just because the Avengers aren’t around, it doesn’t mean Thor is flying solo. His longtime love interest Jane Foster will return to wield Mjolnir herself. At their side will be fan-favorite Korg and the king of New Asgard, Valkyrie. And they’ll all be up against Gorr the God Butcher who, I assume, will be looking to butcher himself some gods. That’s bad news for our favorite Asgardians. The good news is that Taika Waititi is back in the director’s chair, and it’s a safe bet he’ll be bringing the same blend of action and whimsy that he delivered in Thor Ragnarok. Who else would make a movie with as bizarre a tie-in set as LEGO 76208 The Goat Boat? But bizarre might be just what the doctor ordered after countless MCU tie-in sets featuring mostly SHIELD vehicles and spaceships. LEGO Marvel Superheroes 76209 Thor’s Hammer [Review]

Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor. That’s the inscription on Mjolnir, the powerful hammer that belongs to the Norse God of Thunder. Thor carried the weapon through almost every major conflict in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before its destruction in Thor: Ragnarok. But Mjolnir is set to return in a big way in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, and LEGO is giving the hammer it’s due with set 76209 Thor’s Hammer. This 979-piece set will be available March 1st for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £104.99. But is this set worthy? There’s only one way to find out. LEGO announces The Goat Boat from Thor: Love and Thunder [News]

Today, LEGO reveals online a new Marvel Super Heroes set, 76208 The Goat Boat. Inspired by the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder movie, the new set brings all the main characters — Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie, Korg, and Gorr — and a massive longboat. The set priced at US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99, consists of 564 pieces and will go on sale April 26, 2022.

LEGO Marvel 76200 Bro Thor’s New Asgard unveiled [News]

LEGO unveils a new set from the Infinity Saga wave, 76200 Bro Thor’s New Asgard. The set features Thor’s living quarters after Thanos wipes out half the universe, shared with Korg and Miek. 2 minifigures are included in the set, Thor with all his glory (!) and Korg with his vacation outfit, as seen in the Avengers Endgame film. Miek is also included, built with a lavender head piece and two flower pieces.

Only the worthy can build this LEGO Thor’s Hammer

Truly, LEGO builder car_mp must be worthy, because this life-size version of Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer, looks ready to demolish some dark elves or maybe just pin Thanos to the ground. Although it’s not a complex technique, the stacked brown and grey elements look great for the banded leather handle, while the smoothly tiled hammerhead itself seems to have the proper heft. Indeed, no doubt most of the 765-piece model’s complex building techniques are hidden deep within because it’s no small feat to get such a large weight to stay on the handle like that and not immediately fall off. The builder notes that it can be hefted, but does require some care.

Minifigures and Mechs – More LEGO Marvel Armor arrives in January [Review]

LEGO recently announced a slew of new Marvel sets that will be available January 1, 2021. Among them are three Mech Armors – smaller sets that feature a minifigure of a popular character and a minimalistic suit of power armor they can stomp around in.  This wave includes 76168 Captain America Mech Armor (US $9.99 | CAN $13.99 | UK £8.99),  76169 Thor Mech Armor (US $9.99 | CAN $13.99 | UK £8.99), and 76171 Miles Morales Mech Armor (US $9.99 | CAN $13.99 | UK £8.99). At first glance, these sets look a little spindly and low-quality, but is that actually the case? Could these be tiny toys be big wins for LEGO and Marvel fans? We’ll walk through the highs and lows of each set, so you can judge for yourself!

New Marvel 2021 LEGO sets featuring Spider-man, Captain America, Thor and Iron Man [News]

Marvel fever is back again in 2021 and we get a first look at upcoming sets revealing the Avengers and Spider-Man. Buildable Mechs are a theme while the smaller playsets feature an assortment of vehicles. A set featuring Spider-Man’s liar is the largest set in this lineup. This wave of Marvel will be on sale on January 1st 2021.

A LEGO Stormbreaker fit for an Asgardian king

Riley Scott fancies himself the “Tony Stark of LEGO”. However, his latest creation positions him to take the title of Dwarf King currently held by the lonely Eitri.

I think we’re past the point of spoiler warnings with Avengers: Infinity War already in its home video phase, so I’m just going to jump right into how perfectly this model recreates Stormbreaker after its unique birth. In the movie, the freshly-cast hammer and axe sections fall out of the mold, and with both Thor and Eitri unable to help complete the weapon angsty teen Groot finally jumps into action by grabbing the separate pieces and intertwining them with wooden tendrils. Compare the LEGO model to its completed appearance in Infinity War below: the contrast of the metal look against the more organic stacked round LEGO bricks and plates is stellar.

One more shot of the strongest weapon in Asgardian history, one we saw deal some major damage to Thanos in the climax of the film. Sadly, Thor should have gone for his head.

LEGO officially reveals sets for Thor: Raganarok [News]

A month ago we got our first look at the new LEGO sets for Thor: Ragnarok, with the official box art and a few images. Now, however, LEGO is officially announcing the sets as they become available globally beginning today, though oddly they don’t release in the US until August.
