LEGO Marvel Superheroes 76209 Thor’s Hammer [Review]

Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor. That’s the inscription on Mjolnir, the powerful hammer that belongs to the Norse God of Thunder. Thor carried the weapon through almost every major conflict in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before its destruction in Thor: Ragnarok. But Mjolnir is set to return in a big way in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, and LEGO is giving the hammer it’s due with set 76209 Thor’s Hammer. This 979-piece set will be available March 1st for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £104.99. But is this set worthy? There’s only one way to find out. Like the Dwarves of Nidavellir, we have forged our own Mjolnir to carry into battle, and we’re going to tell you all about it.

Building an Iron Man Gauntlet? It’s a snap! (maybe)

Building large-scale movie prop replicas actually isn’t easy at all, but Flickr builder Claudio Tavella makes it look like a snap. This 702-piece, Infinity-Gem-laden Iron Man gauntlet looks every bit as impressive as the real thing. There’s even a great video of it, showing off the full “in the round” view.  My favorite details are the curve at the wrist and the transparent cheese slopes as the gems. And, of course, that movie-accurate “snapping” pose.  Getting human shaping like that to read correctly is another tricky thing to reproduce well.

LEGO Iron Man Gauntlet

It feels like this would be a great companion set to the upcoming 7619 Infinity Gauntlet. We can only hope that when and if LEGO takes its own stab at this, the results are equally stellar.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 76191 Infinity Gauntlet revealed by Walmart [News]

Just as we got the first look at the official images of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes summer sets, Walmart lists one more product on their website, 76191 Infinity Gauntlet. A 590-piece replica of the most powerful weapon in the universe (at least within the Marvel cinematic one), the shiny gauntlet already comes with all six stones saving you a couple of trips around the galaxy and some tough fights. According to the listing, the set will retail for $69.99 in the US, but the availability dates are yet to be confirmed.
