David Pickett (fallentomato) presents his best brickfilms animation showing Lego bricks morphing into different objects. Each change from one object to another consists of many brick-built transition states that are shown for only a fraction of a second, and the results are well worth it. LUGPol proves that even their TFOLs can build with mad skills. Take Makorol and his Liebherr LTM 1050-3.1 mobile crane. I don’t feel qualified to guide you through all the details, but I will mention that like every LUGPol vehicle, adding Power Functions is obligatory (see the video). See more pictures on Brickshelf.
We never blogged the first version of Zackhariah Macasaet‘s motorized M1A2 Abrams Tank, so it’s a good thing he posted a better version. This is one sturdy war machine that can handle a variety of obstacles including crossing large gaps, climbing a mound of nails, and even stand from being dropped! Unveiled at Brickworld earlier this evening, 10212 Imperial Shuttle brings large-scale models back to the LEGO Star Wars line.

For the past two months Tyler (Legohaulic) and I have been working on a collaboration project for Brickworld. We wanted to present our distinguishable styles in a cohesive sci-fi diorama. At the same time, we strove for the unprecedented by incorporating lights, motion, and even music (through built-in iPod speakers) on top of a dark tan and sand green color scheme. We are proud to present Containment.
Our creation depicts a one man operated biosphere processing facility towering over an alien wasteland. The two worlds are separated, but one question can be asked for both: which one is contained? While it seems apparent that the primitive aliens are kept out of the advanced and sterile facility, another look reveals the absolute isolation of the operator. Our teasers introduce the backstory for the creation.

I’ve been catching a few minutes of the World Cup every morning before heading into work, but watched the complete US-England game over the weekend. Naturally, there’s a LEGO version.

It’s rare I get to use the ‘Technic’ category but when good technical design appears on a train even Technic-challenged me can appreciate it. Esben Kolind gives his commuter train a whole lot more fun with working doors and, as though that wasn’t impressive enough, a sliding step. And he does all this on a well detailed six-wide train. Incredible only begins to describe my feelings.

Adam (horseattack) built a printer out of only Lego bricks and some electronics. The most impressive part is the mechanism of the machinery that drives this thing. Check out the video:
This is no toy kids, this circular saw by Dave and John Xandegar may be built from Lego bricks, but the blade is real! For safety precautions, the blade tips have been removed and the device is programmed to stop if you touch it.
In regards to the Technic builder Peer (Mahjqa) Kreuger, I’ve come to expect the unexpected in the functional creations that one can make out of Lego. His latest Stilzkin Bridge Launcher is a vehicle that carries and deploys its own bridge to cross a chasm. Check out this must-see video for the entire action footage.
The announcement yesterday of 10213 Shuttle Adventure is followed today by an interview with Simon Kent, the Creative Lead who worked with Designer Steen Sig Andersen to create the set. Watch the video right here on The Brothers Brick:
