BrickHeadz debuted in 2016 as a new way for LEGO fans to build and display their fandom and creativity. As of 2024, LEGO has released over 250 BrickHeadz characters, sold either individually or in groups. While most BrickHeadz are based on characters from pop culture, like Marvel comics, Disney films, or Lord of the Rings, LEGO also releases BrickHeadz tied to holidays, as well as a kit to make a BrickHeadz character of yourself! As all BrickHeadz share a common size and style, creating your own can be a fun way to share your love for a favorite character.

Unless your name is Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles, being given the orange flight suit of a Star Wars rebel pilot must be a little like getting a red shirt on Star Trek — chances are, you’re not going to survive to the end of the battle. Koen offers a great LEGO Brickheadz-styled take on one of these everyday heroes of the Rebellion. The model’s helmet is fantastic, managing to adopt the blocky-aesthetic whilst remaining remarkably accurate to its inspiration. Nice use of printed tiles for the chest plate too. Whilst Koen leaves his pilot anonymous, the figure does sport a quite magnificent 70s-style moustache. As a result, unless anyone tells me otherwise, I’m going to assume this is Luke’s childhood friend Biggs Darklighter — Red 3.

First look at the new Disney Little Mermaid BrickHeadz and more [News]

BrickHeadz is going under the sea, as today LEGO has published pictures of this new pair of characters from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Ariel and Ursula are joining Beauty and the Beast in bringing classic Disney tales to the collectible figure theme. 41623 Ariel & Ursula will have 361 pieces and will be numbered 64 and 65 in the BrickHeadz series, and although there’s no definitive word yet on the pricing, we expect it to be on par with previous two-packs. LEGO’s also given us a better look at the new BrickHeadz from Frozen that we announced last week, now including the box art. Check it all out below.

Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from Frozen are joining a growing LEGO Disney BrickHeadz family [News]

Do you want to build a snowman? — ask no more as cute little Olaf will be one of three new Disney characters to be released in upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz sets. According to the most recent LEGO Facebook announcement, two new Disney sets are to be released very soon, bringing Olaf, Anna, and Elsa figures in the style of BrickHeadz.

The smaller of two sets will contain the figure of Elsa only, while the bigger one will include Anna and Olaf, whose head design is based on a 3x3x3 cube (rather than the traditional BrickHeadz size of 4x4x4 studs). Actually, this is not the first BrickHeadz figure to feature the new dimensions; Hedwig in the forthcoming LEGO Harry Potter 41615 BrickHeadz set is also designed in the similar 3x3x3 format.

Prices, availability and piece count of both sets are yet to be announced.

Builder Swan Dutchman has a knack for making brick things cute. Featured here are the 3 key characters from Disney’s Little Mermaid with Ariel, King Triton, Ursula. What’s more to say that these are almost perfect in the representation of colours and features and build. They’re so friendly to the point where even you’d want to be friends with evil Ursula. You may also want to check these cuddly builds by the Dutchman from the animal kingdom.

New LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz revealed, including Darth Vader [News]

LEGO continues to roll out new entries to the BrickHeadz theme with some regularity, and the latest pair to be revealed hail from Star Wars. Though we’ve had a number of Star Wars characters before, this duo is representing the Empire with Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. Numbered as 55 and 56 in the series, we don’t have a specific release date for them yet, but we presume they’ll cost the same as previous BrickHeadz, at $10 per character. We’re also getting a look at the box art and series numbers, 62 and 63, for the Ghostbusters two-pack we revealed a few weeks ago.

The LEGO Group celebrates the Royal Wedding with adorable BrickHeadz copies of the Royal family [News]

Today is a huge day for the British Royal family and the whole country of Great Britain as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows and rings before the Queen and 600 guests at St George’s Chapel. The LEGO Group joins the army of well-wishers congratulating the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with a short and utterly funny video featuring both Prince Harry and Prince William and their families. Just look at Kate Middleton holding baby Prince Louis; what a lovely picture!

Rose and Jar Jar as BrickHeadz

When it comes to Star Wars fans, we have pretty strong feelings about many of the characters introduced over the years, which is evident in the wide variety of cosplay at comic and popular culture conventions. A few characters have generated serious hate, with Jar Jar Binks widely regarded as the worst Star Wars character ever. While I personally don’t have any issues with Rose Tico from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it seems some folks place her in the same category.

No matter how you might feel about Rose or Jar Jar, it’s hard to deny that they make great BrickHeadz models. LEGO 7 has successfully interpreted these characters in the style of the BrickHeadz theme, which is not an easy thing for non-human species.

One of my very favorite features that really completes Rose is her stun prod. LEGO 7 has also put together another pair of characters that would make a great BrickHeadz double pack: Sith Apprentice Darth Maul and his nemesis, Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.

LEGO Ghostbusters BrickHeadz Peter Venkman and Slimer revealed! [News]

Today is turning out to be quite the day for LEGO BrickHeadz fans as another new BrickHeadz set has been revealed by LEGO. This new 41622 Ghostbusters BrickHeadz set features Peter Venkman, Bill Murray’s character in the movie, and an adorable lime green slimer who appears to be enjoying some hot dogs. The set should be released this summer alongside the new Harry Potter BrickHeadz announced earlier today.

The magical world of LEGO Harry Potter is returning in 2018 with several sets to be released late Summer including the stunning 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall. We could hardly imagine a set better than the Hogwarts castle, but 3 brand new LEGO Harry Potter Brickheadz sets have just been unveiled and they are magically cute! The characters include Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, and adorable snowy owl Hedwig.

Hulkbusting out and I’m breaking ground

Hot on the heels of a LEGO Brickheadz-styled Back To The Future DeLorean, we get another “vehicle” for the blocky figures — a chunky chibi Hulkbuster Armour designed to fit Brickheadz Iron Man. This digital creation by ORION_brick is nicely done, with suitably beefy proportions and LEGO’s own Iron Man nestling comfortably inside.

We don’t feature a lot of digital renders on the Brothers Brick, generally preferring our LEGO models to be constructed in actual bricks. However, this is a cool idea and, unlike many digital creations, it doesn’t employ too many non-existent part/colour combinations.

Roadz? Where we’re going, we don’t need roadz

Every now and again, a LEGO model appears which could herald the beginning of a new building fad. jp_velociraptor‘s Brickheadz-styled Back To The Future De Lorean is one of those. Built to accommodate the chunky proportions of the official Brickheadz versions of Doc Brown and Marty McFly, it’s a chibi delight — immediately recognisable to fans, but skewed to fit perfectly with the blocky aesthetic. So come on Brickheadz fans — now we want to see a Batmobile or some Star Wars vehicles rendered in this style.

Avengers: Infinity War LEGO BrickHeadz: Iron Man, Thanos, Star-Lord, & Gamora [Review]

By now, nearly everyone is familiar with BrickHeadz: the chubby cubic caricatures of various pop culture franchise icons. Introduced in 2016 with four limited edition sets, BrickHeadz didn’t become widely available until last year, but in just that short time the theme has spawned 40 different characters. All BrickHeadz are numbered in the same sequence, regardless of the franchise they belong to, and the lastest lineup of superheroes hail from Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and are numbered 35-38, slotting in right before Han Solo and Chewbacca that we recently reviewed. The four sets have part counts ranging from 101 to 136, and each retails for $9.99 USD.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these superhero (and supervillain) characters. Although these characters are from Avengers: Infinity War, this review will be spoiler free.
