Skybound Entertainment and AMEET Publishing partner up to publish LEGO Comic Books in 2022 [News]

Skybound Entertainment announced that they will be partnering with AMEET Publishing to start publishing LEGO comic books in 2022. AMEET has already published quite a number of LEGO books for children, including activity books, story books and journals, some of them with minifigures or parts for small builds. As for Skybound Entertainment, you might be familiar with their parent company, Image Comics, who are known for comics like the Walking Dead and Invincible, among other titles.

Skybound will be announcing the LEGO IPs they will use in the next few months.

LEGO interviews employees and fans about inclusion and diversity [News]

With the release of the Everyone is Awesome set just in time for Pride Month, inclusion and diversity has become the spotlight everywhere, including at The LEGO Group. The company today has published a series of interviews with employees and fans, talking about how LEGO brings people together as well as inspiring creativity. The interviews are with the members of LGBTQIA+ community, including one of TBB’s own writers, Bre. The interviews focus on what being in an AFOL LGBTQIA+ community means to them, what companies can do to support the community, how they use creativity to express themselves, and what Pride Month means to them.

Summer 2021 LEGO Star Wars sets feature scenes & characters from The Clone Wars [News]

LEGO just revealed two Star Wars sets featuring scenes from The Clone Wars animated series. The sets will be available on August 1st 2021. The larger set features a Mandalorian Starfighter while the smaller scene features a throne room duel between Ahsoka and Darth Maul.

First LEGO set from Marvel Studios “What If...?” revealed; 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man [News]

Thanks to Amazon, we’re getting a look at the first set based on Marvel’s upcoming alternate-universe animated show What If…? that’s set to air on Disney+ starting in August. 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarin Iron Man features a strange version of what appears to be the Hulkbuster armor cobbled together from Sakaarian scrap. Sakaar is the junk planet that Thor, Loki, and Hulk were stranded on in Thor: Ragnarok. The 369-piece set includes Valkyrie and The Watcher, along with Tony Stark sporting an alternate-universe Metallica shirt with an easter-egg throwback for fans of classic LEGO themes such as Exploriens. There’s no word yet on the specific release date or price.

LEGO 10289 Bird of Paradise designer Chris McVeigh talks about his design [News]

LEGO’s new Bird of Paradise set, designed by Chris McVeigh (also known as powerpig) is part of LEGO’s Botanical Collection subtheme. When compared to the other two sets in this theme, Flower Bouquet and Bonsai Tree, Bird of Paradise is the largest with 1,173 pieces and  retails for  US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £89.99.

LEGO reveals 3 new Monkie Kid sets for summer 2021 [News]

Three new Monkie Kid sets, which will be released on July 1, are listed on LEGO.com. From the smallest to the biggest, the sets are Sandy’s Power Loader Mech (80025), Pigsy’s Noodle Tank (80026), and The Bone Demon (80028), a terrifyingly huge undead creature that glows in the dark and tips the scales at 1,375 pieces.

On the wild side with LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31121 Crocodile [Review]

Recently LEGO revealed the latest wave of Creator 3-in-1 sets. Right from the get-go this series looks to be pretty awesome, and now it’s time to see if they live up to the pictures! Per tradition, the line is showcasing at least one animal-focused kit, LEGO Creator 3-in-1 31121 Crocodile. The set contains 454 pieces and features not only instructions to build a crocodile, but also those for a snake or frog as well. LEGO 76237 Sanctuary II: Endgame Battle available for pre-order now [News]

Thanos’ spaceship from Marvel Avengers: Endgame, Sanctuary II, has been revealed as an upcoming LEGO set. The set consists of 322 pieces and 3 minifigures, Thanos, Captain Marvel and Iron Man. The ship spans 14 in. (36 cm) and it is 7 in. (18 cm) long. The official description says it is “small enough to grip in one hand, but large enough for epic adventures”. LEGO 76237 Sanctuary II Endgame Battle is available for pre-order now for US $39.99 | CAN $49.99 | UK £34.99 and will be shipping from October 1.

A 25-inch-high Elsa’s Ice Castle from Frozen is coming as the new LEGO Disney set [News]

There is no such thing as too many LEGO castles, so LEGO has just announced another one based on Disney’s Frozen. 43197 The Ice Castle set consisting of over 1,700 pieces will come with all the main characters — Anna, 2 versions of Elsa, Kristoff — all in the format of LEGO minidoll figures. Besides, the castle brings Olaf and even four LEGO Snowgie figures. The complete build stands more than 25″/65 cm tall, which is only 4″/10 cm shorter than the iconic LEGO Disney 71040 Cinderella Castle. The set is already listed online, and will available for purchase from July 1 for US $199.99 | CAN $269.99 | UK £199.99.
