LEGO BrickHeadz from Jurassic World – 41614 Owen & Blue [Review]

BrickHeadz are clearly here to stay, and no matter what your favorite film genre, there is a BrickHeadz character for that… or at least there will be someday. Now we can add the cloned dinosaur survival genre to that list with the recent announcement of 41614 Owen & Blue from the Jurassic World franchise. This set features our favorite velociraptor-whisperer, Owen Grady, along with Blue, the only surviving velociraptor from the recent installment of Jurassic World. The 41614 Owen & Blue two-pack set retails for $19.99 and includes 234 pieces.

LEGO 10759 Elastigirl’s Rooftop Pursuit from Pixar’s Incredibles 2 [Review]

Until now, The Brothers Brick hasn’t done a review of a Juniors themed set. But LEGO’s small wave of tie-in sets for Disney Pixar’s new Incredibles 2 movie will only feature Juniors sets, and since we can’t help but cover LEGO’s official sets based on one of our favorite superhero universes, we decided to pick up them up and see what Juniors has in store. We’ll start with 10759 Elastigirl’s Rooftop Pursuit. This set retails for $19.99 USD, with 95 pieces, including two unique minifigs: Elastigirl (Mrs. Incredible) and Screenslaver, and is available from LEGO Shop at Home.

This review will be mostly spoiler-free, but we can’t guarantee the set doesn’t give anything away.

Final Solo: A Star Wars Story LEGO set photos just in time for the latest trailer [News]

The LEGO Group have sent us the final LEGO Star Wars set photos for Solo: A Star Wars Story just as the final official trailer has hit the Internet. With the complete set of photos now in hand, this is the perfect occasion to take another look at the sets and compare them to the ships and machines as seen in the trailer. While some of the sets are already in stores, the rest go on sale this Friday, April 13th.

In addition to the amazing LEGO models created by builders all over the world, The Brothers Brick brings you the best of LEGO news and reviews. This is our weekly Brick Report for the second week of April 2018.

TBB NEWS, REVIEWS, & INSTRUCTIONS: LEGO announced a new UCS set, and we take a look at several sets from the upcoming Star Wars film, along with a peek at what’s coming for Harry Potter.

- Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series 75181 Y-Wing announced – LEGO took the wrappings off this new UCS set, bringing the venerable starfighter to large scale for the second time.
- Harry Potter teaser site revealed on LEGO.com – LEGO is preparing for the long-awaited return of the Harry Potter theme, and we’re getting another early look.
- Review of Star Wars 41608 Han Solo & 41609 Chewbacca – These lovable smugglers are back in BrickHeadz form, as the first two sets to be released from Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Harry Potter Teaser site revealed on LEGO.com [News]

With the return of one of the most anticipated franchises around the corner, LEGO has started preparing their site for the reveal of the Harry Potter original series along with the new Fantastic Beasts series. We’ve already gotten a look at the much-anticipated Hogwarts set, both with an official announcement and a hands-on examination, but we know there are more sets still coming. We’ll be sure to bring you more information as soon as its available.

LEGO BrickHeadz from Solo: A Star Wars Story — 41608 & 41609 Han Solo & Chewbacca [Review]

Adorably cute or cringingly ugly—no matter your position on LEGO’s BrickHeadz characters, there’s no denying they’ve struck a chord with a great many fans. Since the first BrickHeadz characters a few years ago, LEGO has rapidly expanded the cast of blocky brick-built figures. They’ve even just released a kit allowing you to fully customize your own—41597 Go Brick Me. But like nearly all the previous sets, the latest lineup mostly features characters from major franchises. And although Star Wars is arguably the biggest franchise of them all, the characters we’re looking at today hail from an offshoot: Solo: A Star Wars Story, which opens May 25. 41608 Han Solo and 41609 Chewbacca have 141 and 149 pieces respectively, and each retails for $9.99 USD, and are available now.

LEGO Star Wars UCS 75181 Y-wing Starfighter Announced [News]

You might want rearrange your Ultimate Collector Series to make some room for the new LEGO Star Wars UCS 75181 Y-wing Starfighter announced by LEGO today. As usual, the model is a stunning copy of the iconic spaceship, loaded with details, and can be displayed with a stand and info card. The model consists of 1967 pieces and features a Gold Leader minifigure and a R2-BHD droid. The set will cost US $199.99 / CA $249.99 / DE 199.99€ / UK £169.99 / 1799DKK and will be available beginning on Star Wars day, aka May the 4th, in LEGO stores and from the LEGO Shop Online with no VIP Early Access.

LEGO Imperial Patrol Battle Pack 75207 from Solo: A Star Wars Story [Review]

We continue our early look at the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets from Solo: A Star Wars Story, following our review of 75210 Moloch’s Landspeeder. Each new Star Wars movie spawns another batch of characters, including stormtrooper variants that generate another batch of Battle Pack sets. Solo is no different, with 75207 Imperial Patrol Battle Pack. The set includes four minifigures with 99 pieces and will retail on April 20th for $14.99.

Despite the official release date a couple weeks away, many brick-and-mortar retailers have begun stocking the sets on their shelves, and they’re also showing up from reputable online sellers. As with the previous LEGO Star Wars Solo set review, it’s unlikely that a LEGO set released ahead of the movie will contain spoilers, but without seeing the film or having reference books in hand yet, our speculation may cause unintentional spoilers for you.

LEGO Minifigure Factory set giveaway from the LEGO Store [News]

The promotional freebie from the LEGO Store for April 2018 is a Minifigure Factory (set number 5005358). The giveaway includes a LEGO factory worker, along with five micro-figures depicting classic LEGO themes. Orders over $75 are eligible, and the promotion runs from April 1st through April 20th (when the next wave of LEGO Star Wars sets from Solo hit stores), or until supplies run out.

The micro-figures include the original police officer from 1978, a LEGO Pirates fig with a striped shirt, a blue Classic Space fig, a Ninjago character called Pixel Rebooted, and a doctor from LEGO City.

LEGO Education launches BrickHeadz series with 41630 Trump & Putin double pack [Fake News]

Move over, pop culture, because LEGO Education BrickHeadz have arrived. LEGO today announced a new Politics@Play line of its popular BrickHeadz line, commencing with 41630 Trump & Putin. The double BrickHeadz buddy pack features the two world leaders, contains 279 pieces, and will retail for $29.99 USD beginning May 1.
