LEGO 41950 Lots of DOTS: Lettering – Just your type(face) [Review]

We’ve been taking a look at the new sets from the DOTS theme for Spring 2022, and found some serious ups and downs in the 41951 and 41952 Bulletin Board offerings. Now we turn our collective eyes towards a set designed to bring those two sets up a notch. LEGO 41950 Lots of DOTS: Lettering is available now for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99 | EUR €19.99. LEGO Speed Champions 76900 Koenigsegg Jesko – An obscure supercar [Review]

Speed Champions have been widely regarded as on of the best themes LEGO has to offer. Even if cars and similar vehicles are of no interest to you, these small display sets may have impressed you in one way or the other. LEGO Speed Champions 76900: Koenigsegg Jesko may look like the weaker sets from the Summer 2021 lineup, but it may be a long-awaited model of the Swedish car brand. It is still a great-looking LEGO car with an enjoyable build, and more importantly, it has fewer stickers than the average Speed Champions set. Coming in at 280 pieces and one minifigure, it is currently available for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99. Does this set convey LEGO’s love to its neighbouring automobile industry? LEGO Gift with Purchase 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute [Review]

The latest set in LEGO’s ongoing influential personalities, 40540 Jane Goodall Tribute, celebrates Dr. Jane Goodall, the famed scientist whose groundbreaking work has expanded our understanding of primates. Like previous influential personalities sets such as 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute and 40410 Charles Dickens Tribute, it features a small vignette on a display stand and is available only as a gift with purchase. This time around you’ll need to spend US $120 | CAN $TBD | UK £120 with LEGO between March 3 and March 15 in order to qualify. The set contains 275 pieces.

LEGO Harry Potter 76396 & 76397 Hogwarts Moments: Divination and Defense Classes [Review]

Last year we got four new Harry Potter books to add to our shelves celebrating the subjects taught at Hogwarts School. In addition to the initial Transfiguration and Potions classes, we were also given the Charms and Herbology lessons. These clever little sets expanded on previous Disney storybook playsets that provided younger LEGO fans with portable scenes and characters, and the translation to the Wizarding World has been fantastic. Back at again this year, LEGO is giving us two more lessons Tetris-ed in between custom printed covers. The first new lesson is 76396 Hogwarts Moment: Divination Class which has 297 pieces and comes with Professor Trelawney, Harry Potter, and Parvati Patil minifigures for US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £24.99. The next is 76396 Hogwarts Moment: Defence Against the Dark Arts Class with 257 pieces and Professor Moody, Hermione Granger, and Neville Longbottom minifigures for US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £24.99. The LEGO Technic theme is all about the fun of engineering, and what’s more fun and filled with mechanisms than a utility vehicle? But not another tow truck or crane or piece of construction equipment. No, we’re talking about the LEGO Technic 42139 All-Terrain Vehicle! It’s about time we’ve had a solid-sized ATV in the Technic lineup! So let’s not beat around the bush. Instead, let’s hit that throttle and get in the thick of it! Come along with us as we build and test this 764pc model’s many features. It just became available today, and retails for US $79.99 | CAN $99.99 | UK £64.99.

LEGO Harry Potter 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk [Review]

Now, this is something we haven’t seen before. At least in this form. Though it isn’t classified in the Hogwarts Momemnts line, this delightful little playset fits in well with the motif. The scaling is a bit off (it’d be more of a pencil case in comparison) but, what can you do? If I were 8 years old and in love with the Harry Potter franchise, I’d definitely lug this and the others around from daycare to my grandma’s house just to play. Don’t worry, though 76398 Hogwarts Magical Trunk may be 8+, there are a ton of great grabs in there for the pluses. Adults and kids can find one of the coolest sticker sheets ever laden with Harry Potter art, not to mention all the extra pieces, giving you tons of ways to customize your trunk and show your House pride. Oh, and I almost forgot about the plethora of minifigure heads and hairs to customize your own Hogwarts students. This 603-piece-set is available March 1st for US $59.99 | CAN $79.99 | UK £54.99.

LEGO City Space 60348 Lunar Roving Vehicle & 60350 Lunar Research Base [Review]

When I was a kid, the LEGO City line was one of my favorites (though it was called Town back then). But these days, between Star Wars and Ideas and massive Creator Expert sets and all the other cool themes I enjoy, I don’t often get the opportunity to build City sets. So I was excited when LEGO reached out to us about reviewing the latest wave of LEGO City sets, which focus on space exploration. Real-world space has long been one of the recurring City themes, along with firefighters and police and construction, with the first space shuttle set launching in 1990. This latest wave is inspired by NASA’s Artemis project, the planned mission to return to the moon by 2025 (the first Artemis I unmanned mission is planned for this spring). Today we’re looking at two sets in the middle of the range, 60348 Lunar Roving Vehicle with 275 pieces (US $39.99 | CAN $49.99 | UK £24.99), and 60350 Lunar Research Base with 786 pieces (US $119.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £89.99). Both sets will be available March 1.

LEGO Speed Champions 76906 1970 Ferrari 512M, 76907 Lotus Evija, and 76908 Lamborghini Countach [Review]

When the Speed Champions theme first launched in 2015, it was clearly targeted at younger builders, but over the years, the construction techniques, attention to detail, and the inclusion of some very popular racing car brands have steered the theme to a more adult audience (pun intended). The quality of the finished models is definitely shelf-worthy. LEGO has announced the latest wave of sets featuring brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Lotus, and Aston Martin. We got our hands on the entire wave, and we’re revving up to take a look at three of them. LEGO 76906 Ferrari 512 M, 76907 Lotus Evija, and 76908 Lamborghini Countach. LEGO Creator 40517 Vespa Scooter – “Sembra una vespa!” [Review]

On April 23rd, 1946, Enrico Piaggio filed the patent for the first Vespa. Now, over 75 years later, LEGO is celebrating this iconic scooter with a pair of brick-built tributes. LEGO Technic McLaren Formula 1 Race Car – A replica worth buying? [Review]

We all know that LEGO is the best toy company in the world. And in the Formula 1 community, one of the most (if not the most) popular teams is that of McLaren. As the second-oldest competitor, they have a lot of clout under their belt. They’re also known for being innovative in the world of racing vehicles. So it was only natural that the two joined forces to introduce the LEGO Technic 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car. This 1432-piece set will be available beginning March 1st, and retail for US $179.99 | CAN $239.99 | UK £159.99. LEGO Harry Potter 76398 Hogwarts Hospital Wing [Review]

Last year, LEGO celebrated the 20 year anniversary of its Harry Potter line and as such, we were gifted with a plethora of sets themed mostly around the first and second movies. In addition to a brick-built Fluffy and new Basilisk design partnered with a castle reboot, we also got massive still life Icons and Moments from classes throughout the series presented as compact little book-style playsets. While the latter made for a good balance between display and play, the former gave us a reboot of the modular Hogwarts castle. Or at least it seems that way given the repetition of the Great Hall and Astronomy Towers in the Chamber of Secrets sets. The addition of the new 76398 Hogwarts Hospital Wing further suggests a reboot as it features a new version of the iconic clock tower above the beds in the infirmary. This 510 piece set comes with four exclusive minifigures and will be available March 1st for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99.
