LEGO Technic Summer 2020 sets fully revealed [News]

Last week we had a first look at the June-December German consumer catalogue images of the upcoming Summer 2020 LEGO Technic sets. Today we get to have a look at the actual box art as revealed by the retailer Meinspielzeug. While we still do not have the regional pricing, part counts are now available for all three sets. These will be available August 1st 2020. We will update the US, UK and Canadian retail prices as we get more information.

LEGO reveals Seinfeld, Home Alone and a working typewriter will become next fan-inspired Ideas sets [News]

LEGO Ideas has revealed that three fan-submitted projects will become official sets including a mechanical typewriter and two sets based on TV and film properties Seinfeld and Home Alone. The three projects were chosen from a selection of 12 submissions to the LEGO Ideas platform between September 2019 and January 2020 which achieved 10,000 supporters. Notable brands not chosen as future LEGO sets include Zelda, Futurama and Ratatouille.

Hands-on with 43179 Mickey & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters, the latest LEGO Disney set for adult collectors [Review]

Large-scale display pieces catering to the nostalgic adult fan have long been a mainstay of Disney merchandise. Whilst some LEGO Disney sets have flirted with the memorabilia audience before now (notably 71044 Disney Train and Station and 21317 Steamboat Willie) the latest Disney set — 43179 Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters — has its sights set firmly on the hearts (and wallets) of adult Disney collectors and enthusiasts. The set contains 1,739 pieces and features the iconic couple as large-scale figures, clad in their signature outfits, and with a range of accessories. It will be available from July 1st, retailing for US $179.99 – CAN $229.99 – UK £169.99.

The summer 2020 Ninjago sets offer a wide range of options, from small Spinjitzu Spinners to giant mechs. The largest set, 71722 Ninjago: Skull Sorcerer’s Dungeons clocks in at a solid 1171 pieces, including eight minifigures. Costing US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £89.99, this set is available now. LEGO shows off a real Ducati Panigale V4 R motorcycle with Technic exterior [News]

LEGO has unveiled a brief video and photos of a real Ducati Panigale V4 R motorcycle with a Technic exterior. The hybrid model is meant to celebrate the European launch of the 42107 Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R. The motorcycle’s exterior was created by LEGO Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi, who had never built with Technic elements professionally before this project. The final model weighs 400 pounds (180 kg) including the motorcycle innards, is composed of 15,000 bricks, and took 400 hours to build. Unlike other life-size models, this LEGO Ducati exterior has no glue and was created by hand and not using 3D modeling software.

42107 Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R currently retails for 54.99 GBP and will sell for $69.99 USD | 99.99 CAD when it launches in the Americas on August 1st. (Editor’s note: The press release below states that the set will cost $59.99 USD but we have independently verified with LEGO that the price will actually be $69.99 USD which is consistent with the price displayed on the LEGO Store Online.)

First look at LEGO Technic Summer 2020 sets [News]

As reported by our friends at Brickset, the June-December German consumer catalog brings us the first official images of three new LEGO Technic sets. LEGO collaborates with Volvo once again for this summer flagship 42114 6×6 Volvo Articulated Hauler, which is equipped with the new large angular motor from SPIKE Prime. The other two products, 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey and 42112 Cement Mixer are smaller but look very playable, nevertheless. All three sets shall be available starting August 1. Regional prices are yet to be announced.

LEGO 71720 Ninjago: Fire Stone Mech [Review]

If a ninja had to pick a favorite bit of weaponry, you might think they’d opt for a throwing star, or a sword, or something like that. But I suspect there’s a different answer, at least as far as Ninjago ninjas go: I think it’s pretty clear that they all prefer giant robots. The summer 2020 Ninjago line features a new one, 71720 Ninjago: Fire Stone Mech. This 968 piece set is available for US $69.99 | CAN $99.99 | UK £64.99. Sure, all the ninjas like it, but how cool is it really?

LEGO Nintendo Super Mario full theme revealed with 16 sets and a collectible blind-bag series [News]

LEGO has revealed what we believe is the complete LEGO Super Mario lineup, which amounts to 16 individual sets and ten blind bags–one of the largest single-theme launches LEGO has ever undertaken. LEGO revealed its partnership with Nintendo back in March and has since been drip-feeding us information about the theme, revealing a few sets at a time.

The theme is focused around the base adventures set–which is the only set to include the electronic Mario “digi-fig”–and is available to pre-order now for US $59.99 | CAN $69.99 | UK £49.99. Today’s product reveal includes several previously unseen level expansions featuring Thwomp and King Boo, a LEGO Super Mario app, as well as a collectible bling-bag series of enemies including a Paragoomba, Fuzzy, Spiny, Buzzy Beetle, Bullet Bill, Bob-omb, Eep Cheep, Blooper, Urchin and Peepa. The entire LEGO Super Mario lineup will be available starting August 1st.

LEGO has officially revealed their newest Disney product, 43179 Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters. The set comes with 1,739 pieces to build both Mickey and Minnie Mouse in dynamic positions as well as autographed bases and several accessories.

Mickey and Minnie will be available from LEGO starting July 1st for US $179.99 | CAN $229.99 | UK £169.99.

10277 Crocodile Locomotive is the newest LEGO train set for adults [News]

LEGO has officially revealed the latest 18+ train set for adults, 10277 Crocodile Locomotive. The Swiss train is made up of 1,271 pieces used to create the brown electric locomotive, a buildable display base, an informational placard, and two conductor minifigures. The set will be available from LEGO starting July 1st for US $99.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £89.99.

The Brothers Brick sat down with Jamie Berard, LEGO Senior Design Manager for Creator Expert and Architecture, who gave us a first look at the set and answered some of our questions about the new locomotive.
