In the world of Pokémon, there are few stories as sad as that of Cubone. And LEGO builder Redverse has poured all that lonely energy into a beautiful build of this pocket monster. Sporting a helm of bone, and a club of the same, Cubone is ready to unleash its infamous Bone Club attack. The Magnemite of Route 10 had better watch out!

Magenta Haunter is the belle of the Shadow Ball
A wildly good Haunter appears courtesy of LEGO Pokémon master Zane Houston. Just thinking about making a huge ball in LEGO using just an uncommon color like magenta would make a Sobble (#816) cry, but Zane makes it work with a deft jigsawing of wedge plates. Haunter’s floating hands grasp its special Shadow Ball attack. Creating this erratic form must have made for a bumpy ride, especially considering every non-white surface is covered in studs. The erratic shaping of the energy ripples framed by purples is brilliant and hearkens back to Zane’s electrifying Pikachu model from last year. During the build process, Zane experimented with brick-built eyes, but his solution of using T pieces for the tiny pupils perfectly captures Haunter’s ghostly gaze.
Take a Minecraft Warped Forest tour in LEGO for alternative rocks
In the Minecraft gaming world, player mods push the game’s visuals to new heights. In the LEGO community, builders like Michał Kozłowski (Edge of Bricks) similarly add AFOL innovation to the Minecraft theme and the results are truly next-gen. Michał’s ornate take on this Nether biome is night-and-day different from the official LEGO interpretation. Tooth plates make for excellent weeping vines on the fungal “trees.” Most impressive is Michał’s pixelated lava, which mixes solid and transparent orange elements and looks amazing when lit up with a third-party lighting kit.
Michał goes into detail on his LEGO Minecraft techniques on youtube, including his clever take on the Nether Portal.
LEGO The Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 – Part 2: ‘Bout time for some ocarina! [Review]
Yesterday, Part 1 of our TBB review of LEGO The Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 covered the Breath of the Wild version of this arboreal guardian. But now we need to run through a couple measures of the notes A, D, and F to play the Song of Time on our ocarina and roll the review back to the beginning again. This time, we’ll be diving deep into the Great Deku Tree version from Ocarina of Time. LEGO The Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 comes in at 2,500 pieces with release on September 1st. The set is already available for pre-order, retailing for US $299.99 | CAN $389.99 | UK £259.99 on the LEGO website. It may also be available from third-party sellers such as Amazon and eBay.

LEGO The Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 – Part 1: Breath of the Wild edition [Review]
It feels like there’s always been some The Legend of Zelda set proposal bouncing around on LEGO Ideas, ever since the ancient times of the Sheikah before us. And while it’s not releasing within that theme, there’s certainly much excitement for the first LEGO entry into this Nintendo property. Offering two different builds, referencing either Breath of the Wild or Ocarina of Time, LEGO The Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 comes in at 2,500 pieces with release on September 1st. The set is already available for pre-order, retailing for US $299.99 | CAN $389.99 | UK £259.99 on the LEGO website. It may also be available from third-party sellers such as Amazon and eBay.

Start your plasma engines, the LEGO F-Zero GP is about to begin!
While these days Nintendo’s F-Zero might be best known as providing a stage and combatant in Smash Bros, the franchise was once among the crown jewels of Nintendo platforms. Each game pushed the hardware limits of its generation to create a thrilling sense of speed, and the colorful hovercrafts and their alien racers added a layer of story and lore never before seen in a racing game. Nintendo super-fan Clément pays tribute to the intergalactic grand prix with a LEGO starting gate and three racers: the Wild Goose, Golden Fox, and Sonic Phantom. Clément nails the chunky aesthetics of the N64 era, when the franchise went 3D, witch each vehicle’s colors and silhouette instantly recognizable.
If Clément’s take on Nintendo’s space racers has you feeling the need for speed, consider revisiting the Brothers Brick speeder circuit for other zippy hover vehicles.
LEGO’s Fortnite collaboration extends to four new sets, all available now for pre-order [News]
Last year, LEGO announced a collaboration with Epic Games and their smash-hit Fortnite, culminating in the TBB review of LEGO Fortnite survival game that we shared just as 2023 ended. Since that first announcement, many have been wondering if some of the Fortnite favourites would make the jump from the screen to actual bricks. Today, we have the answer with four new sets releasing this fall. With some sets meant for play like the minifigure-laden LEGO Fortnite 77073 Battle Bus and others intended for the mantle with the 1,414-piece LEGO Fortnite 77072 Peely Bone statue, these sets offer tons of references to the game and it’s perennial characters (however, mainstay Jonesy remains missing from these offerings). All four sets are available now for preorder (with links and pictures below), and will be released on October 1st.
Drop in to see all four sets and pre-order links after the jump!
The cutest cherry bomb this side of the Mushroom Kingdom
When you think about it, the Super Mario world has a lot of role reversal in it. Suddenly, humble plumbers are superheroes, mushrooms become a deadly nuisance, and cherry bombs are made to look so harmless you could almost describe them as cute. Make no mistake, those wide eyes are those of an explosive killer: the Bob-omb, as recreated here by Łukasz Alagierski. The bulk of it uses a technique known as the Lowell Sphere, with a few additions to recreate the features of this cold-blooded killer. The cherry on top of this cherry bomb is the fuse, made by twisting LEGO string into a rope!
Always the optimist, Apex Legends’ Pathfinder is psyched to exist in LEGO form
Featuring a sweet Dick Tracy-style noir outfit, Pathfinder from Apex Legends comes to life in LEGO thanks to the work of Eric Tsai. There’s quite a bit of expert character craft here, especially in the recreation of this MRVN unit’s signature abilities: a sweet grappling hook on the left arm and a zipline gun on the right. I adore how the bot’s myopic noggin is put together, as well as the smiley face on his chest replaced with a mustachioed 1×1 tile.
Click this Link to see LEGO Ganondorf return to Hyrule
Ganondorf is back to menace the kingdom of Hyrule in this LEGO creation by mSquid_! The evil sorcerer is clad in the finest clothes and armor LEGO has to offer, so let’s take a look. His boots are made from mudguards and look how nicely the 1×1 corner tiles fit in the gap! His shinguards are barrels only available from one Indiana Jones set from 2009. Further up, Ganondorf is wearing a single handcuff as a collar, and a sail from a pirate ship for a cape. Within the sculpting of Ganondorf’s head, I’m amazed at how all the parts came together to perfectly recreate the villain’s face. Ganondorf’s lower jaw is from a collectable orc minifigure, while mSquid_ borrowed a technique from this year’s Droideka set: using backwards lipstick pieces for Ganondorf’s red eyes. From head-to-toe, mSquid_’s Ganondorf strikes an imposing figure.
This build was an entry in this year’s Bio-Cup 2024, and be sure to check out our archives of the Bio-Cup entries from this and past years. I think mSquid_’s competition will be green with envy!
Batman gets the drop on Joker’s goons in LEGO Arkham Asylum
There are plenty of candidates for “best version of Batman,” many of which will soon have their own LEGO BrickHeadz design, but a strong case can be made for the star of Batman: Arkham Asylum video game as the GOAT of Batmen. The game makes Batman a predator who uses the environment to stalk and take out goons, but more than that, the design trains the player to see the world through Batman’s eyes. Tom Studs captures the game’s DNA in LEGO with a vignette set in the Arkham Medical Facility. The industrial vibes are spot on thanks to a mix of printed tiles, tubing, and brick-built machinery. Most importantly, the scene has everything Batman needs to take down the Joker’s henchmen, like floor grates to sneak through, power boxes to disable with a batarang, and of course, a well-placed gargoyle on which to perch. All that’s missing is a Riddler Trophy.
Will this victory ring Hollow?
If there is a Silksong-shaped hole in your heart, you might be able to fill it with this LEGO model by Dylan Mievis! Dylan has done a great job depicting the secret final boss of Hollow Knight – the Radiance – in all its awe-full glory. The main body of this “being of light” is made from two types of feathered wings, and its weird tentacle arms are mostly borrowed from the Piraka (a dangerous group to steal from!) Spare a thought for the adorable little Knight, made out of very few parts. Even armed with the Dream Nail, its gonna be an uphill battle!
