LEGO Star Wars is one of the most popular LEGO themes of all time. Far beyond X-wings and TIE fighters, there’s a whole expanded universe of inspiration, and an army of LEGO fans ready to build whatever comes out of George Lucas’s head next.

LEGO 75210 Moloch’s Landspeeder from Solo: A Star Wars Story [Review]

Despite an official release date on April 20, LEGO Star Wars sets from Solo: A Star Wars Story are beginning to hit store shelves all over the world, and we’ve picked up copies of several of the sets so you can get a first look at these upcoming sets. 75210 Moloch’s Landspeeder will retail for $39.99 and includes 464 pieces with two minifigures and a pair of white Corellian hounds.

With the movie release nearly two months away, the sets released ahead of the film tend not to have much in the way of spoilers, but if you’re assiduously avoiding even the names of characters on LEGO boxes, this will serve as your mild spoiler warning.

The Resistance arrives at micro LEGO Takodana

Didier Burtin showcases a huge Star Wars moment in a small scale with a micro Battle of Takodana scene. The low-flying, wave-making X-Wings are equally as eye-catching in LEGO as they are in The Force Awakens. Though the X-Wing formation is the highlight for me here, Didier’s detailed microscale rendition of Maz Kanata’s Castle won’t go overlooked.

No fortification is too great for a TIE Bomber run

Jerac follows up his amazing LEGO TIE Fighter and Interceptor with my favorite Imperial fighter, the TIE Bomber (despite its limited screen time in The Empire Strikes Back). The main technique of note is the tapering of the cockpit cylinder into the canopy; that transition is smoothly done. Overall, his TIE Bomber is a master class in attention to detail.

SFS TIE/sa Bomber

The TIE Bomber looks even better going, but perhaps that’s because being alive to see this view is rare indeed.

Still don’t like the UCS Hoth set? Maybe a tiny version will win you over

When the Ultimate Collector’s Series (UCS) 75098 Assault on Hoth set came out, it was strongly disliked, which carries on even today. Seeking to miniaturise it and make the set a bit more likable, IamKritch has remade it in microscale. Minifig tool pieces are used a lot here, with screwdrivers, hammers and wrenches as various laser barrels. One hammer is even used as an aerial.

The minimalist Tauntaun in the back may just be the best part.

Amazing minifigure-scale Star Wars T-47 Snowspeeder [Instructions]

Builder Quy Chau has done an outstanding job on designing a properly scaled a minifig scale T-47 Airspeeder that puts LEGO’s official models to shame. The best part is that he’s created instructions, making this a great piece for display or even incorporating into a large diorama if you intend to build a scene from Hoth.

LEGO Star Wars Han Solo, Range Trooper, & Darth Maul buildable figures: Official box art unveiled [News]

The LEGO booth at Toy Fair this year only showcased one buildable or “constraction” figure, a new Darth Maul figure. Several other buildable figures from the spring 2018 wave have been revealed today, including Han Solo and the Range Trooper from the upcoming Han Solo movie.

Headz up for more Rebel heroes

I have a feeling that the BrickHeadz series still has a pretty long lifespan with the amount of flexibility and simplicity of its appeal to the masses, reinforced by the upcoming 41597 Go Brick Me customization kit. The Star Wars franchise is no stranger to this trend, and we see a healthy amount of creativity that stands out, including these BrickHeadz of Admiral Ackbar, Biggs Darklighter, and Leia Organa. Tom Vanhaelen designed this trio, and really hit the nail on the head with that ‘stash. That printed moustache tile has “I belong to Biggs” written all over it.

Poseable Micro Millennium Falcon [Instructions]

One can never have too many versions of the Millennium Falcon be it official LEGO sets or fan-made ones. Here’s another one to add to your collection made together with a poseable stand designed by elemental_lego. This tiny Falcon build requires 57 parts in total and captures the essential details. We pretty much would guess Chewbacca’s approval on this tiny piece of junk. In his own words, we’re pretty sure he’d give us a “Rawrrr Rawrrrrrrrr” and two furry thumbs up.

Explore Endor, Jakku and Hoth driving one these brilliant motion sculptures

The Star Wars saga is all about two things – machines and locations. Of course, some may say it’s also about the Force, family relationship and friendship, but none of this would work without iconic spacecrafts and mesmerizing sceneries. Chris McVeigh reveals a very special collection of three vignettes featuring our favourite pieces of machinery. But what is absolutely cool about these builds is that each of them has a motion feature, which brings an AT-ST, the Millenium Falcon and an AT-AT to life with a simple turn of the crank.

Fabulous superspeeder hops into spring

While it is generally accepted that cheetahs are the fasted land animal, you may not know that the fastest ‘air’ animal is Bonnie Bunny in her superspeeder.  Yes Bonnie Bunny may have enjoyed camping in her caravan and playing in the playground in official LEGO sets, but her true adrenaline-junkie nature has been exposed by  Pico van Grootveld. The adorable speeder is fits Bonnie Bunny perfectly with some cheery spring yellow parts and nice sticker application.

The Fabuland creatures always scream cuteness but there’s nothing better than crossing Fabuland and some of the other LEGO themes.  If you liked this Fauland/Star Wars hybrid then you will also enjoy a Fabuland-themed Millenium Falcon or this fabby Tie Fighter.

A Stormtrooper’s standard-issue blaster replicated in LEGO

Daryl Ng complements his LEGO Han Solo’s blaster with the classic E-11 blaster rifle seen in the original Star Wars trilogy. His LEGO rendition is true to the props seen on-screen, capturing the Sterling SMG underneath and various sci-fi details. Like his previous blaster build, the E-11 is presented with a display stand featuring a UCS-style specification card.
