Chip & Dale have arrived to ruin your fancy dinner party!

Chip & Dale are up to their old tricks in this rowdy vignette by MinifigNick. Chip & Dale first debuted in 1943 and became longtime foils for Donald Duck. The two little troublemakers were constantly wreaking havoc and that spirit is perfectly captured in this ill-fated dinner party. MinifigNick is an expert at highly detailed vignettes, and he certainly does not disappoint with this current model.

Chip & Dale

There are many great parts in play here that all coalesce into a cohesive creation of chaos. Stand outs for me are the 1×4 brick with sand green wallpaper from the Batman Classic TV Series Batcave and the stained glass windows. Details like ornate patterns, the bust in the corner, and the large plant all suggest that well-heeled residents must live here. The feast may be destroyed, but it still looks delectable. Not content to spread the mayhem on foot, our mini mischief makers have absconded with Race Car Guy’s mini car! Who knows what shenanigans they will get up to next!

Representatives at the Interstellar Conference of the 3rd Sun

Despite this website’s origins as a minifig blog way back in 2005, it’s not often that we highlight minifig-only LEGO creations — often frowned upon by more “serious” LEGO builders as mere “figbarfs.” But there is incredible joy in putting together pieces of LEGO in unique ways, no matter how small the resulting creation. And from time to time, something truly stellar emerges from the imagination of a builder, like these fantastical aliens by VolumeX.

5tribes of Valmoria

There is so much ingenious use of “single-purpose” minifig parts here — like Queen Amidala’s hair for the face of the leftmost figure or Ahsoka Tano’s head-tails above a Mon Calamari head and octopus legs from the Atlantis theme on the middle figure. I could pore over these all day.

The LEGO Movie 2’s sewer babies just got bigger

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part officially opens today (be sure to read our LEGO Movie 2 review), and to mark the occasion, “Big Daddy” Nelson has taken a few of the movie’s smallest characters and given them a huge makeover. Built in the style of the classic 3723 Creator Minifigure set, these giant sewer babies look just like their miniature counterparts from the TLM2 Accessory Set.

They have even more range than the toddler elements they’re based on, featuring double-sided heads and movable hands. They’re also more complex than you might think, with some clever mosaic work needed to translate the prints on the torsos and heads into bricks.

A tribute to the Courageous

My 22-year-old cousin, Cody, has wanted to be a firefighter his entire life. He’s never even entertained the idea of anything else. This summer he was gone for weeks at a time, working 14-17 hours a day, through the night, battling horrendous wildfires along the West Coast of the US. In addition to the fires, he and his companions faced rattlesnakes, hornets, dangerous terrain, and heat waves beyond those from the flames. They put their lives on the line. These custom minifigs created by Brick Police are a tribute to Wildland Firefighters everywhere. So this one’s for the heroes. It’s for the selfless men and women who do everything they can to save lives and homes. We thank you for your service.
