It’s that time of year again! Break out the hot cocoa and stoke the fire, because The Brothers Brick is counting down to Christmas the only way we know how: with LEGO Advent Calendars! With this retro gaming-flavored diorama, Kale Frost‘s early holiday dominance continues. Obviously the Nintendo Game Boy is the star of the show, and darned if it doesn’t look just like the one I unwrapped on Christmas in 1989. Not to be ignored, the wily minifigure elves have appropriated the device for their own purposes. Circuit boards, wires, and batteries are all expertly represented here.
Like Kale’s Santa creation before the iconic portable gaming console diorama is just one part of a larger whole, which is Kale’s bespoke Christmas scene.
It seems as if there are more LEGO stories to be shared from the display, but you can check out the whole thing for yourself at Rundle Mall in Adelaide Australia until January.
When you know what you’re doing, LEGO elements create some very interesting patterns and shapes. Builder Azurekingfisher knows what they’re doing. In mobile sculpture, rings and snowflake-like shapes are created from a complex repetition of plant leaves in a variety of hues. Add Technic rods and connectors to hang them from, and you have an art installation just waiting to happen.
LEGO has announced the return of the Build to Give campaign where the company donates one LEGO set per each holiday ornament built at an in-store display or posted online and tagged with #BuildToGive. Last year, LEGO donated 500,000 sets to children in hospitals, foster and child-care homes, and under-served communities as a result of the campaign.
This year, LEGO wants to double those numbers and will donate up to one million LEGO sets to children in need. The campaign runs from November 4 to December 8, including various in-store events and building challenges. The donated sets will be distributed by LEGO’s charity partners listed at LEGO.com/BuildToGive.

LEGO has revealed the newest set in their Creator Expert Winter Village line, 10267 Gingerbread House. This sweet treat of a set comes with 1,477 pieces, two minifigures of a gingerbread man and woman, and a printed tile with a gingerbread baby.
This seasonal sumptuous set will retail for US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £84.99 starting September 18th for LEGO VIP members with general availability beginning October 1st.

Christmas may be over, but Buddy the elf is the kind of guy you want to hang out with all year round! This BrickHeadz rendering by Kendall Brown (headzsets) isn’t quite possible in real life with available part colors, but it sure is cute! Buddy’s pal, Mr. Narwhal, comes to the surface at the beginning of the movie to wish him luck in finding his real father. He’s a pretty adorable character, and looks fabulous in LEGO form.
Now that Santa’s big night has come and gone, the man has earned some rest and relaxation. What better place to unwind after a very busy holiday season than this lovely chalet by Jack R., perfect for relaxing with a steaming cup of hot chocolate after a day of skiing or snowboarding. Above the door, the stained glass look, made with transparent orange plates behind turntable bases, adds a touch of warmth to the scene.
Next to a nice stack of firewood outside, a couple of Santa’s sled team also enjoy a nice rest. Jack demonstrates a great use of battle droid torsos as the reindeer heads.
