A look at the next Harry Potter GWP set: 40252 Hogwarts Gryffindor Dorms [Review]

Any fan of the Harry Potter movies can recall the iconic scene where he is introduced to his first chocolate frog. Unfortunately, it jumps out the train window before he can taste it, but the real focal point is the included trading card. All at once, Harry is introduced to wizarding candy, a hobby, moving portraits, and, of course, Professor Dumbledore. (Plus, as we recall later, the existence Dumbledore’s important friend, Nicolas Flamel.) These trading cards have now become a “collect them all” feature of recent sets – a smart move by LEGO. 4,000-piece 21330 Home Alone House unveiled as biggest LEGO Ideas set ever [News]

Not a lot of movies from the early 1990s have stuck around as household names, but surely one of the oddest is that childhood classic from 1990, Home Alone. It has found its quirky, lovable place among our holiday favorites, and today, LEGO is revealing that the newest Ideas set is based on the film. 21330 Home Alone House features the quiet suburban McCallister house that Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) has rigged with all manner of booby traps for the would-be burglars. The LEGO set has a full interior thanks to its 3,957 pieces, making it the biggest product to date based on a fan design from the crowd-sourcing platform Ideas. The original Ideas project was created by fan Alex Storozhuk, whose Home Alone project reached the requisite 10k votes back in December of 2019, and was approved by LEGO to become a set in June of 2020. The new set will retail for US $249.99 | CAN $349.99 | UK £229.99 and will be available starting Nov. 1.

LEGO Ideas 21330 Home Alone House: The largest Ideas set ever is packed with movie references [Review]

Just in time for the holidays, LEGO has unveiled a set based on the classic Christmas-time film, Home Alone. 21330 Home Alone House is the 38th entry in the Ideas theme, and will be available November 1st for US $249.99 | CAN $349.99 | UK £229.99. At a whopping 3957 pieces, it even beats out the massive 21323 Grand Piano in terms of part count, becoming the largest Ideas set to date. In addition to the titular home, the are also five exclusive minifigures and plenty of other extras. Come along as we find out just how many movie references you can cram into a single set. (Spoiler alert: It’s a lot.)

Like the latest ridiculously expensive smartphones, LEGO Technic flagship sets make you consider one question: is it worth upgrading? Same prices, same play features, and, maybe, a couple of new tricks to show off. LEGO Ideas First 2021 review are in: three new products are coming [News]

Today, LEGO Ideas reveals the results of the most recent review. In case you missed it, the Review Board had to evaluate a whopping 57 projects, including ideas based on sitcoms, fairy tales, and even some unusual concepts. According to the announcement published on the blog, there is great news about three projects, one from each of the mentioned categories.

TBB NEWS AND REVIEWS This was a big week for reviews, and by that I mean we reviewed one of the biggest LEGO sets ever as we took a look at the new titanic set: the Titanic. But that wasn’t the only big set we reviewed. We also reviewed the latest version of the iconic Batmobile: the Tumbler. I guess Star Wars isn’t the only theme to revisit older sets over and over. But there was more Batman news, with the reveal of a new wave of sets based on the latest chapter in the Batman franchise.

Upcoming The Batman movie LEGO sets revealed, including Technic Batmobile [News]

Today LEGO has taken the wraps off a wave of sets from the upcoming movie The Batman, a reboot starring Robert Pattinson. The new sets include three minifigure-scale sets. 76181 Batmobile: The Penguin Chase features Batman’s newly stylized muscle car Batmobile with Batman and the Penguin, while another, 76179 Batman & Selina Kyle Motorcycle Pursuit, includes a pair of motorcycles for Batman and Celina Kyle, AKA Catwoman. The third is 76183 The Batcave: The Riddler Face-off, which can function as a garage for the Batmobile and Batcycle from the other sets. It includes Batman, Selina Kyle, The Riddler, The Drifter, Alfred, and Commissioner Gordon. The final set, 42127 The Batman – Batmobile, is a larger, 1,360-piece Technic version of the new Batmobile. The movie is slated to release March 4, 2022, but you’ll be able to snag the sets well ahead of that as they’re available to pre-order now and will begin shipping Nov. 1.

LEGO Batman 76240 Batmobile Tumbler: Scratching that seven year itch [Review]

Back in the dim history of 2014, LEGO released set 76023 The Tumbler, a UCS-scaled rendition of the Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Now, seven years later, LEGO returns with an updated version to tempt a new generation of Bat-Fans. The 2049 piece Batman 76240 Batmobile Tumbler will be available November 1st from the LEGO Shop Online for US $229.99 | CAN $329.99 | UK £209.99. Will the build upgrades and the addition of new exclusive minifigure versions of Batman and the Joker be enough to tempt long-time fans into a second expensive helping of the Tumbler? Battle cruiser ready for deployment

With the end of September comes the completed SHIPtember LEGO models created by expert builders from around the world. Builder Isaac Snyder is one of those, who shared his battle cruiser with The Brothers Brick.

The Commiere Battle Cruiser is ready for battle. In fact, it’s fresh out of the drydock, built during the annual SHIPtember event. This model has a ton of repeated parts but it’s built in a way that doesn’t give off repetition. I love the use of tan, orange, and dark sand-green. These colors contrast so well with the dark grey, especially around the engines.

I’m also impressed at the pieces used that aren’t just standard bricks. The engines, for example, are made in part of brown Bionicle torsos. The pointed orange pieces in between the dark sand-green are feet from the Hero Factory figures. It’s a true SHIPtember starship!
