Erling Dideriksen, designer of the LEGO Headlight brick has passed on [News]
We are sad to hear that Erling Thue Dideriksen, LEGO designer that has contributed a number of iconic elements, including the headlight brick that was named after him – passed on quietly on 1st March 2023 in Billund, Denmark. Erling was born on 14 November 1944 and was 78 years of age.
The popular element that Erling designed and the one that LEGO fans may be able to relate to is the Headlight brick, also known as the Washing Machine brick. Within the LEGO custom creation community it’s also known as the Erling brick, one of few LEGO elements that has its own special reference name associated to it by LEGO fans, acknowledging the designer.

LEGO reveals sets for Disney 100th anniversary, including Minifigures, ‘Up’ House, and more [News]
2023 brings Disney’s 100th anniversary, and LEGO is celebrating with a series of sets branded with the Disney100 logo featuring scenes from classic Disney and Pixar movies, ranging from Oswald the Rabbit and Pinocchio to Mickey from Fantasia. One of the five sets, BrickHeadz 40622 Disney 100th Celebration, is already available, and the others will roll out over the next few months. The biggest news today is the reveal of the new Collectible Minifigures series, which includes 18 unique characters, many of which have never before been available in minifigure form. Check out all the details below.
LEGO Harry Potter 76413 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement [Review]
LEGO’s 2023 Harry Potter line so far has just one entry in the ongoing modular Hogwarts Castle line: 76413 Hogwarts: Room of Requirement. Surprisingly given that the Deathly Hallows spans two complete movies, this is only the fourth set that LEGO has based on that material. There was a previous set covering the room — 75966: Hogwarts Room of Requirement — but that version, in addition to being much smaller, was based on Order of the Phoenix. Here’s our review of the set, which contains 587 pieces and 5 minifigures, and is available March 1st for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99.
This set is based on a license The LEGO Group has with the Warner Brothers films, not J.K. Rowling directly. The transphobic views expressed by Rowling do not reflect the values of The Brothers Brick or, indeed, those of The LEGO Group. The magical world Rowling created, in which many who felt a bit different could see themselves, meant a great deal to so many people, including those that Rowling now demeans. TBB affirms each individual LEGO fan’s choice to claim a piece of the world for themselves, or to reject it entirely.

The newest LEGO Star Wars 18+ set has just appeared on LEGO Shop, listed as 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer. Consisting of 630 pieces, the model features not just the Executor itself, but a couple of tiniest Star Destroyers. The set goes on sale starting May 1, but you can pre-order it right now for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 .
LEGO reveals 40504 A Minifigure Tribute as the new LEGO House exclusive set [News]
Revealed today, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute becomes the fourth LEGO House exclusive set. Fans will be able to get the latest addition to the limited series only at the LEGO branded store in Billund, Denmark starting March 1, for 599DKK (which is about US $85 or €80).

LEGO Star Wars 75351: Princess Leia (Boushh) helmet [Review]
The LEGO Star Wars helmet collection has covered multiple movies, animated series, and TV shows, giving fans a lot of options for representing their favorite heroes and villains from the franchise, from Darth Vader and his many minions to Captain Rex, and the Mandalorian. But there have not been any helmets yet for heroines like Princess Leia. Leia only wears two helmets that I can recall, over the course of the original trilogy: The Rebel commando helmet in the jungle on Endor, and the bounty hunter disguise she wore in her mission to free Han from the carbonite (both in Return of the Jedi). Star Wars fans can now look forward to this iconic helmet joining the collection with LEGO Star Wars 75351: Princess Leia (Boushh), which comes with 670 pieces and will be available on March 1st for $69.99 USD | $89.99 CAD | £59.99 UK

LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings 10316 Rivendell: Middle Earth just got bigger [Review]
LEGO’s standalone The Lord of the Rings theme is back after the better part of a decade-long hiatus, and it’s come back with a roar. A few small BrickHeadz sets have already been released, but the star of the newly revived theme is a massive diorama of Rivendell, the Last Homely House East of the Sea, where the Fellowship of the Ring is formed. The three-part diorama of the elven home spans almost 30 inches and is the first to include the entire fellowship together, with 21 minifigures in total. 10316 Rivendell includes 6,167 pieces and will be available for LEGO VIP members starting March 5, with general availability March 8. It will retail for US $499.99 | CAN $669.99 | UK £429.99.
