Why head for the hills when you can be safe and sound inside Khufu’s pyramid?
Whenever a contest happens, any new theme tends to get a bit, dare I say, crowded. This is certainly true of ApocaLEGO due to the “Head for the Hills” contest, so it’s always cool to see a new twist, like Corran101‘s Egyptian-themed entry. Click the photo for the back story on this heavily armed holdout.
Gettin’ steamy with Rocko
Rocko‘s second entry in the FBTB Steam-Wars contest (following on his world-famous TIE fighter) is an excellent speeder bike. The boiler is simple yet effective, and the multiple propellors (for lift and forward propulsion) give this classic Star Wars vehicle a truly steampunk flair.
(Incidentally, Matt Forcum has been working on a speeder with a similar front and back end, but with a very interesting — and hilarious — twist. Not to detract from Rocko’s great speeder, but I’m also looking forward to Matt’s.)
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess vignette by Dan Sibley
The next game I plan on playing on my new Wii is Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I don’t want to spoil anything for myself by looking too much up about this vignette by Dan Sibley, so I’ll trust the comments on Flickr that this is true to the game.
What say you, readers?
Halo grunt by Mike Nieves
Mike Nieves built one of the most realistic grunt from the video game Halo. Better yet, he has made instructions so fans can create their own too!

MisaQa has completed the advent calendar of miniature town buildings. Check out the beautiful full layout.
Minifigs from Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Kyle Peterson
As “Armothe,” Kyle Peterson may be best known as one half of the team behind BrickForge, but he’s also a great minifig customizer in his own right. His latest set of figs is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. From Arthur and Sir Bedevere (above) to Launcelot and Robin (below), the gang’s all here.
Check out Kyle’s Flickr photostream for more, including Galahad, Gawain, and my favorite, a French Knight:
“Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!”
Evangelion Mass Production Type minifig by Mike Crowley
Mike Crowley wins. He just does. At everything. More specifically, he’s found 7668 Rebel Scout Speeder and promptly created a truly unique minifig using the new helmet. Behold! Eva Mass Prodution Type (from the anime series Evangelion).
Must be the Kraken
Marcin (aka Hippotam) portrays the Last Journey of a doomed voyage.
There’s tons of details to examine in this action-packed scene. Above all, there’s tentacles from the depths! I could write a whole poem about it, but until later…
Arvo builds Iron Man
I recognized the figure from the thumbnail, but passed it off as a shot of an action figure, but then realizing that it belongs to the Arvo bros‘ gallery, I had to check to make sure. Yup, I was wrong.
There currently aren’t any more pics available, as they tend to slowly update the gallery for some kind of suspenseful effect.
Alien Queen by Jeff Ranjo
The latest LEGO creation inspired by Aliens is one built mostly from Bionicle by Jeff Ranjo. (Via Klocki.)
It never gets lonely in the desert
What’s better than having your truck broken down in the middle of the desert? Why, with a horde of zombies of course! Justin Vaughn conjures a swarm of zombies attacking a truck on a desert highway. Check out Zombie Hunt.
Nice salt shaker! Ran out of white paper? ;)
