MisaQa launches her 2009 LEGO Advent Calendar

One of my favorite holiday traditions in the LEGO fan community is MisaQa‘s annual Advent Calendar, taking us day by day from December 1st through Christmas Eve. This year, she’s presenting a new microscale building each day.

MisaQa kicks off her 2008 Advent Calendar

Those of you lucky enough to snag a 7979 Castle Advent Calendar have probably just started opening those little doors to discover your Christmas goodies. (You can also follow along on ReasonablyClever.com.)

One of my favorite holiday LEGO traditions, though, is the series of small creations posted each day in December (until Christmas Day) by Japanese builder MisaQa. This year, she’s focusing on “Mythical Creatures,” starting with the Wyvern:

Since it’s already December 2 in Japan, she’s also posted her second creature, a three-headed Cerberus:

MisaQa’s Advent Calendar 2006

It’s that time of year again! Well, at least it is in Japan, where it’s already December 1st. I’ve been hoping MisaQa will start a new advent calendar as she did last year.

She doesn’t disappoint this year, with a “Dressy Dolls” theme. MisaQa’s first stylish lady has a bustle, and some serious curves:

Keep an eye on her Web site, STUD&TUBE, or her gallery on Brickshelf for daily updates between now and Christmas Eve. Thanks for doing this again, MisaQa!

Kokekokkooooo!!!

That’s the sound a rooster makes in Japanese. Here’s MisaQa with another batch of her great brick-built birds:

Following up on her Wallace & Gromit creations (previous post), Japanese builder MisaQa has posted a nice little Snoopy, Woodstock, doghouse, and typewriter:
