Making a creation in microscale is something I really admire because it’s hard to do. Making one that also looks visually pleasing is even harder. With this tiny TIE Interceptor, Dan Ko proves he is an expert when it comes to making these kinds of LEGO builds. I love when builders manage to use a seemingly single use part in a completely different way. The use of the bottom half of the Darth Vader helmet to create a Star Wars ship is pure gold.

LEGO’s Black Friday exclusive GWP: 6346109 Roman Chariot [Review]
The new 10276 Colosseum is the biggest LEGO set ever made, with an insane part count of 9,036 pieces. The record-breaking set is making its debut on Nov 27, better known as Black Friday, where it will retail for $549.99 | CAN $649.99 | UK £449.99, and for customers who purchase it over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, it will come with an exclusive gift-with-purchase (GWP), 6346109 Roman Chariot, which contains 127 pieces. Our early review copy of the Colosseum was delayed in the mail and so our review of that set is still in progress, but we do have the promotional set to take a look at.
So slip into your sandals, toss on your toga, and grab your garum. Let’s head to ancient Rome!

LEGO Botanical Collection unveiled with captivating Bonsai Tree and magnificent Flower Bouquet [News]
Thanks to Polish retailer Bonito, we get a first look at LEGO’s new Botanical Collection featuring Bonsai Tree and a Flower Bouquet. The two releases take the same dark thematic box art sytle intended to target adult LEGO fans.

Not your average grandma
Grandma is here, but unfortunately you won’t get any cookies, juice, and stories from this one because well, she is made out of bricks! I wonder if builder Brandon Jones was inspired by his own gram in the creation of this build.
Jones does an excellent job shaping a round face out of bricks and some curved pieces. The lady’s ears use yellow dish pieces, she’s even got some earrings which utilize the white lifebuoy element for the loop earring effect. The bust’s hair is mostly rendered by slopes in light and dark greys. In my mind, the inspiration behind this build may be the grandma from one of the old LEGO Family sets dating back from the seventies before minifigures existed and instead larger figures were produced. Either way it certainly is a unique bust build.

The toughest hunk of junk in the galaxy
The Razor Crest is fast becoming one of the most recognized ships in a galaxy far, far away since the Millenium Falcon first blasted off the surface of Tatooine. Ever since the premiere of The Mandalorian last year on Disney+, The Razor Crest has taken a beating, but she keeps on going. This microscale model by Tim Goddard has nailed a number of details at a small scale. Take the landing gear, which is more accurate than the official LEGO set.
The back of the ship is also very well sculpted, and those engines are spot on!

Despite the presence of minidolls, I think that LEGO’s Elves theme was almost universally beloved by adult fans of LEGO (and undoubtedly, many loved the dolls, too). What was there not to like? There were great re-colors of common pieces into bright pinks, blues, and purples, perfect for everything from spaceships to fantasy forest dwellings, there were new hairpieces for more elves, there were dragons, not to mention the great accessories, and perhaps most of all sets that by themselves were great, with nice value for the money, good play features, and cohesive structure. I was a fan. It seems likely that I was never as much of a fan as Ben Arkley, however, if this enormous Elvendale creation is any guide.

A castle ready for anything
With the dawn of the day, Crow Knights once again begin their dutiful watch over the land. Builder markus19840420 gives us a beautiful glimpse of the Crow Knights as they keep the kingdom safe.
An incredible LEGO build resulted from hard work and tedious craftmanship. The way the water flows across the area’s base is stunning, especially how it flows off the edge like a waterfall. The plant life is perfectly placed. I admire the use of white in the tower walls. It’s not usually a color used unless the castle is nearly completely white, but here it works, contrasting enough with the grey to make the yellow and black of the Crow Knights’ uniforms pop.
Exploring the galaxy for fresh vegetation
I’m loving everything about this other-worldly scene by captainsmog! From the satisfyingly shaped spaceship that is reminiscent of the Rocket Boy LEGO Collectable Minifigure, to the cleverly crafted plants. The creative parts usage is rad and makes me want to go dig through my oddball parts. I particularly love the claw elements used to make the wavy red and orange… thingy? Genius!
This builder is not a stranger to TBB. He built one of the first tensegrity builds we featured.
Is meat back on the menu?
While we know Bilbo Baggins doesn’t get eaten by orcs, he came close to being devoured several times. This build by Nathan Smith shows one of those near misses. This image looks like a scene straight out of LEGO: The Hobbit video game. It goes to show that part of a great build is building it. The other part is how you capture the moment.
Everything looks fantastic here. The blue glow on Bilbo’s sword is a nice touch, clearly indicating that orcs are nearby. The wargs that the orcs are riding on the look as menacing as ever. And the fire crawling up the trees adds to the sense that, for Bilbo, time is running out.

A first look at 46 new LEGO sets upcoming in 2021 including CITY, Ninjago and Creator themes [News]
Retailer Van Der Meulen from Netherlands gives us an early peek at the new upcoming LEGO sets to be available in 2021 including themes from City, Creator 3-in-1, Dots, Friends, Ninjago and Technic. A total of 46 sets are listed here. Part count and pricing are not available at this moment but will be updated as and when we have more information. Highlights include the new City road plates a remote-controlled Technic off-road buggy.
