Ford fans will love Luke C‘s baby blue ’64 Country Sedan station wagon sporting hand-painted whitewall tires and roof rack with surfboard. I like how Luke has used the light grey and white pieces to create the reflection of the silver stripe down the side of the car, plus the offset grilled pieces sitting at an angle to recreate the recognizable front grill.
This sleek design also features functioning steering, doors, tailgate, glove box and of course working hood with detailed engine bay.
After nearly two years, Jiuru Yang has given a beautiful gift to the LEGO world: St. Michel’s Cathedral, a 20,000 piece work of art. This highly detailed cathedral draws inspiration from Reims Cathedral and Notre Dame, both in France.
The level of detail is magnificent; I invite you to tour through Jiuru’s photos and experience the details throughout. Of particular note is the beautiful mosaic in the center, along with the tomb in a place of honor.

The inspiration for this exquisite mech is a cross between The Black Knight from the LEGO NEXO Knights theme and Kevin Low’s love for Gundam mecha. It’s fashioned to Kevin’s own interpretation, and inspired by the Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blood Orphans animated series. Not counting parts, which he estimates to be about 600 in all, it stands about 32 studs tall — a sturdy and highly posable build.
I particularly like how the trans-orange pieces are used and just ever-so-slightly exposed to give a feel of a slow burn and energy from within the mech suit.

eyescream54 certainly has an eye for mid-century modern architecture — this beauty looks like it belongs in Beverly Hills during Hollywood’s Golden Era. The decorative tile work adorning the front of this delightful home is exquisite. The builder has used different shapes and angles, contrasting each other and coming together splendidly. I like the little details like the light above the front door, the air conditioning unit on the finely crafted roof, and the shrub with the purple flowers.
The real surprises are around the back, where the house shows off its sharp lines and beautiful design. An interior is visible through the large ranch-style sliding doors leading out to a private pool and garden patio. Conjuring imagery of glamorous parties and fancy soirées, it’s not hard to imagine Marilyn Monroe, JFK, and Frank Sinatra living it up at a place like this.
Chris Madison has put together a superb LEGO Viper — the classic Mark II from Battlestar Galactica. Don’t let initial appearances fool you — this model is enormous, over 100 studs long and weighing 10 kilos!
While Dale may not get to enjoy his retirement driving around the country with his wife in an RV, we can all enjoy this great LEGO rendition of his iconic vehicle from the first two seasons of The Walking Dead, built by hachiroku24. The builder has included numerous key details, including all the gear Dale needs on his roof to keep watch over the survivors’ camp. I particularly like the rolled up awning.

Beloved actress and writer Carrie Fisher has passed away at age 60, after a recent heart attack. While she will be most fondly remembered for her role as the feisty Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars saga, Fisher appeared in many other well-known movies including The Blues Brothers and When Harry Met Sally. She was also both an accomplished writer (often drawing upon her own over-the-top life experiences in Postcards from the Edge and more recently The Princess Diarist) and an oft-uncredited screenplay writer with involvement in movies like Hook and The Wedding Singer.
The iconic image of Fisher as Princess Leia will almost certainly be the one that stays with her fans, whether it be sporting the flowing regal gown and giant hair buns of A New Hope, or the metallic bikini “slave girl” outfit from Return of the Jedi. These images resonate with LEGO fans too, and over the years we’ve featured plenty of custom builds of the Leia character. Below are a few of them.
Star Wars: Rogue One introduced the world to the AT-ACT, an imperial walker with a large cargo hold and plenty of fire-power. It’s the perfect vehicle when you need to haul cargo across the beaches of Scarif, but still need to be prepared to start a counterattack against rebel forces. Forgotten Days‘s minifig-scale version of the AT-ACT is impressive, most impressive.
Day’s walker has some great shaping and textures, especially on the legs and head. And check out those ground troops on the beach; perfect marching formations even in the face of incoming rebel fire! If minifig-scale LEGO creations aren’t for you, there’s no need to fret because [E]ddy Plu has your back with his microscale AT-ACT.
Even at this tiny scale, Plu captured the distinct walker with its orange cargo hold and delicate legs. Best of all, the tiny splashes of water and lazer beam bolts give this miniature beach a real sense of action. And the microscale stormtroopers and rebels are pretty cute too.
Those orcs surely had something sinister planned for their prisoners, but luckily for these poor souls, the King’s cavalry arrived just in the nick of time. Paul Trach‘s latest LEGO scene might not include any grand castles, but it’s got some action-packed fig posing and lovely autumn colors. Of course, the star of Paul’s scene is that ingenious jungle gym-esque cage made of tubing and robot arms.
Fire stations are a LEGO staple, both in sets and custom creations. There are many out there, but few as good as this one by S Asbury, who seems to be somewhat of a perfectionist, as indicated by his description of his fire department build: “It took me more than ten years to build a fire station. I’d start one, then start over after deciding it wasn’t up to par.” I must say that all the effort was worth it. The texture, clean lines and strong contrast are obvious characteristics of modern architecture, of which this fire station is a perfect example. The camera angle helps a lot too, putting the observer into the perspective of a minifig, and that is always a good way to make a model appear more immersive.
I would think twice about ducking through mike m.‘s narrow street, no matter how much of a hurry I was in. Piles of overflowing trash clutter the thin lane, and the myriad of signs hanging uncomfortably at head height do a wonderful job of making the place look just too unwelcoming for my taste. What I find most interesting is that the reflective nature of LEGO bricks, which usually gets in the way of making creations look realistic, actually looks like faded graffiti on the left wall. It took me a while to put my finger on it, and it’s a very neat effect.
This gigantic Godzilla is a masterpiece like no other. Builder IGU gloriously captures the essence of this monster and leaves you in awe. The tail construction features a great use of tyres to give it an organic look and feeling of strength.
I can’t think of anything scarier that has been constructed in LEGO in recent times. The Stegosaurus-like plates are cleverly constructed, giving Godzilla his familiar silhouette. He stands tall and proud, and makes you wonder at just how heavy this guy really is!
