One bug-eyed Ninja, coming up!

Monkfish44 is training insectoid, bug-eyed creatures in the way of the ninja. Doesn’t seem to wise, if you ask me. Those things have a way of turning on you.

More Preliminary 2009 Set Pictures (Indy and Clone Wars) [News]

lokosuperfluoLEGOman has updated the folder with more pictures of 2009 LEGO sets, including Star Wars: Clone Wars and Indiana Jones.  Please keep in mind that these are all preliminary pictures and are almost certainly subject to change, therefore the use of old pieces in new figures (such as Patrick the starfish’s torso used for the brute in the Flying Wing set and the Imperial Guard torso used for Willie) will probably change.  Also note that the Flying Wing preliminary set art includes a Swastika, something The LEGO Company will certainly not use in the final box art.  Note that the pictures seen here are from corran11’s photostream on Flickr, because some images are cropped and rotated for easier viewing.

Mad Scientist on Parade

This spindly-legged walker, by demdike, screams out the evilness of its owner. I’m loving the plethora of automated minions too. Hopefully the builder enters this in the BrickScience contest!

Where in the world is Andrew?

Some of you may have been wondering where I am. Well, I’ve been keeping company with the likes of James Joyce:

And Richard the Lionhearted:

Now, where could I possibly be?

First pictures of 2009 LEGO sets [News]

UPDATE: Full coverage of 2009 LEGO sets

Enough with the speculation; Brickshelf user lokosuperfluoLEGOman has images of some of the 2009 sets scanned from a Spanish LEGO catalog. Indeed, Pirates are making a comeback and City does go to farm (and even cows are included)!

EDIT: pictures refound in Majhost user M-longer’s gallery.

Another Sky-Fi legend

Nnenn reminds us with his newest creation that he is still the master of Sky-Fi. What I particularly like about this creation is the enchanting picture below, where the creation is merged with a perfect background.

Welcome to the Gronlif’s Magic Forest!

Johannes “Jojo” Koehler just finished uploading the rest of his pictures of his incredible Magic Forest. Its definitely been worth the wait. Go check it out. Now!

Check out Jojo’s Flickr account as well.

Steven’s Folly

Steven Marshall has posted a really nice ruined keep, which he calls “Folly”. Building a good ruin is harder than it appears. But this builder has done a seamless job of combining the ruin with the landscaping. The fact that he uses technic liftarms for the walls is an added bonus.

Possible 2009 LEGO sets [Rumor]

EDIT (AB): The Brothers Brick generally only posts confirmed news. Since this list has turned out to be at least partly speculation, I’m removing the list below (and I locked comments last night). If you’re really interested in seeing the rumor list, I’m sure you can find it if you dig deep enough on the ‘net. ;-) You can continue discussion of the confirmed sets in the First pictures of 2009 LEGO sets post.

Brickshelf user Whung is known for his early postings of upcoming set photos. At his blog, we think his name is William Hung from Hong Kong. Also on his blog was a recent posting of the possible 2009 LEGO sets (and I don’t know where he got the list)! Check out the interesting lineup of Star Wars that includes Tauntauns while Pirates make a comeback and City goes to farm!

Desert + Hideout + Guns = Apocalypse!

This arid desert hideout by CrimsonWolf is full of highly detailed goodness. I’m definitely going to have to steal that spiky plant idea.

It isn’t always “Happily ever after”

Nolnet shows us that life often has unexpected consequences. Kissing a frog never seemed like a good thing to me anyway.

Best use of a SpongeBob fig I’ve seen yet.

Andrew Lee breaks the Rules

Or does he? Andrew takes the current Nascar fad and turns it on its head. This makes it a lot more interesting in my book…

Thanks to Curtis for getting our rear in gear on this one.
