Will you get a kick out of LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football [REVIEW]

LEGO Ideas has produced an increasing number of sets based on contests, in addition to the regular get-10,000-votes method. Most of these have been smaller gift-with-purchase items, but LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football joins 21329 Fender Stratocaster as a full-size retail set. This was the winning submission in the We Love Sports LEGO Ideas contest, and let’s get right to the main question: the winning submission was a full-size, 11-on-11 table football setup (usually referred to as foosball in the U.S.). When the contest results were announced, lots of fans were excited to get a near full-size playable game. That swiftly turned to disappointment when the official pictures were released. The set has been scaled down to 5-a-side, less than half the size of the original! While there are very clear reasons for that choice, does it still leave us with a desirable set? LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football, with 2,339 pieces and a whopping 22* minifigures (* and even more hair and heads), is available now for US $249.99 | CAN $309.99 | UK £214.99.

LEGO Icons Winter Village Collection 10308: Holiday Main Street – Wintertime Retail Therapy [Review]

LEGO Star Wars 75331 The Razor Crest Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) from The Mandalorian [Review]

When The Mandalorian series began to air in 2019, one of the things that captured many fans’ hearts right off the bat (including my own) was Din Djarin’s battered bounty hunter vessel the Razor Crest. It fit perfectly into the famously “lived-in” Star Wars universe of the original trilogy, and so it’s fitting that 75331 The Razor Crest is the first vehicle from outside the movie trilogies to receive the Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) treatment. At 28 inches long (72cm), the UCS Razor Crest includes 6,187 pieces and features minifigures of Din Djarin, Kuiil, a Mythrol, Grogu, along with a brick-built blurrg. Revealed just a few days ago, the set will retail for US $599.99 | CAN $759.99 | UK £519.99 and will be available Oct. 3 for VIP members with general availability Oct. 7.

LEGO Ideas 40566: Ray the Castaway – A Marooned Gift with Purchase [Review]

It’s been over a year since the official LEGO Ideas vote revealed that Ray the Castaway by Daditwins would be a future gift with purchase. And now, at long last, we can get our hands on the final set (LEGO Ideas 40566: Ray the Castaway) from October 1st – 13th with qualifying purchases of US $120 | CAN TBD | UK £120 from LEGO stores or LEGO Shop Online. Clocking in at 239 pieces, is this GWP something everyone will need to pick up, or will it be “cast away” as inferior? Read on for my full review to find out.

LEGO Avatar 40554 Jake Sully & his Avatar [Review]

The BrickHeadz line has expanded to cover a wide range of pop culture in the past two years, so it is not at all surprising that the wave of sets coming with the release of the second Avatar movie includes one. 40554 Jake Sully & his Avatar features the main character Jake, both in his original human form and as his Na’vi avatar. It contains 246 pieces and will be available October 1st and retail for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99.

LEGO Super Mario 71411 The Mighty Bowser – A boss of a build [Review]

Pretty much everyone who hasn’t been living under a rock is acquainted with Nintendo and the Super Mario franchise. Indeed, the little guy and his troupe of friends and enemies are a pop culture icon, and a marriage between LEGO and Nintendo was always inevitable. Whether you’re playing or displaying, there are sets for everyone, even if you’re not a diehard nostalgic fan. The latest addition, Mario’s arch enemy, is certainly no exception. LEGO Super Mario 71411 The Mighty Bowser (which will be available October 1st and retail for US $269.99 | CAN $349.99 | UK £229.99) might just put a smile on the faces of even decidedly uninterested builders. LEGO Harry Potter 76406 Hungarian Horntail Dragon [Review]

The summer 2022 Harry Potter wave includes one more display-oriented set, 76406 Hungarian Horntail Dragon. This is the third in what seems to be a series of large(er)-scale winged, flapping creature builds from the Harry Potter theme, following Hedwig the owl and Fawkes the phoenix. Of course, those models were of much smaller creatures, closer to 1:2 or 1:4 in scale. This build roughly matches the first two in size, so the scale is much smaller. Here’s our review of the set, which contains 671 pieces and 1 minifigure, and is available now for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99.

This set is based on a license The LEGO Group has with the Warner Brothers films, not J.K. Rowling directly. The transphobic views expressed by Rowling do not reflect the values of The Brothers Brick or, indeed, those of The LEGO Group. The magical world Rowling created, in which many who felt a bit different could see themselves, meant a great deal to so many people, including those that Rowling now demeans. TBB affirms each individual LEGO fan’s choice to claim a piece of the world for themselves, or to reject it entirely.

The LEGO Ideas theme has led to many popular shows finding new life in plastic bricks, from The Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Friends, and more. The sets let fans recreate their favorite moments and scenes, and actors of major blockbuster movies like Star Wars, Jurrasic Park, and the Marvel franchise are not the only celebrities who get to collect minifig versions of themselves. LEGO VIP 5007331 – Retro Tin Lunchbox: Vintage 1965 sandwich not included, thankfully [Review]

LEGO Ideas 21335 Motorized Lighthouse – a beacon of brick-built class... and cost [Review]

During the COVID lockdown, thousands of people all over the globe found themselves with a significant amount of extra free time and the ability to create wonderful builds. The LEGO Ideas page was overwhelmed with submissions, with an unprecedented number of builds being approved for production. Many of these have been officially licensed products like the Fender Stratocaster, Home Alone, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

While licensed LEGO sets can be very cool, it is always nice to see the LEGO Ideas team approve projects that are wholly original and appeal to a wider range of people. Often these sets don’t have the extra cost associated with licensing, but sometimes they do – as is the case for the newest addition: LEGO Ideas 21335 Motorized Lighthouse. This 2065 piece set will be available September 1st and retail for US $299.99 | CAN $379.99 | UK £259.99. Join us as we take a closer look and see if that high price tag is worth it.

LEGO 75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar for 2022 – Where life is a snowy, sandy beach [Review]

Christmas still seems a long ways off, but merchandising has never cared much about that. And sometimes you need to make sure you have stuff on hand before the season starts! That’s the case with Advent Calendars, anyway. If you pick one up mid-December you’re really late to the party. So maybe it’s a good thing that LEGO has revealed the 75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar now. You know, so we can prepare.

This 329 piece set will be available September 1st from the LEGO Shop Online for US $49.99 | CAN $59.99 | UK £29.99. We’ll still be doing our annual daily Advent reveals in December, but if you don’t mind spoilers you can see all the goodies inside this calendar right now!
