The LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 18, also known as the party series, was revealed a few weeks ago, but today we got a closer look in person at the New York Toy Fair. The 17 minifigures in the series are celebrating 40 years since the first LEGO minifigure was produced: the classic policeman. The series will be available on April 1 for $3.99 USD per blind bag.

The 18th series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures has been revealed, and we are in for a party. From cake to balloons and costumes galore, the 17 minifigures in the series are celebrating LEGO’s 60th anniversary this year. The series should be available for purchase in April, and will likely be another highly sought-after collection.

It’s been nearly a year since The LEGO Batman Movie hit theaters, but LEGO is continuing to create tie-in items for the moderately popular film. In November, we got the excellent 70922 Joker Manor, which impressed us with its complex techniques and new roller coaster system. Now the latest series of Collectible Minifigures is revisiting the world of LEGO Batman with 20 all-new minifigures. 71020 The LEGO Batman Movie Series 2 minifigures retail for $3.99 and are available now from Amazon, the LEGO Shop Online, BrickLink, and eBay.
This past month we have seen a flurry of 2018 set announcements, including a new wave of LEGO Batman Movie sets with many more villains and Batman outfits. To add to the cavalcade of characters, LEGO has announced a second series of collectible minifigures from the movie.
The 20 unique figures will hit store shelves early next year for $3.99 each. Here they are below, with our initial impressions.

Just as LEGO did with The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie, there’s a wave of collectible minifigures dedicated to the characters in September’s The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Revealed only a last month, 71019 The LEGO Ninjago Movie Collectible Minifigures will be hitting stores August 1 ahead of the movie, and feature 20 characters who, nicely enough, are not all ninjas. But much like the world of Ninjago itself, these characters, who range from a sushi chef to a teen pop fan, abide in a stereotyping mashup of all things Asian. The figures will retail for $3.99 each, and are concealed in blind packs just like previous series.
Yesterday we brought you the first ten LEGO Ninjago Movie collectible minifigures (complete with bowls and cereal) and today LEGO has revealed the second half of this series. Here they are below, with our initial impressions. It appears that the complete series will be another highly sought-after collection. Go ninja, go Ninjago!
Lloyd
After seeing the amazing bowls from yesterday’s Lloyd minifigure, today’s is a bit more straightforward with standard ninja garb. However, a possibly new 3×3 tile with the blueprints of an awesome dragon mech as well as the new tassel piece at the bottom of his sword are welcome additions. It appears that he will also come with a hairpiece, doubling his dashing looks.
Flashback Garmadon
We called it yesterday, folks, with a younger Misako comes the downright terrifying Flashback Garmadon. I’m not sure if it is the smooth blonde locks or the aviator glasses, but this Garmadon strikes more fear into me than his normal-decked out villain look. He comes with a camera and a lovely photograph of his cozy volcano home. At least we now know where La-Lloyd got his hair from!

To round out the theme, LEGO has announced a Ninjago Movie themed series of collectible minifigures and revealed half of them today. Here they are below, with our initial impressions. Tomorrow, LEGO will reveal the second half of this series (including the pink haired girl from the packaging and a standard issue Lloyd in ninja garb). But from just the ten that we have seen, it appears that the series will be another highly sought-after collection for both fun and parts. Lloyd Garmadon
It looks like we are in for a beautiful oriental bowl set with new utensils, as well as a new molded head with hoodie. From the scrunched up packaging, it appears that the series will also include a ninja version of La-Lloyd too.
Volcano Garmadon
These volcano PJs are adorable and the upper shorter torso could be used for a cute kids sleeping set. But what stole out attention is the beautiful bowl rounding out the new dish set.
Collectible Minifigures Series 17 are due for release May 1 at the standard price of $3.99 USD, but if previous series have been any indicator, lucky shoppers may begin finding them earlier. We’ve already some reports that they’re on sale in LEGOLAND Billund, so if you’re excited about this series, start keeping an eye out now. With seventeen numbered series in, plus another 7 special series, LEGO Collectible Minifigures are just as popular as they were when they debuted 7 years ago. The wide cast of characters in each series, always sporting a variety of new elements, keeps fans coming over and over again. With such an open-ended theme, LEGO designers are nowhere close to running the well dry on popular and recognizable occupations for minifigures. 71018 Collectible Minifigures Series 17, which will be available beginning May 1, draws from this infinite well to add a host of interesting new characters, ranging from a Dance Instructor to a Gladiator. Aside from the box art revealed at the New York Toy Fair, we only got our first look at this series yesterday, so I was delighted to have my review case show up on my doorstep that same day. Let’s dig in, and see what Series 17 has to offer.
We got our first look at the new Series 17 figures at Toy Fair in February, but that was just the box art. Today, we get to see all the new figures displayed individually—well, all but one. LEGO is keeping one figure under close wraps, showing it as just a silhouette.

LEGO had the box for the next series of Collectible Minifigures (CMF) covered up when we were at their preview event in New York yesterday, but after we, FBTB, and others had left, they uncovered the box for some reason, and media who were still hanging around got a peek.
