Devour the delicious LEGO 10267 Winter Village Gingerbread House [Review]

The Winter Village series is always highly anticipated, keeping LEGO fans on their toes regarding what the next set will be in the ever-growing storybook town. The series is celebrating eleven years of beloved Christmas scenes, the first of which was introduced in 2009. Now, fans of the theme can build the Winter Village Gingerbread House. Minus the re-release of the very first Winter Village Toy Shop in 2015, this is the tenth set in the series. It consists of 1477 pieces, the second-highest piece count in this series after the Winter Village Cottage (1490 pieces). Set 10267 Gingerbread House is priced at US $99.99 | CAN $139.99 | UK £89.99 and will be available on the 1st of October.

LEGO launches “Rebuild the World” campaign to inspire creativity in kids around the globe [News]

LEGO launched a new initiative today called Rebuild the World, a campaign with the purpose to “help nurture the creative skills of the next generation.” The company has partnered with musician Mark Ronson, British designer and inventor Dominic Wilcox, and 19-year-old David Aguilar, who built a prosthetic arm out of LEGO to ultimately “nurture the creativity and problem solving-capabilities every child is born with.”

To mark the occasion, LEGO is hosting some events at the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark and launched a series of videos that discuss how we can “Rebuild the World.” LEGO CEO Niels B. Christiansen and LEGO Brand Group Chairman Jørgen Vig Knudstorp also filmed a video explaining the initiative with a special message to AFOLs around the world.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 19 (71025) are back to the basics and better than ever [Review]

LEGO’s long-running collectible minifigures theme is back again with its third wave for the year. The last few waves focused on IP tie-ins, bringing a second wave of Disney, The LEGO Movie 2, and the Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts series. 71025 LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 19 returns to the classic formula with a wide variety of non-branded characters from all walks of life and lore, and it’s a refreshing change of pace even for those who loved the latest several series (I particularly enjoyed the Harry Potter figures). Series 19 is also the smallest set in the past year, returning to the standard 16 figures that were the trademark of the line until recently. As usual, they will retail for USA $3.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £2.99 per figure and are packed in blind bags. With characters ranging from a Fright Knight to a guy in a pizza costume, let’s dive in and take a look at Series 19.

Behind the scenes of the new LEGO 10267 Gingerbread House [Video]

LEGO has published a festive video showing off the new Winter Village set, 10267 Gingerbread House. Former LEGO Designer Tiago Catarino gives a hands-on tour of the set, showing off the whimsical design, play features and gingerbread minifigures.

Tiago said that the most difficult parts of designing the set were getting the multiple angles of the roof to work together as well as nailing the look of the chimney. He also told one of his dark secrets that he has actually never tasted gingerbread! Hopefully that changes this holiday season.

Tiago was a LEGO designer for a little over three years, but left earlier this summer for family reasons, meaning that this video has been kept under wraps for quite some time! We wish Tiago the best of luck, and thanks for leaving us with such a sweet goodbye present.

LEGO designers of the new Disney Train and Station talk about their inspirations [Video]

LEGO has released a new video featuring the designers of the new 71044 Disney Train and StationLEGO Design Manager Marcos Bessa and Graphic Designer Austin Carlson both show off the set and its features, and discuss their inspirations and design processes.

Some interesting things to note, the Disney Train is 8 studs wide instead of the standard 6 that LEGO has been known for in order to make space for all the interior details. There are also no new elements in the set aside from Goofy’s head. Marcos also talks about a fun detail that he doesn’t want to spoil, so if you are curious head to the end of our review to find out what it is!
