LEGO has just posted a big batch of previously unreleased photos of the forthcoming 75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters, due out in January 2016.
The new photos focus on the box art, interior, and minifigs. Helping to explain the $350 price tag, the firehouse has a fully furnished interior, with three floors of detailed rooms.

The Speeder Custom Body Shop Kitchen is getting busy as our Pimp Rey’s Speeder Contest picks up speed. We welcome all interpretations, but these two delicious builds got our taste buds watering.
First, straight from the freezer, is Koen’s ‘Ice Pop Speeder’. Koen was clearly concerned about Rey coping with the hot deserts of Jakku and pimped her a chilled ice pop complete with Ice Cream vendor… not sure how she will feel about him taking a quick bite first!
Next comes the ‘Hot Dog Speeder’ dished up by Jabberwokka. Hot dogs are always a tasty fast food, and this Hot Dog Speeder is served in a neat napkin with some condiments. Let’s see if he can mustard up the speed to ketchup with the other pimped Speeders!
Australian LEGO Certified Professional Ryan McNaught and his workshop team have built a life-sized replica of the TARDIS from Doctor Who. Images of the LEGO TARDIS on Bondi Beach in Sydney started circulating on the web yesterday, but you can see it in person at the Zing Pop Culture Store in Macquarie Park through the 18th this month, and then at the Doctor Who Festival in Sydney on the 21st and 22nd of November.
We reached out to Ryan and the BBC to uncover some details and exclusive photos not shared elsewhere. Ryan tells us that his team of 5 builders spent 45 hours just to design the LEGO TARDIS, and then 206 man hours to build it. Everyone is sworn to secrecy on the part count, since the BBC will be holding a contest to guess the number of LEGO pieces used to build it — suffice to say it’s a fairly insane number of dark blue LEGO all in one place! Built to exacting specifications provided by the BBC archives, it stands 316 bricks high (303 cm or nearly 10 feet tall).
The front of the TARDIS features a brick-built notice and fully functional door, which will enable Peter Capaldi himself to emerge from the LEGO TARDIS at the Doctor Who Festival later this month.
The light on top works, and Ryan’s team even built a matching Sonic Screwdriver.
To enable the BBC to transport the LEGO TARDIS to various events, it incorporates an internal steel frame. As to other secret details, Ryan tells us, “It may in fact be bigger on the inside, it certainly felt like it when we were building it!

David Zambito built the smallest recognizable Aztec pyramid out of Lego using stacked corner panels to imitate the steps of the structure. Now the gods demand the sacrifice of your microfigs.
I always appreciate it when my interest in LEGO introduces me to something I’ve never heard of before. And that’s exactly what happened here with ledukeniko‘s recent character build. Please meet my new acquaintance, Cosmik Roger, the main character in a French comic book series that ran from 2002 to 2013. From what I can tell, with my limited knowledge of the French language, Roger travels space looking for booze, women, and a new home for the doomed human race.
Ledukeniko translated the incredible art style of the comic into a very pose-able and lovable-looking LEGO build. Roger’s signature messy hair and oversize nose looks fantastic! But ledukeniko didn’t stop with the main character. He also built, Xub, an alien bartender from the comics who apparently buys his clothes from the same stores as Han Solo. As we all know, “Iron Man” isn’t actually made of iron, but rather gold-titanium alloy. Robert Downey Jr wouldn’t lie to us, would he? At any rate, definitely not made out of iron or any alloys (but still as impressive) is this new creation by nobu_tary. We’re not sure if this helmet would actually fit on a person’s head, but taking a guess from the size of certain pieces, it does look up to the task.
This will pair nicely with other Iron Man creations we’ve featured in the past, like a gauntlet or the famous arc reactor. Everyone keep up the good work, we’ll soon have an entire suit.
Polybags of Finn from The Force Awakens are starting to show up at brick-and-morter stores, and one of the interesting things about these small, early sets is that they include a foldout with the first good, official photos of 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets. Brickset has gotten ahold of one of the fold-outs.
The photos show several Battle Pack sets from both the Classic Trilogy and The Force Awakens, along with the first views of a Carbon Freezing Chamber set (75137), Rebel emplacement on Hoth (75138), and another redesigned escape pod with more figs than just the usual Artoo and Threepio (75136).
The back of the foldout reveals better photos of the individual minifigs that come in these sets.

Jake is back with a follow-up to his Phaeton-class jumpship. His CX-20 Spindle Demon is just as stunning.
Otto Blees built an equally impressive model of the LRV3 Javelin jumpship.
It’s ironic that Mar Vei built Rivendell as an entry into the Colossal Castle Contest as the whole of his creation fits into a 16×16 stud footprint. It’s an entry for the “micro castle” category and, as many of you will know, building in microscale is often more tricky than having a full range of parts and building techniques at your disposal.
Rivendell is an Elven retreat within a hidden valley in Middle-earth, a fictional world created by J. R. R. Tolkien. It was seen as a place of beauty, tranquillity and a place of refuge for the weary. Mar Vei captures so much, despite the limits of microscale, with inspired use of parts.
The Elven architecture is represented by minifigure legs, headgear and hands to give detail and structure. My favourite part usage is a minifigure hard hat, normally worn by a construction worker, that forms the White Council Chambers’ domed roof. Cheese slope and 1×1 plate trees grow on the sloped rocky wall of the gorge with trans-clear waterfalls cascading into a river. This creation is instantly recognisable as Rivendell.
Remember Han Solo being proud of his Millennium Falcon — that she made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs? I wonder what he would say about this beauty by Jeo Gan. I’ve never seen a racing makeover of the Falcon before, but Technic panels from the Grand Prix Racer look like pure genius; not only do they perfectly recreate the overall shape of the ship, but also stickers grant an iconic spaceship with a brand new style. Moreover, bent gray baseplates in the background are an unusually designed part of the Mos Eisley Spaceport setting.
Novvember, the annual month of starfighter building, continues apace. And here’s a belter of a build from Flavio. The golden cockpit is a nice touch, and the striping brings a 90s-era gaming glow to my heart – it’s very F-Zero or Wipeout. But it’s the level of detailing, particularly around the engines, which really makes this model for me.
Textured bricks break up the surfaces and add depth and intricacy, and along with the use of minifig accessories, like claws and ice skates, these touches make the model look much bigger than it really is. I’d like to swoosh this around the room making rocket thruster and pew-pew blaster noises.
