Updated edition of The LEGO Book from DK will come with an exclusive LEGO 2×4 printed brick [News]

Global publisher DK, known for its releases of LEGO-themed reference books like Ultimate LEGO Star Wars and LEGO DC Superheroes: Build Your Own Adventure, today announces their next special edition book — an updated edition of The LEGO Book. The 280-page book will celebrate both the 60th anniversary of the LEGO brick and the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure, and will guide its readers through the incredible story of the world’s most famous toy manufacturer.

Besides being updated with pictures and facts on the latest LEGO themes and products, The LEGO Book will include stories about how some fan creations have become official LEGO products though the LEGO Ideas program, and much more. Moreover, the book will come with an exclusive, red 2×4 LEGO brick featuring an outline of the LEGO brick design and the dates 1958 and 2018, symbolising a piece of the company’s heritage.

The LEGO Book will be available starting October 4, 2018 and will retail at £18.99 in the UK.

Nowadays, we’re slowly approaching the point at which, when spotting a new BrickHeadz set on a store shelf, you might wonder, “I thought they’d already released this BrickHeadz character!” And this is no joke — with almost 60 figures released so far one can easily lose track of characters turned into funny chubby heroes. Technology, uh, finds a way...

Sometimes to create an awesome new design you just have to skillfully mix a couple of the most trendy things. Anthony Wilson picked up dinosaurs and Nexo Knights, and the Tyrannosaurus Nex was born. Fast on foot, this monster has no mercy on the enemies of the Nexo kingdom. What I love the most about this creation is that it’s not just a dinosaur covered with laser guns, but an actual two-legged robot designed as a fierce animal.

These Danish bricks all look so Greek to me..!

Luca Di Lazzaro uses a whole lot of white bricks to recreate this magnificent piece of sunny Greece, which seems to be inspired by a place like Santorini. The local architecture there, famous for its striking mix of white walls and dark blue roofs, seems very clean and primitive. But can you notice all the tiniest details introduced by Luca? Red and blue window frames, blue and white fences, and, of course, brilliant outside decorations made with 1×4 bricks with sand green wallpaper pattern straight from the Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave set.

DC Super Heroes San Diego Comic-Con 2018 LEGO Exclusive revealed [News]

The first San Diego Comic-Con 2018 LEGO Exclusive — 75512 Millennium Falcon Cockpit — was just revealed yesterday. The new day brings us the next SDCC 2018 set — 75996 DC Super Heroes Aquaman and Storm, and a closer look at yesterday’s reveal. A first-look at DC‘s iconic Aquaman and Storm from their original animated TV appearances in the ’60s as a collectible LEGO building set, which will be exclusively sold at San Diego Comic-Con.

Looking at the elements, fans would rejoice as it seems that there appear to be no unique parts to build in these on your own. Both Minifigures in the Star Wars set come from the recent Kessel Run Millennium Falcon (75212). What is unique is the vertically oriented box that’s designed like a comic book cover featuring line art instead of photorealistic scene. Collectors of boxed sets would certainly want to have this in their collection simply for the uniqueness of that old-school look. The third and final set will be revealed soon.

LEGO City 60204 City Hospital [Review]

Despite being one of the most fascinating and amiable places in many LEGO universes, LEGO City is notorious for its poor health services accessibility: Since the start of the modern theme in 2005, only two hospital buildings (in other words, hospital-themed LEGO sets) have been released. As a comparison, LEGO City can boast 9 police stations and 5 fire stations complete with numerous cars, motorcycles and aircraft. A modern medical center was long-awaited by many fans, and finally here is the first step towards healthier population: LEGO City 60204 City Hospital set. The set was revealed back in April and immediately kindled many fans’ interest.
