We know Aleksander Stein best for his impressive military hardware, but he’s branched out lately with civilian versions of those vehicles. His latest is a highly detailed 6×6 crane truck:

In addition to the great colorful striping on this Volkswagen rally car by Pirate_Cat, what really caught my eye was the very simple, but effective, way he created the spraying sand. It really captures the motion.
The interior is packed with cool details.
This Peterbilt 359 Logging Truck, by Maciej Drwiega., is stunning. I’ve seen a lot of Lego trucks and this one is tops. I’m loving the color as well. You don’t see these built in green very often.
Apparently, there are garbagemen who ride tricycles. This falls under the immense category of stuff I never knew before. If Marin Stipkovic hadn’t built this clever rendition of the trike that they use….I probably never would have known.

If you were a boy in the 1980s, you probably had some sort of Lamborghini Countach merchandise, be it a poster on your bedroom wall (in James May’s case) or a somewhat more nerdy pencil holder (in mine).

I’ve just finished reading a couple books about the war on the eastern front in WWII, so it was good to see this model by Henrik Hoexbroe of a Soviet T-34 tank. I especially like all the equipment attached to the exterior and the little red flag on the back.
For those of you who are extreme nerds like me, yes I know it’s a 1944 model, so it probably wasn’t as much of a surprise for the wermacht as the 1940 model. I took a little artistic license.
Canadian builder Dave DeGobbi has created a massive, steampunk-inspired creation that takes a small city and puts it on a mobile platform! The idea is crazy enough to work both in concept and execution. This creation is supposedly a luxury resort set in a post-apocalyptic world. What wouldn’t I pay for a trip to this exotic paradise?

Marek Markiewicz‘s Kenworth W900 Rotator tow truck has it all and is the best large truck creation I have seen. Beyond aesthetics and resemblance, the truck boosts a sick array of Power Functions features including lights, remote control with steering, pneumatics, and countless motors that drive even the tiniest detail. You have to see the video to be convinced.
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) has made instructions for his popular 1931 Ford Pickup. For once, the answer to the question “I can has instrucshuns?” is:
“Can has.”
In this two-for-one post (and an excuse to blog my own creation), I highlight two new ways of having your way in the underwater world of LEGO Atlantis. First, my Harpoon Hunter is a combat mecha to fend off the guardians of Atlantis. The model was a result of my desire to test an incredibly useful joint technique I recently learned.
Next, Moritz Nolting (nolnet) depicts a vicious hunting vessel chasing a mersquid (the fusion of a mermaid and a squidman). I’m happy to see that we both agree on the use of certain plant life for the seabed, but Moritz’s view of the flora and fauna is obvious more fertile than mine.
