Marvel made its LEGO debut in 2002 with the Spider-Man sub-theme of LEGO Studio. Since then we’ve seen LEGO sets based on most films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, X-Men, as well as a steady stream of Spider-Man sets for builders of all ages. Large-scale sets like Avengers Tower, The X-Mansion, and The Daily Bugle have proven incredibly popular with collectors and builders alike.

Come and Marvel at this large-scale LEGO Stan Lee

We’ve seen loads of LEGO builds on TBB by Lego_nuts over the last three years. But his latest creation, allowing us to peer into the mind of the irreverent Stan Lee, has got to be my favorite yet! His large-scale office is full of references to Marvel properties, from an expertly crafted Infinity Gauntlet to Stark’s arc reactor. The use of the Constraction heads as busts on the shelf behind Lee is top notch. But it’s the big man himself that steals the show in this scene. The creation exudes that friendly charisma that Stan was known for, with his smiling face behind a white mustache. His glasses are spot-on at this scale, and I’m pretty sure Lee’s worn that exact outfit in one of his many movie cameos.

A LEGO Quantumaniac

The first trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania dropped less than two weeks ago, but it has already inspired some LEGO homages. Case in point, this build by flambo14 of Scott Lang going giant in a microscopic Quantum Realm city. Scott’s brick-built proportions are a little more realistic compared to his minifigure-esque giant-form in the 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle, which allows him to take a more natural pose in this shot. And the microscale city gives us some charming Classic Space vibes thanks to the use of the inclined supports and old school loud speakers. Check out more of flambo14’s sci-fi movie homages in our archives.

This Spider-man scene is bananas!

Over the years we’ve seen the LEGO banana being used in various creative ways. The part was originally designed for LEGO Belville, so it’s a bit out of scale when it comes to LEGO minifigures. Fans love using it for claws, teeth, horns, fangs and yes bananas. Thanks to themarkstudios_84 we can now also add motion effects to that list. The Pork Grind figure is looking very sleek and the inclusion of motion graphics makes these figures look like they popped right out of a comic book.

Pork Grind and Spider-Ham appear to be running. The bananas represent the movement of the legs. Adding the tasmanian devil swirl tile is a very nice touch. And the difference between the ice cream scoops and the Monkey Kid cloud also indicates the difference in height between the two running minifigures. The thought cloud adds to the comic book feel, same goes for the stars flying around poor Spider-man’s head. My guess is Spider-Ham tried to hit Pork Grind with the mallet, but he ended up hitting our friendly neighbourhood Spider-man.

LEGO Con 2022 reveals include Avatar, 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, Floral Art set, and more [News]

Today LEGO Con 2022 — LEGO’s online fan event targeted at families — brought the reveal of a huge lineup of sets from a variety of themes. We’ve already featured some of the sets, but further highlights include Marvel Infinity Saga’s 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, a 2,708-piece, modular-style version of Doctor Strange’s mystical hideout as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The reveals also include the long-rumored acquisition of James Cameron’s Avatar license, which will feature the tall blue aliens as minifigures with extended limbs previously used in the Toy Story sets from 2010. Only a single set has been revealed so far, 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls, though we expect more to come. LEGO also unveiled a new mosaic set, 31207 Floral Art, which features a variety of flower patterns. Other sets revealed include BrickHeadz and Minecraft. All of the sets are slated for an August 1 release except the Avatar set, which will follow on October 1.

LEGO Marvel 76216 Iron Man Armory [Review]

Iron Man 2 came out more than a decade ago. But the power of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is such that, even 12 years later, LEGO’s target audience can still be expected to have seen the film. At the time, LEGO didn’t do any real, specific tie-in for the movie. But they’re making up for that now with set 76216 Iron Man Armory. While this set draws from multiple of Tony Stark’s on-screen adventures, it’s got a definite preference for the Armored Avenger’s second cinematic outing. This 496-piece set will be available on June 1st from the LEGO Shop Online for US $89.99 | CAN $119.99 | UK TBD.

The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.
