LEGO has been releasing sets based on Disney brands since 1999, including everything from Winnie the Pooh DUPLO sets to the massive Disneyland Castle for adult collectors. If there’s a new Disney or Pixar film hitting theaters or Disney Plus, chances are you can expect at least one new LEGO tie-in. Sets inspired by classic films like Snow White, Frozen and Moana have become a cornerstone of LEGO’s product lineup.

In LEGO’s latest wave of Disney sets, there hasn’t been a ton of wow-power, but there have been a few that struck our eye. One of those sets is LEGO Disney 43252 Moana’s Flowerpot. Our initial impression was that it was a unique marriage with the Botanical line. LEGO Disney 43240 Maleficent’s Dragon Form – Is this Sleeping Beauty set a snooze-fest? [Review]

Whispers about a LEGO version of Maleficent as a dragon have been floating around for several months now. There was a lot of hype about what LEGO Disney 43240 Maleficent’s Dragon Form might look like. But despite The Sleeping Beauty being a Disney Princess film, it was still somewhat surprising to get this model in the form of a minidoll set. Is it a sleeper or is there more to it? LEGO Disney 43245 The Magical Madrigal House – Family fun [Review]

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a couple of years since Disney’s Encanto came out. It feels like it was just yesterday, and the soundtrack is a frequent listen in this household. As far its marriage with LEGO, the famous Casita has been a frequent inspiration for talented builders. It only makes sense that LEGO would put out their own rendition. Join us as we take a look at that set, dubbed LEGO Disney 43245 The Magical Madrigal House. This model, which contains 1560 pieces, will be available June 1st, retailing for US $159.99 | CAN $209.99 | UK £139.99.

Incredible cars can be small as well.

Let’s be cheesy for a moment and call this LEGO build “Incredible.” The cheesy factor is amplified if you know your Disney facts and recognize this car as the one driven by Mr. Incredible, also known simply as “The Incredibile.” Builder SFH_Bricks designed and built this superhero vehicle for the 20th anniversary of the Disney Pixar movie The Incredibles. Built from only 362 pieces, it fits two minifigures and features some of the iconic details seen in the animated film. This model is a joy to behold and a fun trip down memory lane for those of us who were kids, or at least kids at heart, when this film was released.

If only this were an official LEGO set — which it is not — this would make a great addition to the collection of any Disney Pixar fan, who could previously only acquire a similar build officially from LEGO Juniors set 10760.

Miniature magic inspired by Disney Parks.

LEGO mini builds can surprisingly hold a great deal of detail in such a small package. Gregory Coquelz has created a series of mini-builds based on Disney theme park attractions. Here, we see the “Swiss Family Robinson” treehouse. Despite its minimal size, we can still appreciate the arboreal dwelling with its multiple structures, elaborate path, and a water wheel that I’m sure helps the family with everyday activities. As a frequent LEGO builder myself, I wonder if Gregory dealt with any ‘broken branches’ during this build, considering the amount of Dark Brown pieces used in the build. Surely this would look great next to LEGO’s current line of miniature Disney products, especially LEGO 40478: Mini Disney Castle.

Belle and Beast star in beautiful LEGO minifigure habitats

Disney 100 might be over, but for LEGO builders like legonano(tama), the animation celebration never stops. Her latest tribute is a collection of minifig habitats based on Beauty and the Beast. Each scene is packed with fun details, my favorite definitely the being the “Be Our Guest” dining room scene with dancing plates and Cogsworth encased in gelatin. The builder plays with two scales here: traditional 8x8s on top of larger 12×12 habitats that allow for more complex scenes.

Minifig habitats are 8×8 vignettes that can and stacked and rearranged in pleasing geometric configurations. During COVID lockdown, it was a pretty big trend! So much so that even LEGO released some “official minifig habitats.” Its’s such a fun format for building that doesn’t demand a huge collection of parts to make something delightful. We’re warmed to see builders like legonano keeping the habitat trend going strong.

Casa de la Familia Madrigal: A brick-built Replica of Encanto’s Iconic House

Is this not the outcome every LEGO creative builder aspires to when encountering something they want to recreate in LEGO? “Casita,” arguably the standout feature of Disney’s film Encanto, was released in LEGO form in late 2021. With the release of 43202 The Madrigal House, LEGO provided enthusiasts of all ages with a glimpse of the potential in using LEGO bricks to build “Casita” from the movie. Builder kopoppo_mama has skillfully blended creativity and photorealism to bring “Casita” to life using what one could only assume is an exceedingly large quantity of LEGO bricks. New LEGO sets for March 2024 now available for purchase [News]

These days, barely a month goes by without new LEGO sets becoming available. Some have more than others, and March is a bumper month for new releases! LEGO Disney 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cottage set revealed [News]

After it’s debut 87 years ago, an iconic structure found in an early Disney movie will finally be making its way to LEGO store shelves next month. Featuring 10 minifigures in total, LEGO Disney 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cottage depicts the straw-roofed structure, addition to a wishing well and glass casket. All 7 dwarfs make an appearance, as well as the titular Disney princess, the Prince, and the evil Queen wielding a poison apple. The set is also strewn with a wealth of woodland critters, including a bunny, squirrel, butterfly, and plenty of birds. This slice of 1930’s animation will be available from the LEGO website beginning on March 1st for Insiders, but those not in the rewards program will have to wait three more days to get a crack at the new set. Whenever you’re able to get your hands on this 2,228-piece model, it will retail for US $219.99 | CAN $289.99 | UK £189.99.

New LEGO sets for October 2023 now available for purchase [News]

It’s almost become its own holiday for LEGO fans: the first of the month brings a new slate of sets to the shelves of LEGO stores and LEGO.com. Lines will be formed, items will go on backorder, and Christmas preparations will be made. The month of October offers plenty of new sets for the upcoming holidays and in tribute to Disney franchises old and new. Early access to some of these sets may require you to be a member of the LEGO Insider program (if you were a VIP previously, you’re now an Insider by default).
