LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71023 for The LEGO Movie 2 officially revealed [News]

Today we’re getting our first official, high-quality look at LEGO’s newest line of Collectible Minifigures, featuring characters from The LEGO Movie 2, thanks to LEGO’s Chinese and Taiwanese first-quarter catalogs. This series, 71023 The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures will feature 20 characters from the new film, some of which are cross-licensed with The Wizard of Oz. The Wicked Witch of the West and her Flying Monkeys made an appearance in The LEGO Batman Movie with sets such as The Ultimate Batmobile, and it looks like the rest of the gang is showing up in The LEGO Movie 2. Most other sets for The LEGO Movie 2 are already available. The film comes out Febuary 8.

Simultaneously, German retailer B&B published their listing for the new series, providing us with a few extra details, such as the case image.

LEGO 71022 Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures [Review]

Since LEGO began the Collectible Minifigures theme in 2010, there have been quite a few special series based on licensed properties, from the Simpsons to Team Great Britain to The LEGO Movie. But it’s hard to imagine LEGO could have chosen a theme for their next minifigure line more likely to inspire fans’ devotion than the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, except perhaps the juggernaut that is Star Wars (and it’s unlikely to become a minifigure line anytime soon). The new theme based on the ultra-popular books and films about magicians and muggles features the greatest number of unique minifigures yet, with a full 22 to collect. Kept under wraps until an announcement just a few weeks ago, 71022 Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures are set to launch globally August 1, and they will be priced at $3.99 USD each.

Driving with Donald Duck in a fiery red roadster

Disney’s Donald Duck first graced the silver screen back in 1934, and he looks pretty good for being 84 years old! Donald’s claim to fame is his really short temper, but he is also known for cruising down the streets in his small curvy red car. Oliver Becker decided to build this car for his Donald minifigure, and the two look practically made for each other. In particular, Oliver’s model does a great job of capturing the exaggerated curves of the animated car.

He has also packed a lot of detail into such a small space, including flared headlights, interior upholstery, and even the iconic rear rumble seat (also known as a dickey). The white tires feel authentic to the source material, and they were only ever available in a single Spongebob Squarepants set from 2008.

LEGO reveals full pictures of the Unikitty theme and Collectible Unikitty Series 1 [News]

While we got a look at the box art for the six sets a few weeks ago, today LEGO’s given us full images of all the sets, including the Unikitty Collectible character line. Like the Powerpuff Girls that LEGO also announced today, these sets will be available beginning August 1. As befits Unikitty and her zany band, the sets are filled with bright colors and play features. Because they’re primarily targeted at the young demographic of fans of the Unikitty television show, the sets themselves may not be the most exciting for adult fans, but look closely and you’ll spot some new elements that will certainly be useful.

LEGO 71021 Collectible Minifigures Series 18 [Review]

Ever since LEGO introduced the minifigure, the tiny plastic characters have enthralled children and adults around the world. With hundreds of new figures each year, they’ve consistently proven to be one of LEGO’s most popular attractions, featuring prominently in most of LEGO’s products, and of course, they’ve spawned a whole theme just for themselves. Eight years from their inception, we’re now up to Minifigures Series 18 (71021), though of course there have been more than 18 series, with some special themes like The Simpsons or Team GB falling outside the numbering system. This wave of Collectible Minfigures (CMFs) features 17 unique characters and will retail for $3.99 USD. They should be available around April 1, though if previous series are any indication they may begin showing up in stores sooner. Let’s dive in and see what Series 18 is all about. (Hint: it’s a party!)
