I’m marking my return to blogging (been global and busy) by posting this lovely work in progress by Peter Norman (swoofty). I’ve tried weathering myself and it’s very difficult to pull off but I think Peter is well on the way with this one. Note the mixed blues.

What goes around, comes around
In your face
The undead are nothing new
This medieval soldier bravely takes on the undead in this scene by Luc. I’m really impressed with the fig posing in this little diorama. Unfortunately, knives don’t work that well against undead skeletons. I’m afraid he’s doomed.
Not your typical Trash Truck
Red Raptor Rolls Out
Rong Yiren trots out this red beastie. I love the pose on this guy. Looks like he’s about to go for your throat in a totally whimsical way.
A place for the literate fig
I’m working on my second LEGO creation, which is in the Cafe Corner standard, so I’ve been looking around for good examples of that theme and am especially enjoying any builds that incorporate all kinds of interior details. “Page*s Books” by notenoughbricks sure fits the bill. It’s been under construction for over a year, and looks like it was well worth the effort.
The exterior has fun little details, including a flower piece as an apostrophe and nice use of a DUPLO water barrel, but the interior is what won me over for sure. The ground floor is a bookstore complete with genre sections, reading couches, stepping stools and a cash register. The upper floors are an apartment, including a big screen TV (with specs, just in case you needed them) and a nearly functional bathroom.
Also, it’s just wonderfully colorful and if I were a fig, I would love to live in this apartment above a bookstore. Wouldn’t you? Check out the whole photoset for details.
Stefan’s micro Star Trek fleet is ready to make first contact with the Borg
I think we could blog pretty much everything Stefan (-2×4-) has posted so far. Following his mini Battlestar Galactica fighters, Stefan’s microscale Star Trek fleet includes a nice variety of ships from Star Trek: First Contact in a variety of sizes, ranging from the minuscule USS Defiant to the Enterprise-E.
Naturally, resistance is futile, as this large Borg Cube demonstrates.
WASP83 Drone battle bug by Corran101
As Thanel alluded to earlier, one of the new themes at BrickCon in two months is Battle Bugs. Harrison (Corran101) built this lovely WASP (Winged Arial Scout and Patrol) bot, complete with warning stripes.
It’s a trap! LEGO Star Wars 7754 Home One & 7753 Pirate Tank out now [News]
The newest LEGO Star Wars sets, including 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Cruiser and 7753 Pirate Tank
are now available from the LEGO Shop online.
The Home One playset includes minifig all-stars Admiral Ackbar, Mon Mothma, a new Lando, and Crix Madine, along with a green A-wing. A bit pricy at $110, but hey, Admiral Ackbar!
Having never watched the Clone Wars animated series, I don’t know much about the tank, but the minifigs are some of the coolest aliens I’ve seen outside Space Police III.
Speaking of the new Space Police, two more sets are out — ones I hadn’t seen from Toy Fair coverage or leaked catalog scans.
Chris Malloy’s Iron Golem will do your steampunk bidding
With a gap between LEGO creations of almost two years, it’s great to see something new from Chris Malloy (porschecm2). His Iron Golem is both sinister and adorably, simultaneously mechanical and biological.
The Chinese hats from the Adventurers Orient Expedition theme add a nice riveted look over the robot’s joints.
